I dont blame u for not taking this game seriously anymore. 5v5 doesn't reward skill or is balanced. Its just counterswap simulator. In 6v6 I'll blame it on me if I die or do something wrong if its not completely unbalanced

With the shitty track record of this team, I'm almost certain that they will fuck up on some balance stuff, which makes the community rightfully complain, but the dev team will blame it on "6v6 didn't work" and give up on it.

Jake and Iron did actually do a poll on 6v6 vs 5v5 on twitter and the results on averaging were around 50-50 That being said, I think that people who voted for 5v5 also included new players who have never tried 6v6, so I'd be interested in seeing a poll after this upcoming 6v6 test

I don't think a 50-50 is actually a good thing for 5v5. If you have something as your main game mode you want the majority of your players to prefer it or enjoy it. The fact that half your players don't even like the standard game is really bad.

Had a person on Twitter argue with me about formats, said "nobody wants 6v6" then we started talking. Eventually i got out of that person "I started with OW2" and after that their argument fell apart, how can you judge something so hard even though you never experinced it. The best part? The person didnt like 6v6 because they hate "Bullet Sponges", i basically told them that a Dva in OW2 or a Orisa in OW2 or a Mauga in OW2 is a way worse Bullet Sponge than anything in OW1 (Except 2x Shield) and they said i guess thats true. People need to see 6v6 for themselves instead of believing all the shit that gets talked about.

@@S3nCh4n Not to mention, that poll was like a year ago, meanwhile every big poll with like 10.000+ votes goes as followed 6v6 - 50%~ 5v5 - 25%~ I dont care - 25%~ Like i have seen so many polls of this its crazy. I even saw a person who went to Blizzcon last year and made a Poll with a giant poster and people had to draw a line for what they prefered, the end result was like 6v6 - 580 Votes 5v5 - 250 Votes Sure the sample sizes isnt the entire playerbase, but the devs still talking like 6v6 is something a small minority wants is insane

I will never understand why they thought changing the format to 5v5 would magically fix issues and make it easier to balance. They literally made it 500% harder because you have to rebuild the game from ground up, which equals more work. They really thought they could keep everything the same and call it a day, it's just mind-boggling.

Trying to kill Zarya is night and day. As soon as they use their personal bubble they pop like a balloon. The only character that's kind of hard to kill is ramattra. But that's just because he has 80% damage reduction with a block to his front but he doesn't provide any utility for his team so he's kind of a throw.

I'm glad that they're finally evolving the format. Don't matter if we stick with 6v6 or 5v5 even though 6v6 is better. Clearly something needs to change and the game needs to evolve in some way. We can't just keep relying on releasing new heroes in a battle pass every season it will get stale and boring even for the people who like consistency.

I doubt that the first 6x6 test will be successful, most likely the team composition will be 1 tank, 3 dps, 2 supports. I think so because in open q people often choose dps, sometimes sometimes there are no supports at all.

Juno and Ana combo as supports for 6v6 is gonna be scary. Even right now in QP Hacked with 2 tanks and 2 supports it's already a pretty disgusting comp when you got Rein and Zarya as tanks.....

Abby I called 6v6 playtests coming in season 14 and I predict hero talents are coming in season 15. I feel like they are going to build hype with 6v6 playtests, and keep that hype into hero talents.

Abby you should try Supervive when it comes out. It’s a top-down battle royale hero shooter with smash bros elements. It looks like league but plays very unique, and the devs have been very passionate about the game.

I dont even care. Deadlock is such a superior game at this point. Overwatch is so dependent on your teammates being competent in order for you to have a good time playing where as deadlock you can still make solo plays.

I am just going to drop this since I think this is smth important to understand. The casual side of the game likes 5v5 a lot. Been part of a really big casual ow server and playing in there for a while now as a way to chill, and once I got them to play the 6v6 mode and they hated it. I think you understimate how many ppl do like 5v5. Personaly, I don't really care, both have their ups and downs, 5v5 could have potential, but 6v6 is the easier format to balance by a long shot, and looking at the balance we have rn, that might be the road to follow.

