Whenever i go travel overseas, i always dont know what to buy as gifts for the fam and the mates. when i was in vietnam i bought too many packets of coffee, in thailand, i bought sauce packets for mint mince pork & tom yum chips, in japan i bought kit kats and tokyo banana and in hong kong... biscuits. i always buy food it seems.
Anyway, i figured i would give you all some australian souvenir ideas for when you visit so you have some idea on what you can buy.

I'm Australian but now live in the UK, and usually bring back Twisties (make sure you pack them well or the bag will explode and you'll have cheese dust all over everything, I know from experience) and seaweed Sakatas :) Hard to pack though I know. I also know they're not Australian, but I love the Whittakers coconut slabs! I've also started getting the Aldi version of the pawpaw ointment, it's only $2 and is exactly the same! A friend in Thailand also really appreciated me bringing her some Australian wine too, as it's apparently very expensive there... Good videos by the way :)

If you shop your souvenirs at a supermarket I recommend going to the website first and check multiple stores, because what I found is that many times there are things on sale at Coles that are more expensive at Woolies. Perfect example in this video are the Tim Tams, I don’t know when Janice shot this video, but Coles had Tim Tams from the 5th to the 12th of February for 1/2 price and especially if buy many that can save you a lot of money.

My other souvenir recommendations: Sukin skincare (I love their moisturiser and rosehip oil) My favourite chips from coles/woolies Smith's sour cream and onion Red rock deli vintage cheese, caramelized onions and rosemary oil chips (to die for) And if they are someone that collects starbucks mugs and tumblers or just in general starbucks sells mugs that have specific australian states Best place to buy generic australian souvenir in Sydney is Paddy's market.

I also got different kinds of chocolate like my fav Kit Kat Gold Choc Swirl (brought back 10 of this as it's not widely available in Asia), tim tam duos (do you know the Indonesian produced have different taste?) and Australian Milo is somewhat different from the one in Asia! But if youre feeling funky, get that kangaroo balls keychain from haymarket

Tim Tams oh yes definitely the best chocolate biscuit I've tasted in a long time , I bring as many as I can get in the suitcase I do give some away honestly. Also cherry ripe really love them ( I have a very sweet tooth) great advice, I always look out for these when I am in Perth visiting friends . Nice vlog as always.

Those should be fairly easy to find. If in Sydney, go visit Paddy’s Market in Haymarket, it’s in the city near Chinatown, there’s guaranteed to be some stalls selling Australian flag magnets. There’s also a few small souvenir shops in the Chinatown area, just walk around and explore the area. You might also find some souvenir shops inside Market City, a shopping mall located above Paddy’s Market. If you missed them or ran out of time, you’ll find some for sale at the airport.

Globalisation kills food souvenirs. TimTams are copies of McVities Penguins (McVities we’re introduced 36 years earlier). Vegimite is another copy of Marmite. Tea tree oil is available worldwide, as is Manuka honey - it’s just a little cheaper in Oz.

hey JF....Along with Advanced World History I also teach "History of Popular Music and Culture". When we get to the 1980's and I introduced "Men at Work" and the "Down Under" song they always ask "What is a Vegemite sandwich"? So now for the past 5 years I order a tube of Vegemite from Amazon and we have a tasting in class..I don't have a toaster in class so I just put some on a saltine cracker but they get the idea....I also have discovered that the students that like it or at least tolerate it best, are my Asian students. They say it reminds them of soy sauce. everyone else thinks it is too salty. Hey JF, Do you have a mailing address.
