You're a stud. It's awesome to learn to fix stuff yourself. I have been fixing my own vehicles for about 22 years. WORTH every scraped knuckle

@@HimmelbergerBus turned out that the pump wasn't too bad, but the lower hoses and hose clamps were. i actually had a clamp loosen up on the main hose on the highway 50 miles from home... didn't overheat though. fixed it with extra clamps on the side of the highway. this video did help me locate the bolts and everything.

Great job!, I’ve seen rebuild kits online, but this is the better way to go. I would paint it silver or blue. I’ve been told most coaches came with blue engines, when they were rebuilt they painted them red. Mine is red too. It’s probably been rebuilt a few times. 1.1 million miles from paperwork and hub meter reading

If it’s a Silver 92 Series.. silver is the color.. check out mine on my channel.. looks good in silver.. ifs it’s not a silver series then I would do alpine green. I think your lash might have been a bit loose.. the lash spec is .001” to .006”. To adjust the lash you have to use a prybar on the side of the water pump to pull it into the gear. The water pump has a pin it pivots on to adjust the lash. I am going to be doing a video soon on installing a water pump and I will show the lash adjustment procedure. Great videos.. I am enjoying your journey.

Bigger toys bigger tools!!!! You will have to change those hoses in a couple years because they are not the silicone or green stripe Gates hose made for commercial applications. I removed the site glass on ours to clean it when I recored the radiators. They were a absolute mess but better than new now. Thanks.

@HimmelbergerBus3 жыл бұрын
No idea, I’ve heard talk of it. Truckers can use them because they run 2x a side. If you lose one on your bus, you’re SOL.

dont use green coolant in a 92......it has wet sleeves. You need the heavy duty truck coolant so it doesnt get electrolysis in the wet sleeves. Green coolant lacks the electrolysis inhibitor, unless you specially get an additive.
@HimmelbergerBus3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve been seeing that lately. When I bought the bus it had green, I didn’t think of it. Looking at the additive. Thanks!
@wazza33racer3 жыл бұрын
@@HimmelbergerBus possibly cummins DCA additive could work...........no idea if its compatible. Heavy duty coolant for wet sleeves also sticks to the sleeve better for heat transfer, avoids the formation of cavitation or voids that inhibit heat getting transferred. That is a very good thing for any engine that has a lot of horsepower per cubic inch like GM 2 strokes or the later high hp current generation heavy truck engines.
