One I expected to hear is the spouse talking over important cutscenes, ones that can’t be paused but you aren’t 100% sure. “If I press pause will the cutscene pause, or will it skip it?”

One of the most relatable Friday Features to date. “Oh honey I’m tired. I’m going to bed early.” (Perfect) “okay good night!”
@ShadowofPince
@ShadowofPince 8 ай бұрын
Midway of that sentence I usually have turned on my PS5, controller in hand, scrolling through menus picking a game and going "Ok! I'll stay up for a while longer." Then about two hours later, the phone rings "When are you coming to bed?" 'I'll just need to get to a save point."(which are pretty much nonexistent in games these days, but that excuse gives a few extra minutes of gaming.)

My husband and I are both gamers, and one dilemma I find is trying to avoid spoilers when we're both playing the same game but at different times or one is getting further than the other. We also have two children, our eldest who seems to have been born a gamer and never stopped lol, so we're basically a gaming family. I personally would never have got with a non-gamer because gaming has been a love of mine since I was about 4 and it's amazing to share the hobby and talk about it together. If we go on holiday, we always take a portable with us such as the Switch or Steam Deck so we can play occasionally.

I married a gamer, we solved the problem by having two PS5's linked to two TV's in the front room. And her dad is a massive gamer too so when the in-laws come over we play something together or he watches / gives tips or watch KZbin playthroughs. It does get tricky when you both want to play the same game but you can't get to it but your wife can so you have to avoid the front room for fear of spoilers.

And I mean solid, no tv, no movies, just me and first playthrough of Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen on PS4; and my wife supported me in that decision. She didn’t want to listen to me moan about lousy internet service, it being too hot/bright/early for a week, and I didn’t want to go. 11:36 that’s funny. I’m a 50-ish yr old gamer, and my daughter’s Marine husband is a (27 yr old) gamer, and we talk about gaming all the time. Drives my daughter and wife nuts

Now 37, I grew up with video games and recently treated myself to a PS5. While my wife doesn't understand gaming, my 4 year old son is loving Astro's Playroom and we've been playing through it together (with me stepping in for the harder platforming bits). I can't believe how intuitive the game is - really a joy for all ages - we're both having the best time with it. :-)

I’m in my late 20’s and my girlfriend also loves to play games on her pc so we often play together, and together seperately and sometimes i make her watch a game I’ve played hundreds of hours of. Even though she wasn’t used to playing games I enjoy, she’s always approached them with a “If you like it, I’m sure I will” attitude. She’s recently finished Red Red Redemption 2 and since she has developed an obssesion with the game, leading to oh so so many amazing fanarts of Arthur and Dutch she’s made, hillarious tiktoks of the game we’ve spent hours laughing at together, amazing references she’s made. The other she’s texted me after visiting a friend, “the hang was great!” was the intended text, which autocorrect changed to “the gang” Which then she corrected and immideatly followed up with “I was never in Blackwater, I just have an unfortunate face!” And I have spent that entire day in tears of joy I am so so sorry for rambling here but, Rob, THANK YOU, for making me have this moment of reflection on just how lucky I am.

Awesome list! I loved all the old throwbacks like Mum-Dave. The badger. Leblancs law is absolutely true. I played hundreds of hours of Wrestling games and my mum decided to sit down and have a chat at the exact moment i was creating a custom wrestler who happened to be female. Trying to exit the game before the 'home' button existed was stressful.
