A year ago I was diagnosed with Diabetes after being sedentary and gaining weight during the Covid lock down. I began to see your videos and began to learn that it could be reverse. One video that caught my attention talked about starving diabetes, just like you would an angry beast that comes to attack you. I changed my diet, lost around 30 pounds by simply eating less carbs and more protein. The pounds just sheded off as a by-product of the diet change, I did not have to struggle to lose them. Thank you for all the information that I learned from your videos. Today I was given the great news from my doctor that my test results shows that I no longer have diabetes . The doctor said that I reverted to pre diabetes to continue doing what I've being doing so far. I got rid of pasta, rice, potatoes and regular bread. I now eat coliflor rice, sugar free bread. More protein and less carbs. Thank you. You have been God send. God bless.

One of the best videos I have ever seen. I love the humor and delivery! People have been conditioned to eat junk food from an early age. A lot of people make money on us, as they slowly send us down the road to diabetes, amputations, blindness and a slew of other cronic conditions. Our education system suppresses a lot of knowledge that would keep us healthy. And that "food pyramid" is way out of date.

Pharmaceutical companies would go out of business, our health insurance premiums would PLUMMET, and our hospitals would barely have any sick patients. Processed food companies would have to reform. Great concept but bad for the business world! They’d rather keep making money creating a sick society!

I’m a 22 year old type 1 diabetic been since age 17 haven’t been taking care of myself, but watching my old grandmother that has the same condition and having gone through a surgery in her thighs which shouldn’t have been done is now turning into a nightmare, her foot has to be amputated her cells aren’t reproducing all I can see is her muscle tissue now almost to the point of seeing her bone, very sad because she also doesn’t want surgery. Prior to this she ate very bad eating tacos everyday with almost 100+ carbs each meal & 400 or more of sugar range. Seeing your videos Dennis has made me start making changes in my diet, over the years I’ve been eating high food carbs which now are making rethink my ways of eating; having foot pain most of the time, energy super low, blurred vision at times, all I can say is thank you your videos have inspired me to start a low carb diet, because sometimes not even the own doctors will inform you in the basics of how this disease works

Just to clarify for other readers, Most people on here have Type 2 diabetes which develops gradually, usually at an older age. It is usually treated with pills and then insulin shots, gradually getting worse. With a low carb diet these folks can control and even reverse their disease. The young man writing has Type 1 diabetes (years ago called Juvenile diabetes because it often starts in childhood) in which the pancreas completely stops functioning. Anyone with Type 1 must use insulin for the rest of their lives. A low carb diet will not reverse this type of diabetes but it will make controlling blood sugar easier and may prevent many of the bad effects.

After years of following a low carb diet I now have learnt how to have what I want by doing intermittent fasting. I'm retired so it's easier to manage though harder without distraction of work and within close proximity of food! I eat between 12MD - 5pm ( 19hr fast) most days. Once or twice a week I don't eat till 3 or 4pm if I'm out, just having water and a black coffee no sugar - that's a 22-23hrs fast without thinking about it. If I have to move my eating window either side it's no big deal. I've lost weight almost without trying too hard and can have various sourdough breads, my weakness! Only two slices, mind and no jam. Of course if I eat low carb ( not keto) AND do intermittent fasting I'd lose more weight. This I often do. I'm aware of insulin resistance and will fast longer when I can. I'm not diabetic but it's rampant in my family so have to be vigilant.

Just diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Went to Dr. who never even told me what type of diabetes I had - 1 or 2. Immediately wrote prescription for Metformin and high blood pressure medication. I am not interested in taking either one of these medications and was appalled at how there was no discussion of lowering blood sugar naturally. I have decided to drastically alter my diet, incorporate fasting and to exercise 5 days a week. I definitely agree with you about most fruit as I ate a banana the other day and my blood sugar sky-rocketed. I ate salmon and salad for lunch today and my blood sugar did not skyrocket. I find the glucose meter to be really helpful and I am closely monitoring what happens to my blood sugar after eating anything. I believe that with the alterations to my lifestyle and eating, I can reverse this diagnosis without medication. I'm giving myself 90 days to see what happens. Thank you for sharing this video as I found it very helpful.

