What a beautiful car!! I've had a 3rd,4th and 5th Gen Prelude and all of them were incredible cars, definitely Hondas forgotten masterpiece.
@GolfR-eady5 жыл бұрын
Seriously. I'd love to see another Prelude. I love the 4th/5th gen, they were quick even stock, looked great and handled great. Interior was better than my (then) 1998 Eclipse GS-T (I'm a Mitsu fan, now own a stock '95 3000GT VR-4) and it was nearly as fast stock to stock. I drove a 5th gen SH and wanted one as a DD, I was super impressed with the handling and quality, couldn't find one that wasn't salvage or raped to hell by some kid. Ended up with a much more boring Mercedes-Benz E420. Did you mod any of yours? Why are they so underrated by Honda fans?! If I was into Hondas my first choice would be a Prelude.
@LeadFootash235 жыл бұрын
@@GolfR-eady i'd love an Eclipse, we didn't get them in the UK. Both my 4th and 5th Gens were Japanese imports so they had slightly more power out of the box. The 5th gen was just lowered with Civic type r wheels, i didn't want to modify it a lot because it was so nice to drive. The 4th gen i used to use as a track car and had quite a lot of modifications, was pushing out 228 bhp with bolt on modifications and it was quite a quick car with all the weight taken out of it. I've never really understood why they were never that appreciated by other Honda enthusiasts, i always just asumed it was because they were more expensive to insure than the Civics. When i had my 4th gen a lot of my other friends wondered why i sold my Civic for it but they soon changed there opinion once they went in it. I love Civics but the Preludes are a much more special place to sit in comparison. Especially the 4th gen with big digital dash.
@GolfR-eady5 жыл бұрын
@@LeadFootash23 LeadFoot TV Agreed! I can understand the appeal of the Civic being cheaper, but the Prelude is such a cooler car. I liked that Eclipse but I own a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 that i absolutely love, it's all stock and runs 13.2-13.4@102-104 depending on how bad I feel like absuing my clutch lol. It was sold as the GTO in the UK if I'm not mistaken but I think your guys version has 280BHP, we got 320bhp and 315tq. It's not the best around corners but it's the fastest car stock that I've owned in a straight line, and I'll never modify it. I really want a Prelude as a DD, but all the ones I see are either huge mileage or trashed by some young kid. I'd trade in my E420 DD for a nice 4G or 5G in a second.
@GolfR-eady5 жыл бұрын
@@LeadFootash23 and your ludes sound sick. The 5g sounds beautiful and the 4g I'm sure was quick as all hell. I'm so jealous of the grey market there! I'm waiting to import a 2G GTO MR, those things run high 12s stock.

I'm definitely an AWD/RWD fan, 2 AWD cars (2019 Golf R DSG and 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4, believe it or not the VR4 is almost as fast and it's stock) and my DD is RWD (Mercedes E420) with some light mods. I've also always had a soft spot for Preludes. Im not a Honda fan at all but they're awesome cars - great lines, quick, not torqueless like most Hondas, and lots of tech. BTW, have you noticed the fanboying around the new Civic Type R? It's INSANE.

Is that an FD3 in your photo? Those are one of the most beautiful cars to come out of Japan. Handles insanely well and so gorgeous, and I liked the sequential TT set up. It was so light, like Lotus light. Ended up getting the VR-4 because I loved the torque rush and it was faster off the line than the (imo overrated) Supra Twin Turbo which drove boring - and I'm a huge AWD fan.
