Plague is just a FF4 vanilla boss, complete with the same mechanic from 4. It'd suck to get surprised by, but 6 is where Reraise (life 3) was born, so one character with a ribbon and the fight's basically over because they can just reraise the group. Now, the safe in Shinra Mansion in ff7, that's a painful surprise because it's a surprise boss in a "chest" that is opened by a puzzle and with a timer on entering the code to open it. (the one with the boss Lost Number within, guarding the Odin summon, Red XIII's lv4 limit break manual, and the key to Vincent's room in the basement)
@veghesther320413 күн бұрын
Ribbons are useless Plague in FF4 at least ONLY uses Doom's timer + Haste to make it kill you faster it never attacks you but in FF6 GBA Ribbons won't null the Doom timer and it still uses Haste to make the timer kill you faster but 8x 9999 hits against Plague in FF6 GBA still kills it in 1 turn same wiith 8x 9999 Ultima spells. I had MORE trouble killing NESLUG in the GBA version since ANY attack that hits its shell results in it using a instant kill move that can ONLY be nulled via summoning Phantom but the SHELL part can heal its HEAD part using 9999 Curaga counters.

Final Fantasy VI; Mount Zozo, Thunder Dragon. Yes I know it's not "opening" a chest, it's pressing a button. That then opens a chest, THEN releases the dragon. While not really a hard fight once you know ins and outs of FF6, it's early enough of a location in the World of Ruin to completely wipe an un-ready party with powerful wind attacks.

Feral Chaos just gets even worse from there as well...His real fight? Level 130, way more HP, but hey, at least you still have your team! xD I never knew about the Zodiac Spear conditions myself, but I guess I did okay without it as I still defeated Vayne. Suspicious as those groups of chests looked, of course I was gonna go for 'em, lol! Though I guess that's the point, to make you suspect something, but at the same time, tempt you. I wonder if you could save before doing the chest game in X, so if you get a mimic, you can just turn the game off and restart, or if that would also unable you to play again. I'd be pretty dang pissed myself if I missed out due to mimics.

If i remember it correctly the FFX chest game in the omega ruins wasn't about opening the wrong chest but rather opening it at the wrong time as it was a time based puzzle making it even much harder to get all 12 chests. The zodiac spear in FFXII original was simply unfair and i highly doubt anyone got it without the guide which was probably the reason they made it so obscure so more people would buy the guide 😅 the remaster though made it still tough to get especially without knowing the new chest location which had only a 1% chance to appear. HOWEVER they decided to add an even more overpowered weapon with the lowest chance to get in the entire serious! This weapon called the Seitengrat was almost impossible to get even if you had the guide! Located in the most obscure place possible AND made invisible the chest had only a 1% chance to appear to begin with but than it also only had 1% chance to have the Seitengrat in it! Oh and that also only if you had the diamond braclet eqipped 🙄 all in all the chance to get the Seitengrat was 1:10000! It was absolutely ridiculous! Thankfully RNG manipulation exists^^ with a specific method the Seitengrat became a 100% chance. There are also 2 other items another weapon and a shield that are similar hard to get but not as hard as the Seitengrat. Overall the probablities in FFXII are insane even in the remaster version for some chests can take hours to appear. 100% completing FFXII both the original and the remaster version without any cheating takes forever.
