Rob presents our list of 7 dilemmas only married gamers will understand. Had an experience with any of these? Can you think of any we’ve missed? Let us know in the comments.
Married gamers will understand that their favourite hobby faces a few more challenges in adult life. Take the battle for the TV, or the need to take part in polite adult conversation instead of playing Stellar Blade. You don’t have to be married to understand these dilemmas - if you live with other people or share your life with other people, these will be familiar too. Did this week’s Friday Feature miss any classic dilemmas? Pop them in the comments.
And if you’re just joining us: yes, Rob’s Friday Features are back. Catch up on recent episodes here…

One I expected to hear is the spouse talking over important cutscenes, ones that can’t be paused but you aren’t 100% sure. “If I press pause will the cutscene pause, or will it skip it?”

One of the most relatable Friday Features to date. “Oh honey I’m tired. I’m going to bed early.” (Perfect) “okay good night!”
@ShadowofPince
@ShadowofPince Ай бұрын
Midway of that sentence I usually have turned on my PS5, controller in hand, scrolling through menus picking a game and going "Ok! I'll stay up for a while longer." Then about two hours later, the phone rings "When are you coming to bed?" 'I'll just need to get to a save point."(which are pretty much nonexistent in games these days, but that excuse gives a few extra minutes of gaming.)

I married a gamer, we solved the problem by having two PS5's linked to two TV's in the front room. And her dad is a massive gamer too so when the in-laws come over we play something together or he watches / gives tips or watch KZbin playthroughs. It does get tricky when you both want to play the same game but you can't get to it but your wife can so you have to avoid the front room for fear of spoilers.

My husband and I are both gamers, and one dilemma I find is trying to avoid spoilers when we're both playing the same game but at different times or one is getting further than the other. We also have two children, our eldest who seems to have been born a gamer and never stopped lol, so we're basically a gaming family. I personally would never have got with a non-gamer because gaming has been a love of mine since I was about 4 and it's amazing to share the hobby and talk about it together. If we go on holiday, we always take a portable with us such as the Switch or Steam Deck so we can play occasionally.

I have literally stayed at home and gamed for a solid week rather than go on holiday. And I mean solid, no tv, no movies, just me and first playthrough of Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen on PS4; and my wife supported me in that decision. She didn’t want to listen to me moan about lousy internet service, it being too hot/bright/early for a week, and I didn’t want to go. She also was fine with me turning 30 square meter shed into a bespoke gaming space, complete with log burner, wood panel walls, and a truly RIDICULOUS sound system. Folks get yourself a missus like mine and the gaming worlds can be yours.

I’m in my late 20’s and my girlfriend also loves to play games on her pc so we often play together, and together seperately and sometimes i make her watch a game I’ve played hundreds of hours of. Even though she wasn’t used to playing games I enjoy, she’s always approached them with a “If you like it, I’m sure I will” attitude. She’s recently finished Red Red Redemption 2 and since she has developed an obssesion with the game, leading to oh so so many amazing fanarts of Arthur and Dutch she’s made, hillarious tiktoks of the game we’ve spent hours laughing at together, amazing references she’s made. The other she’s texted me after visiting a friend, “the hang was great!” was the intended text, which autocorrect changed to “the gang” Which then she corrected and immideatly followed up with “I was never in Blackwater, I just have an unfortunate face!” And I have spent that entire day in tears of joy I am so so sorry for rambling here but, Rob, THANK YOU, for making me have this moment of reflection on just how lucky I am.

Surprisingly trying to platinum cuphead with my girlfriend wasn't the source of most of our gaming related arguments but instead getting the plat for overcooked all you can eat really teated the strength of our relationship.

The return of the Rob Friday Feature to Access gives me the same happy warmth inside that I get when firing up the Lord of The Rings Extended Editions to herald the start of my Christmas Holidays. You bow to no-one.

Me and my partner had planned the release ofd FFVII Rebirth months in advance. We made sure that our son was taken care of, brought a second PS 5, ( because we live long enogh in this relationship to know that playing together or in turns could never be an option until we want to kill each other in the process) and we figured out a setup that allowed us to play next to each other without seeing the TV of the other person to avoid spoilers. We made a perfect gamer grocery list, brought everything we needed, prepared our individual gaming spaces in our gaming room and played the hell out of this game for several days. That were the perfect time and it was more refreshing and wholesome than any trip we ever made togehter. Don't get me wrong, we will go on a trip with opur son too this year but the vacation we were most excited for this year were the trip into the wonderful wordl of FFVII. Having a gamer as partner is the best thing that could ever happened to me. Even if we often like and play different games every once in while there is a special game we are both excited about and sharing this excitement with him is so magical. Even after all this years. Great video as always. I love watching all of you!

Thank you so much Rob for the awesome video as usual ❤ When my husband and I both enjoy a game we will literally trade off every hour, watching the other play. We even did this back when World of Warcraft came out and we were first dating 🎮💕
