After decades of trying to be an extrovert I embraced my introverted nature and focussed on harnessing the powers that came naturally to my quiet personality. Silence can convey a sense of mystery and power since it might lead the other side to believe that you are willing to walk away instead of settling for less than the desired outcome. Most people are uncomfortable with silence and using it in negotiations is a good way to get what you want.👍

I realized the true advantages of silence back in 2016. It was summer, I was shepherding our goats (I took the flock out from our yurt to a hill thats about 4 km away, let them graze there for 2 to 3 hours, than return to the yurt while stopping by the natural springs on the way) I usually had to be by myself all day so I download some movies on my phone and watch them ourside. That day it was relatively easy for me, I followed the usual path, filled my bottle with cold water, had my lunch and watched a movie that I liked. But the goats were so slow but I didn't wanted to bother them since they were well behaving and decided to have a nap while they were feeding themselves. After a 20 minute long nap with some music on the background I was so relaxed. I was at ease, it was feeling like as if every second was hours long. I realized how much we were in hurry, even in our most so called calm times. I just sit there, looked at the scenery, didnt think too much, it was tiring, I just let my thoughts drift away. I was one of the most peacful moments in my life. After that day I contuinued to have some breaks from pretty much everything from time to time. I cant do it in winter very often, its cold and theres always a chore that I have to finish. But in summer. With some preperations I can turn a normal day in to a year by slowing my thoughts down.

When you become more silent the more you can observe. The moment you're alone you realized how many real friends are there. When you finally leave your loved one, you finally realized another part of yourself. The smarter you get the more picky you shall get. The more you fear, the less you will see.

Can you please make a video about why some people have the mentality of "I can't trust nobody" and why it is so. Because I can see that I have this issue. I really can't open up to nobody and trust nobody. I think it always have been so. In all this years of my life I only trusted 2 people (friends) and even those I couldn't trust 100%. I just have a huge issue to open with people about my problems and it doesn't actually look like I'm that kind of person, because I'm very social and I always talk and help my friends with their problems. I'm like the psychologist of every one but no one is for me. And I just can't open up about bigger problems of me that I can't solve by myself. I just want to understand why I have this issue and how I can solve it!

What you are writing about yourself kind of comes off as being Paranoid But hey, I'm no doctor and they have covered that subject here. Also, think of it "As having a heighten the sense of awareness" TRUST on its own is a big deal. When you trust you need to know the person has your back 110% and knowing that can help you open up. Maybe this is just me but I've been the quiet type my whole life and I have something to share. Sometimes the silence would slowly kill me because of all the negativity in my mind. It becomes too loud and it didn't bring me any peace at all, in fact it was the opposite. This just to show that being silent can have both positive and negative impacts in oneself. So.. if you ever feel like you're stuck and silence won't help, don't be afraid to reach out to someone and talk about it.

Sometimes saying too much can have a bad effect. It’s best to keep your business to yourself. Or even best when people do ask, just lie about your personal life. Once I realized that I am not legally obligated to share my life with others I found true peace.

I have always been known as the quiet girl. This frustrated me for a long time, because I felt like I was so much more than ‘just’ quiet. Now, though, I know it’s a big advantage. I was bullied most of my school life and fell ill with schizophrenia in 2011, but now, I blog about my experiences - through writing, I have ‘found my voice’! If you’re interested in following my recovery journey, I’m on Instagram: georgiasvoices and Facebook: Georgia’s Voice. Thank you for sharing this video :)

This video just showed up here on the Florida West Coast. Now I can see and understand a bit more about myself thanks. This all comes down to what my MOM would say when I did talk too much. "SON GOD GAVE YOU TWO EARS AND ONE MOUTH, SO HEAR MORE AND TALK LESS" haha today as an adult I do. Helps to cut down on the BS from others.

It's interesting, because from all I've read about the 'typical' inpatient psychiatric environment, the belief seems to be that every possible minute spent in the company of others is therapeutic. This supposedly prevents one from brooding or nursing a low morale or self-esteem. (I disagree; I think that a solitary yet productive activity like journal-writing or meditating for even a short while each day is beneficial.) My co-workers on the night shift are chatty and I do talk with most of them, but my breaks are my own time. I always sit with a book so that others know I read to relax, and am not merely 'antisocial'. I'm not, but I've always been an introvert.