After faithfully following a Keto/low carb diet plan for about 10 months, my fasting BG is beautifully down--was 87 when I checked it yesterday!! I did it without medication/s. A diet that makes us diabetic is being forced upon the entire world now, and younger and younger people are becoming pre or full blown diabetics. All we can do is pray that your message, and the message of people like Dr. Sten Ekberg, Dr. Jason Fung, and Dr. Eric Berg reach these people on time. Cut up and boil cauliflower, drain it, then mash it til it's smooth with butter and cream (thin the cream with a little water).... not that different than mashed potatoes. Spaghetti squash is a pretty good substitute for pasta if you're craving something with marinara sauce on it.

Not good. You can't be a carbohydrate hypocrite. If we tell you to stay away from that demon called carbs we mean to avoid any likelihood or similarities with it altogether!

You can make low carb bread though for the hamburger using almond flour. One video shows how to make it one piece at a time. So simply: 1 Tbsp butter, 3 Tbsp almond flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1 egg, pinch of salt. Find a microwave safe bowl that has the shape of a hamburger bun, melt the butter first and coat all sides of the bowl. Then add the rest of the ingredients, whisk until completely blended, smooth the surface and microwave for about 90 secs. Let cool, remove and cut into top and bottom parts. Comes out great...best to use the rounded bottom half as the top of the bun. I just made a keto hamburger this evening.

I would like to try this though I do not like the radiation from microwaves, can this be done in a toaster oven? baked what temperature and how long . If not that is ok just asking if it is possible. Thank you.
@englishwithteachermark43073 жыл бұрын
@@markjg2275 Hi, Mark. I'm glad you like the recipe. I just made another low carb almond flour burger today. It's all healthy now, not only because of the low carbs, but because of the vitamin packed almonds. Certainly you could use a toaster oven. However, you shouldn't fear radiation from a microwave oven, not unless your microwave is old with a damaged and cracked door allowing radiation to escape. There is a misconception that a microwave oven produces atomic particles, that is particle radiation, like that of a nuclear reactor. This is nonsense. This is not ionic radiation, but electromagnetic radiation, like the light from a lightbulb. The radiation is just at a much higher frequency. It can certainly be dangerous if exposed to directly, but there is absolutely nothing to fear if using an undamaged microwave oven. There are no particles that will escape upon opening the door as some people believe since no particles exist in the first place. The instant the timer goes off or the instant you open the door the microwave radiation ceases. It also has no deleterious affect on the food since this is not particle radiation where DNA molecules can be altered. These high frequency electromagnetic waves just cause the water molecules in food to vibrate, heating the food. Please don't have any fear about using a microwave. I worked as an electronic technician for fifteen years; I know what I'm talking about. They are completely safe if undamaged.

Yesterday I ate out, ordered Chicken Alfredo...ate only half of the serving, got home with bloated stomach and explosive diarrhea.....so no pasta, no dairy ...got it....I'm learning by trail and error....I have so much to learn ...!...thank you !....greetings from Southern Texas

You can have the dairy unless you're lactose intolerant. Dairy is actually good for you and the same with the chicken. It was probably the pasta and sauce that was bad.

God intended for us to be vegetarians, but I guess as humans we always want to do things our way. After the Flood, He allowed humanity to eat clean meats only (Leviticus 11) but unfortunately we've again decided to do and eat what we want at the cost of injury to our health. All the best to everyone trying to reverse their diabetes and become healthier. This video has some very good advice 👍🏻.

