Interestingly enough, Hódmezővásárhely translates to Beavers' Field Marketplace in Hungarian. Quite the town name if you asked me
@MiklosHajma2 жыл бұрын
Well, almost - hód means beaver, mező means field, vásárhely is more like a place when you can held a fair or market (vásár is a fair, hely means place). Fair as in a large, open area one. Not really used in contemporary Hungarian though. It's a funny name, even from a Hungarian point of view :)

The middle part in the logo of both clubs from Bayern is just the flag of Bayern, the German state. To call this copying from one another goes a bit to far for me, since both clubs' logo design was: state that you are from Bavaria, put the flag of Bavaria in the middle and make a circular crest. It is just extremely hard to end up significantly more different than both clubs did.
@unstoppableExodia2 жыл бұрын
As much as Alfie may have neglected to mention that the blue and white check is the flag of Bavaria he did show Bayern Munich’s previous club crests and demonstrate that Bayern Munich adopted that particular design after the other club had already been using it.

The shape of the badge is way too similar, if you look at any other football badge they really don't need to have the flag in it. If the flag were the only similarity it would be one thing, but it's not.

Fun fact: Bayern Alzenau do actually do not compete in the bavarian football system/pyramid. Since they are located so far in the North west of bavaria, they chose toa ssociate with the foodball federation of Hesse rather. Mainly because all of the clubs there in the Oberliga or Regionalliga are actually way closer than their counterparts in Bavaria making travel a lot easier historically and also for more intense local rivalries.

Fun Fact to FC Bayern Alzenau: Although they are from Bavaria, they don't play in Bavaria, since they are much closer to Frankfurt, Darmstadt and Mainz than to the rest of Bavaria. You didn´t looked very good in Portugal if you just found 2 club crests similar to the big 3 clubs there. The beginning of a lot of clubs in Portugal was as a affiliated club, for example Sporting Braga started as an affiliated club to Sporting Portugal. 20 years ago you if you watched through the leagues you would see at least 2-3 Sporting, Benfica or Porto (this one a bit less then the other 2 and mostly in the north region) copies per leagues. And if you look further you would find a lot of clubs outside of Portugal which are Sporting or Benfica inspired created by club supporters with also similar badges.

Bayern and Bayern both use the national flag of Bayern (Bavaria) that's why they are the same. The Leverkusen Logo, the Braunschweig Logo and one of the Fortune Düsseldorf logos all contain the Red Lion with four visible claws and a split tail, not because they stole from each other but because all three cities were at one point ruled by descendants of Henry the Lion and Mathilda Plantagenet. They used the English Plantagenet Lion and had it standing up and with a split tail. At least 100 cities in Central Europe have the Lion on the Logo. My hometown Düsseldorf has the Lion holding an anchor because of the Haber on the river Rhine. I once meet a French Guy in Lima and was really irritated that he wore a shirt with the Logo of my hometown, till he told me that it was the Logo of his hometown somewhere close to Strasbourg.
