Voice actors don't often get enough credit or recognition so this was such a lovely video. While it's not nearly as noteworthy as the rest of his work, Ramon Tikaram also voices a bunch of NPCs in World of Warcraft. As a huge Bioware fan, the fact that some random banker in Boralus is my beloved Dorian makes me giggle every time I visit the bank.

I often drop everything and google the voice actors for random NPCs. Invader Zim did the voice for a bunch of annoying... spriggans? I think it was. Clancy Brown did a dungeon boss for ICC, etc.

I love finding out that voice actors have voiced totally different roles that I recognise, I still remember when I found out the one for Mario and Paarthurnax were the same and I was so shocked 😅 Main one that got me in this though was Godrick the Grafted because Dorian's always been my favourite and I did not pick up the voice at all 😱

I'm not nearly far enough in Dark Souls 2 to have met him yet, but I did go and listen to his full voice lines someone compiled on KZbin. He really does get into that role. Side note: Con O'Neill is amazing in Our Flag Means Death. I typed that just before Luke mentioned it, lol.

I was lucky enough to score the DVD box set in a charity shop, now I just need to wrest control of the TV away from my better half for long enough to enjoy it…lucky we have an old one with a DVD player built in, they seem to be in short supply these days!

Kevin Howarth is the voice of Iron fist Alexander, who also does voice work in several other games, notably Horizon Zero Dawn and The Wolf Among Us. He's also the lead in a film called The Last Horror Movie, a 2003 found footage movie which is criminally underseen.

Playing Spot That Voice Actor! is always fun. Since you mentioned Overwatch, one of my favorite examples from that game: Darin De Paul, who plays Reinhardt, also (among many other roles) voices Ardyn in Final Fantasy XV and Samuel Hayden in Doom Eternal. Wee bit of a shift in tone there. And then you see him in person and he's this affable and unassuming-looking gentleman in an extremely dapper suit. :)

I'm not a particularly huge fanboy of people, but Darin De Paul is the closest I get to anybody. He always seems so cheerful and seems to enjoy what he does a lot. Sidenote: He also did the villain Valkorian (spelling?) in the Old Republic expansions. Calus from Destiny, the main bad guy from Halo:Infinite...the man is in everything.

Would definitely love more voice actor related videos from you guys! Big thumbs up from me. Fromsoft games definitely have some great performances though. Always thought it would be so easy for this kind of dialog to slip into sounding like unbearably overacted pretentious nonsense, without really skilled and committed performances, and consistent direction. They keep pulling it off in a way that, for me, just works perfectly with the overall tone of the games, and does the world building justice. Always impresses me, coz it could easily go so wrong.

One of my favorites is David Bateson (Hitman's Agent 47) is one of 3 voices for the game Lightmatter, a Portal homage puzzle game. His character, Virgil, is an overbearing genius, and suffers helping you escape his laboratory complex. It's a phenomenal game, and hearing "Agent 47"'s voice regularly lose his cool at your incompetence is great!

Honestly loved hearing so many Bristol and South-Welsh accents in this game. A nice touch is that most who were of Godfreys lineage spoke with Bristol accents, and almost everyone associated with Renalla and Raya Lucaria spoke with a welsh accent. The Elden Ring cast was pretty stacked to be honest. There are a bunch of great TV actors in there as well as VO industry stalwarts. This list could easily have been twice as long.

I play Arknights and was looking at the english voices for operators looking for FFXIV voices because there's a few of of them, and Clare Corbett is the voice of a character named Estelle, and has an extensive Fromsoft resume: Demon's Souls (original and remake, Maiden Astraea, and a few other minor NPCs in the remake), Dark Souls (Female Undead Merchant, Gwynevere, and Crossbreed Priscilla), Dark Souls 2 (Alsanna from Crown of the Ivory King), Dark Souls 3 (the crow & some enemy voices), and as mentioned here, Hyetta & Irena (and one of the fem tarnished voices). Also my fav thing is that Tanith's va is Vidofnir in FFXIV Heavensward, and despite the fact she is speaking the language of the dragons, I somehow immediately went "wait. wait. is that....oh my god it is"

This feels like a different sort of list than Oxtra usually does, but I love doing this kind of voice-spotting, it's so much fun to see if you can recognize them out of context or through an accent. Ramon Tikaram is SO good as Dorian, though. I wish they'd included part of the scene where he confronts his father, it'll tear your heart into tiny pieces.

I'd also love to see this for other games, including other Soulsborne games; for example, Peter Serafinowicz (I personally know him best from Shaun of the Dead but he's done quite a bit, including voice acting in TV, film, and other games) is Mild-Mannered Pate in Dark Souls 2, which I found out because he is in a couple of videos talking about it because he's a HUGE fan of the Dark Souls series! Outside of From Software games, I would recommend Tim Bentinck who is the voice of Victor Saltzpyre in Vermintide 1 and 2; he's had an incredibly long and cool career, first off as a traditional actor, but then really throwing himself into videogame voice acting and amassing an equally impressive list of roles, to the point where Saltzpyre is likely my favourite piece of voice acting of all time, as well as a great character in general (and many in the game's community would agree with me, I think!) Bonus, he really loves the fans and the game (and respects the medium too), and he even takes fan requests to do Victor's voice if you donate to charity in lieu of tipping him

I probably shouldn’t have seen excellent tv miniseries Chernobyl enough times to be able to recognise a short audioclip of Con O’Neill as allegedly negligent power plant manager Viktor Bryukhanov, but, there you go, clearly he’s made an impression.

Nabil Elouahabi is the voice actor for Kale in this game and he's also the voice actor for Cypher from Valorant and he also has quite a few acting careers in his life from movies and TV shows. He also apparently has voice acting in Dragon Age Inquisition but not to one character. Just mentions additional voices in it

If you’re looking for nerve shredding locations, I suggest the aurora from Subnautica the ominous music definitely sticks out there, as well as the fact that there are multiple reaper leviathan patrolling this area

Its funny you should mention the Detectorists. I was watching it and thought i recognised the voice of Mad Farmer Bishop. I realised that he voiced Yoel of Londor from DS3 😂

I don't think it twigged before but seeing Anthony Howell's name here I could recognise it instantly, I remember him from Call of Cthulhu where he played main character Edward Pierce.

Fun fact, Anthony Howell voices a character in FFXIV as well, one who was first revealed at the end of Shadowbringer and became a more prominent character in Endwalker, that character is none other than Forchenault Leveillur, the father of Alphinaud and Allisae and is by far the most complicated father character that I've seen so far, I didn't know that the guy who played this douchebag/weirdly likable character also voiced Morgott the one person who I think would be an excellent paladin in any D&D campaign.
