The irony of this is that even though half the world are introverts, we label "boring" from the extrovert perspective. I find extroverts, especially fake ones, HIGHLY BORING. Small talk is boring. Gossip is boring. But in this world, these things are considered exciting. Smh.

No one is boring if you take the time to understand people for who they are and why they behave the way they do. Just because some one does not outwardly exhibit these habits for you to see means that they are boring. Many 'closed up' people, you'll discover, do possess a very wonderful and interesting personality. They just don't care to be so outward and choose not to. AND THEY DON'T HAVE TO. They're comfortable with who they are. Introverts and extroverts both have their place in this world. They both add value in their own ways. To say that someone is boring and expect them to behave like you do is rather highly ignorant and judgemental, Id say.

I must have real bad luck. & here we go with that “ you’re judging!” Lol everything we do has some type of judgement behind it
@kimberlyborosa50973 жыл бұрын
@@AZITHEMLGPRO well if we want to pick at semantics (at a comment I made 3 years ago 😅), 'judgemental' has two different meanings. One, referring to making an objective opinion, which is required at some level in almost any given situation. The other, being critical in a harmful way. One can make a negative judgement without being harmful. In this video, a surface level, negative judgement is passed in a shady manner. A person with an introverted personality looking for help to step out of his or her comfort zone, would gravitate to a capable person who is sensitive of and respectful to different personality types. I'm sure you wouldn't go looking for advice from someone who is low-key putting you down. Constructive criticism does not do that.

The thing about opening up is you can open up to the wrong people or persons and they can take advantage of you. God forbid you open up to someone who doesn’t care about you.. If you want to know me ask questions I prefer not to run my mouth to someone who I’m not sure cares or not... you look crazy that way.. You learn a lot about people and their intentions when you sit back and observe.. if they want you and are interested they will inquire about you...

I think there are different kinds of opening up though. Don't be too fast to tell them your life story and all the sad things and problems you go through, that's more on the side of "talking too much" and makes you unpleasant and vulnerable, both you don't want. Opening up to strangers means giving them an intelligently chosen insight into your life that makes them curious about you. That sounds easier than it is and takes delicate handling and pre-thought, but is the essence of being a very interesting person. The same tip easier described would probably be to stay on the surface of your life and just occasionally allowing your conversation partner to see through that layer into the second layer, reveal something slightly personal that doesn't actually make you vulnerable, but makes you appear more vulnerable, human, mysterious, adventurous, whatever. If you think she implied to tell delicate things to strangers then clearly you did not listen well enough or didn't understand her message at least.

Tiffany Ann sorta the same for me. I genuinely enjoy peace, quiet, and stability for a significant amount of time, but every now and then i will convince myself to be "boring" or not worth the pursuit to others so that they lose interest and can't tell what i have to offer to ward off intimacy, so much so that its become a habit that occurs without my meaning to (which she also mentioned). I can turn on the charm and passion but its an effort now

I'm a guy, went on a date with a highly boring woman. Shy, closed up, does not develop conversation, practically gave me one lined answers whenever I tried to pick up the conversation with a new topic or question. I spent 5 hours with her, two of them watching a movie, and I got practically nothing from her. She would laugh whenever I said something humorous but wouldn't take it anywhere. I swear she must have asked me 3 or 4 questions, and they were mostly in response to the same question I asked her. The initial attraction I felt for her got destroyed. I initially thought it was an age gap thing, cause I'm in my late 30s and she is around 21, but ultimately I think it boiled down to her personality or lack thereof.

Hey Monique, just discovered you. Thank you for the video, I love that you're a black woman too. So my thing is that 99% of the time ppl only talk about themselves and don't actually show interest in others, others being myself. And I'm not the type to 'compete' with ppl like that. I'm not just going to walk up and start talking about myself or randomly open up to ppl who have no interest in getting to know me or even care to ask anything about me. I truly believe that there are ppl out there who are reciprocal and inquire about others but I do NOT come across those ppl. I encounter ppl who love to talk about themselves, their lives,stories and don't ask about others or allow them to get a word in. As a result, I am usually quiet. Why bother when most ppl don't even care to take an interest? Also I am a 28yo black woman and it just seems that black women in general are regarded as society's trash; not respected, cared for, and definitely not worth taking an interest in. That is how it seems. I have many passions and interests but if ppl don't even bother getting to know me...what then?

Dapper Owl812 thank you!!! people say quiet people have to be a friend in order to get a friend and interest in others but...what if others not even bothering to get to know you! a lot of times when I was younger people ask me why I don't talk and nothing else. I can inquire to someone about their day and and most of the time they're fully talking about themselves and don't spend the time to know me or show interest. it's confusing while you listen to them while they don't care to find out more about you. which one is it?

What a toxic video. Women, don't let anyone tell you you were "boring" or less worth than others, not by a friend, not by a stranger and not by a so-called relationship coach who makes money by increasing the insecurities of their clients. Have confidence! It is totally okay to be "boring", to be the one who does the talking, to not be interested in someone (though you might want to reconsider if this is a person you want to keep close), to not always be super outgoing and happy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a "highly boring woman" - and most probably you are not even one.

