I’m actually a liability adjuster at GEICO and it sounds like as the one making the lane change you didn’t have the right of way and had a duty to not make a lane change until it’s clear, additionally based on the point of impact (you struck his vehicles side) he had no chance to avoid you either. Unless you had some kind of video evidence we would make you 100% at fault for the accident. He sounds like a dick though to not let you in and I’m glad you fucked him over like that