I think casuals don't really have a strong opinion, we can also say that if blizzard says " now you can play tank with your friend too!" Casuals would he happy, at the end of the day ow is just a chill game for that part of the community

I will just say that just because you got a group of casuals to play 6v6 and don't like it doesn't mean most casuals doesn't like 6v6 as well. I am a casual who started playing OW in 5v5 and 6v6 was so much better. I unfortunately don't want to play the 6v6 codes because the OW system is garbage and I lag because 2 extra players exist in the game when in OW1 it was completely fine.

I mean that sample size is very small, i dont think you can determine that on like 10 People My whole friendgroup that was fairly casual quit because of 5v5, so now what? You can never please everyone but what we know is when the Community Sentiment about the game is better people are less "depressed" or "pissed" and so far 5v5 with like every Season has only been getting worse and worse We will see though, I for one will enjoy 6v6 to the fullest and will be depressed myself when it goes away for some time again

As happy as I am that 6v6 is making a return and they are willing to shake up the format.. there is a part of me that doesn't understand why they can't just do it normally and keep it to the classic OW1 format, and just tweek things here and there to see how it goes. why do they have to be weird about it? Correct me if I'm wrong but OW is now 8yrs old or so, it feels like its having such an identity crisis and feels so late to be experimenting so much like this especially with so many competitors like Marvel rivals and Deadlock aiming for the #1 position.. They say they are gonna do these things and change their minds so much that it difficult to be excited or optimistic with them, but I suppose we can only wait and see.

I feel like the Issues of the Identity Crisis come from the Dev team being almost completly changed from the OW1 Dev team, when it comes to balance the new devs seem to make the same mistakes the old devs did in like 2018 Theres AoE Sustain Creep, too much Survivability, CC is slowly getting stronger, like im just sitting here getting flashbacks to 6 years ago where that shit already happened once, it spawned Goats and then the eSport was fucked and they forced themselves into 2-2-2 (which i like very much) but still Realistically, if they finally figure out that 1. Tanks need playmaking potential, shouldnt be bullet sponges and more relative in HP to other Roles 2. DPS need better dueling than Supports and no support should have similar damage to DPS 3. Supports shouldnt just have "get out of Jail for free" immortalities or AoE sustain abilities Then the game maybe can have a good chance again to be competitive But yeah we need 6v6 badly, 5v5 is so horrible lol

The shift in the development team has led to so many changes that make the game feel like it’s repeating old mistakes, especially with the increasing sustain and survivability. I still have nightmares and memories of the GOATS meta, and it’s frustrating to see a similar direction emerging. I agree that tanks need more playmaking potential instead of just being damage sponges. It would bring more depth and engagement to the role. DPS also need to stand out more in duels, and supports should avoid dealing comparable damage to DPS, as it blurs the roles way to much. The “get out of jail free” abilities on some supports, combined with AoE sustain, makes the game feel so unbalanced and incredibly exhausting. 6v6 format allowed for so much more synergy and strategy...whereas 5v5 feels so much more limiting in team dynamics. If they would just address these issues properly, the game could have a real shot at regaining a strong competitive edge again.

8 Years they cant decide what to do with the Game But look at other Games that have been around for a similar amount of time, maybe even longer, league of legends had its 15th Anniversary this year. In the beginning 2009/2010 they havent decided there was a Jungle role and 1 Top, 1 Mid, 2 Bot Laners, but then in like 2011~ it was decided thats how the Game is meant to be played. And I can talk a lot of shit about League of Legends Balance but atleast they know their core game and they know how to design it to make people keep playing. And league doesnt have a good track record of that many different modes released in the past 6 years, but they atleast still try to do them occaisonally while releasing new Champions, new changes to the core game and they still get Lore and even different types of games (TFT -> Autochess, Legends of Runeterra -> Card Game, 2XKO -> Fighting Game, etc.) To top it all of, the Esport is thriving, people take the game very seriously and thats because they competitive integrity hasnt been shat on multiple times (even though their way of not banning huge trolls or very toxic people is insane to me) Its just sad to see Overwatch could have been at the same state as league if they just managed the game a lot better. But im still hopeful 6v6 will make people enjoy the game more and they will return it as main gamemode.
