I love these they're free flowing and abstract. I think my favorite page is the one that you took your frustrations out on the page as that can be very therapeutic. I know i have times where I'm upset and just want to splatter paint or throw something around. Its stress relieving.

Dear Paula, I would like you to have my deepest, most grateful THANK YOU! I've had this almost unbearable, nagging feeling of "I must CREATE something!" since I was a child, but when it comes to it, I freeze in a terrified state of "doing it wrong". So I usually stick to crafts where the end result is predetermined and guaranteed, like friendship bracelets, crocheting or diamond painting. But I still feel something struggling to break free from inside of me. Your videos mean the world to me, they might just be the way to train myself to be brave, and shed my mental chains! What you do here matters a lot! :)

I’ve donde it to create prints out of smaller paintings and to show collectors mockups of how a commission might look After I play in the Smartist app, I use professional printing services to print on canvas. Your source image needs to be really good

Thank you for such a fun video! I love your pieces! Rubbing alcohol in a misting spray bottle makes FASCINATING marks in wet paint. Give that a try! Try from different distances for smaller or larger drops. It's super cool!

@@bycreativepaula You are so very welcome! I should hame mentioned: the wetter the paint, the more impactful the alcohol. If the paint is completely dry it will make little-to-no difference. It'll just get wet and then dry again.

This is a great video, thanks! I’ve wanted to learn how to paint for eons, but because I love realistic art, which I’ve yet to even come close to a fraction of a millionth of a percent of achieving, I’ve barely painted since treating myself to high end materials last December. WOW! the first, brown page is beautiful! ❣❣❣ The first thing I saw in the alcohol drops was fried eggs, then I saw flowers. then I saw cute little ghost like critters. your tree is very pretty. I'm sorry to hear you have trouble with back pain and such.... My neck and shoulders are always very tight, tense, and sore.... but some days are worse than others. I had once what the doctors and specialists called chronic pain too. And I was in a acrylic paint fase then. My hands hurt so much I couldn't hold brushes. Almost frantic I looked around and saw a wash sponge in the kitchen. That I could hold and I started to paint again❤About the pain I had- I saved myself, my body was way acidic, inflammation is an acidic state, about all disease is. And painting saved me too😊❤

@@bycreativepaula thanks! 🥰 I took watercolors with me (although on the train I couldn't use it), some black pens and a pencil as well as a small sketchbook. I sketched a nice view over the city just with the pencil and on the train I tried some linework with the black markers which was a mess 😄 I'm looking forward to your next videos!

How do you come up with your ideas?

It’s honestly so hard to explain! Because everything gives me an idea and then I combine stuff in my head like a crazy person! But most of my best ideas come from repetition if that makes sense ☺️

Depends. Sometimes they are very free flow, sometimes they’re inspired by music videos, tv shows, movies, Pinterest, etc.