I did NOT realize I was Diabetic until about 13 months ago. Have had I believe three different A1C tests then until now - first was 6.9, second was 6.0, third (mid-Nov 2021) was 5.5. I am COMPLETELY NOT FOLLOWING anything the crazy dietitian, employed by the hospital, told me. I usually eat two meals a day and try to limit carbs. She promoted six small meals and how about a little less sugar. Your videos have done me more good than anything any 'medical person' has told me - which wasn't much. Thanks Dennis.

On a Keto diet you keep your carbs low to 20g or less each day. How are you living on vegetarian with 20g carbs per day? I cup of strawberries has 11g of carbs, 1 tomato has 7g carbs, that’s already 18g carbs. Even a relaxed vegetarian diet allows only 50g carbs per day. Ketones are only found in meat, fish, eggs, cream and cheese. Sounds like you adopted a vegetarian diet, not Keto.

Agree with you on the potatoes but every few days I do a carb meal and eat sweet potatoes. Secret is the only way you can lower the glycemic index is to boil for at least 30 minutes and refrigerate 6 hours. Granted not a diabetic but any other way to prepare them will raise the glycemic index and even boiling a short time doesn't lower it. Thanks for your continued work Dennis .

Another great video Denis, I found you on KZbin a couple of years ago, you gave me the knowledge and belief to be able to reverse my diabetes, I went from having h A1C of 68 to 33 after three months. It remained in the 30’s but my blood review last month showed an increase. I put this down to being in COVID lock down and the stress this caused, I got complacent, and fell off the low carb wagon! The good news is I know I can, with a little effort turn it around again. I look at this as good thing, as it has made me focus on my health again. Keep up the good work Sir.

I’ve been carnivore for 15 plus months, and lost over 50 lbs, and I think his advice is very good!👍🏻. I don’t throw 22:17 out very much type of food from my lifestyle, but the things he warns against, is something I would only eat very little of, and only occasionally! I celebrate my great grandchildren’s birthdays with them, with a 1 inc piece of cake, that I remove the frosting from, and don’t have seconds or thirds, and no ice cream! Then I’m good until the next birthday! When I do eat a hamburger, it’s a greasy triple cheeseburger! The buns hold the grease, so I eat it too! When I go out to dinner, I order a 24 oz ribeye, without sides, no buns, crackers or bread 🥖. I don’t eat desserts or drink sweet drinks! I eat bacon and eggs for my second meal, if I have one. Usually I’m too full to eat a second meal! I can eat at a smorgasbord,by staying with the protein, but I’m scared of the fried food, because of the seed oils they fry the food in. I don’t count calories, if it’s protein, and stay away from sugar! Sugar is a natural cancer food, think breast cancer, and colon cancer, if it runs in your family! Not good for your heart, eyes, skin, stomach and edema! I changed my lifestyle because of gout, and it’s a great motivator to keep me in my lifestyle. I haven’t a gout attack since I changed my lifestyle! Only thing I changed is my wardrobe, and I seem to have lost my second chin! I also do not drink alcohol, but that’s another thing that should not be regularly consumed or in large amounts! No contests, if you can’t count to one, don’t have any, and if you can, very seldom! Food is not a celebration, socializing is, talk more, consume less. After 15 months, I’m still waiting for my excess skin to disappear! It took years to get it, so don’t expect it to be gone overnight! Do it for your health, not your looks! This has been my experience, it’s not medical advice, but it works for a 79 year old 100% disabled Vietnam veteran, me!

@@williamalvarado7810no they are not, but I have never gotten used to eating them. If I do eat them, it is to use them as a spoon for salsa or hummus. Those Slim Jim BBQ pork rinds are loaded with Maltodextrin and sometimes dextrose, which are worse on your glucose than regular sugar. So are most flavored pork rinds. Get the plain pork rinds and add your own seasoning at home. You can make a BBQ flavored spice mix/rub with smoked paprika, garlic powder, dry mustard, parsley, cumin, salt & pepper, and blend it in a spice grinder and sprinkle on your pork rinds (or veg, mashed cauliflower, eggs, whatever).