I don't even know how you got into my feed today, but I'm so glad you did. I'm a married woman, however, I always call myself boring. lol. I loved what you said about valuing your future more than your fears. As a woman who was abandoned by both parents at a young age, losing one to drugs and the other to suicide...both my sister and I have always been a tad fearful. It takes us alot longer to trust ANYONE, much less a man...so it's a 1,000 wonders we ever got married...much less sustain a relationship. I am on the outside, a bubbly person, because I was trained early that someone needed to lift everyone up. As time has progressed, I've felt burdened by this and sometimes angry because I feel that there is not that same level surrounding me in times where I may need to be lifted up. So, that's when old fears may come back in to haunt me. What I've always tried to do, however, is push myself to go outside that comfort zone as you mention...no matter how small or big the task might be. That has helped me to succeed in most things, but I've still never been able to completely shake returning to old fears. So, I wanted to thank you for this video and now I will check out your other stuff since you seem to be an inspirational gal. I've recently lost one of our old cats and have been in a depression, so any light coming my way will help lift me back up and reenergize me to continuing to lift my hubby up during this time and others. We are isolated people, aside from whenever I can teach my beading classes, so it's just he and I...which means I've got to get my groove back, so to speak...and appreciate positive influences such as this video of yours. Have a sparkle-riffic day! PS...you are beautiful, btw. And...I loved your jewelry. I make handmade jewelry, so it captured my eye first thing. lol.

You are so beautiful! I think the most significant point you made was to make your passions known and not keep them a secret. When you're doing what you love, you will automatically look prettier, be more interesting, and enjoy your life in truth ☺ Being overly reserved is definitely my weakness and it's been a habit that has dubbed me "boring" and "sad." Thanks for the video, it's very helpful!

Hi people. I just realized that I don't trust any of these popular relationship advisors on KZbin. The reason why is because they are making a following giving advice warning women to change everything about our existence, but you don't see anyone making a following urging men to hold themselves to any standard at all. Or, if anyone knows of such a channel, can you mention or link it? I suddenly feel entirely disinterested in hearing a peep about becoming anything other than the person I've worked to be this far for the sake of "inspiring" a partner through my highly calibrated, highly strategic behavior. That's beyond insulting of an expectation at this point. Also, it seems to compromise safety to be modifying self to these degrees for the sake of attracting another person. I swear it subtly feels like some set up for repression, oppression, abuse, submission (in a bad way). I'm out!! 🤷♀️

Patricia your self esteem has dimished. Well done, very honest. Embrace being 60. You have something so many lack...wisdom, patience and recognition of who you are. Start reinventing yourself by re-exploring and reconnecting with yourself again. Even if that's just trying a new lipstick. And for the record, you are still beautiful. Good luck x
@nataliefrances63196 жыл бұрын
I Like Cheese listen here. You may think your flippant comment is funny but take a good hard look at yourself. What you have said is unkind, disrespectful and makes you both immature and ugly. You are on this page, watching a video to better yourself and yet you have replied to a comment beating someone else down. You will not remain young forever and you want to deal with the selfish heart that you carry. No man wants a woman who pretends to be nice to him and yet shits on others and unkind people do not hold friends. You should do well to remember that as a woman your job is to lift another woman, regardless of age, as a woman raised you. You clearly do not listen, as Monique spoke of being a giver. Take heed, search your heart and get some soul, as only an arrogant, conceited girl would be so cutting. You have much to learn.

Hey, Monique, this was great and a twist on "what not to do" rather than "what to do" really got my attention. It takes a person like you who knows the Black woman as a very "churched" individual and speak her language without overdoing the morality aspects. I appreciate the reflection of some scripture without overemphasizing her moral responsibilities. The Christian religion, was not sown in love during Slavery, but in humiliation and fear passed down to all its progenitors. We still suffer today. This leads me to my thoughts about Black women using "church-talk to avoid intimacy or vulnerability. They seem more vulnerable to a spirit than a human being. My sister lost parts of her marriage because of this total commitment to the Lord not her husband. Other things began to crumble also, but I saw this firsthand at the age of 15. I then began to see it throughout my life, Black women talking so much about Jesus... and using quotes and scriptures to have a conversation at a restaurant like God would get her if she did not. (There is a Black male version of this insanity also, about me!) It's like they leave a "woman thou art loosed" convention and come to a date full of the spirit and no grounding to create a human connection. If he is put-off by it she thinks it was God telling her to "move on." Can you speak on this at all? Thank you. Your spiritual voice but not a moralizing one is refreshing! And you are simply beautiful too. "Being mindful" is good language and not scary for dinner conversation. Speaking in tongues at dinner is about God, not me! This actually happened! I also overheard a phone conversation on speaker phone (rude) of praying and speaking in tongues in a public place! They will testify about being stared at while praying in public, "cause we are not ashamed of the gospel!" and the church will applaud them for doing it. lol or cry....
@FEMININEINFLUENCE7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the acknowledgment. Your response has me stumped, in a good way, especially when I hear how women use "church-talk to avoid intimacy or vulnerability. They seem more vulnerable to a spirit than a human being." YES! You've given works to what I've thinking about for some time. It just breaks down to religion vs relationship.

No such thing as a boring woman, just a woman who hasn't found her tribe. What is boring to you might not be boring to someone else. What excites you might not excite other people. Also there are some really mysterious people out there that do not open up, talk about themselves, or have time for other people but they have men chasing them down.
