Hey Alfie you should make a video about Oletul Galati and how they went from playing in the same Champions League group as Manchester United to being fan owned in the Romanian 3rd division
@valiciprian20612 жыл бұрын
You mean Otelul Galati,right? Of course there was also Unirea Urziceni and FC Vaslui that played in Europe and had good results. In my opinion they collapsed because the state doesn't want sporting achievement anymore. The so called Romanian "businessmen" became rich from having business with the government and like the oligarhs in Russia are from secret services. These kind of people also don't care for sport . They care only if the sport can earn them some money. If they didn't they don't care anymore. So the only thing that we Romanians can do to save football is to copy the Germans and create new teams from scratch fan owned . Otherwise football in Romania will cease to exist.

@@emekaoguguo5023 Football as a whole, was more of a sport and less of a business back then. There were no financial super clubs meaning players would decide to join clubs for reasons other than just wages. Raith Rovers winning the Scottish League cup, something like that won't ever happen again. But it isn't just the masses of money invested into the PL for Scottish footballs decline. The turn of the millennium saw 'no ball games' signs all over every town and city in Scotland. Which saw a 'Playstation Generation' of youngsters in Scotland as opposed to a sporting generation, with an increase in obesity. Because before Andy Robertson and Keiran Tierney started playing professional football, there was a drought of talented young Scottish players coming through the system.

Salary cap would be great eh - then anyone can grow but not dominate due to finances only. there's a *bit* of a ceiling in the premier league for that tho anyway there's, so much money in the league that anyone from the top 6 could spend £100m+ in a transfer window and challenge again

@@fpldirectory6753 Within 5 years Newcastle will no doubt be at the point of spending 400 - 500 million per window. The Saudis bought it for one reason, and that is to directly compete with the owners of Man City, it's just a status thing. Newcastle will soon have commercial revenue coming from everywhere. The owners are way too powerful for anyone involved to stop them, they have way too much influence over governments never mind someone like the premier league or UEFA.
