I would disagree that their fear of abandonment is “irrational”. I think they realize how toxic they are and are constantly wondering if they have finally pushed things too far. I’ve read most of them end up lonely and alone because they are so mean and insulting to even their caretakers.

My Mom is an extreme covert narcissist. She is so extreme she pretends she is allergic to electricity, thinks 5g is ionizing, earth is flat, and she is so enetitled she is a “sovereign citizen” which means she pretends our laws don’t apply to her. Could you do a video on Sovereign Citizens which is a strange sub-type of covert narcissism?

I was her scapegoat after she divorced my Dad when twin bro & I were 14. As adults now brother grew up into her protégé and is also a sovereign citizen covert narcissist and I am their scapegoat. We are totally estranged. Narcissism is a mental illness.

Except for maybe the flat Earth thing. The other things have validity. Have you actually looked into them or do you just dismiss everything she says?

Btw, having different beliefs is not narcissism. Assuming someone is ignorant without doing any research into the things they care about and try to share with you is pretty narcissistic, though.

Oh my! A student asked the Sunday school teacher about a scripture the student didn’t understand in our lesson. The teacher gave an explanation and student asked another question on top of that and then another. The student plainly did not understand the answers. This happened after the 3rd question: The Sunday School teacher hollered very loudly at the student, pointed at him and said: “You’re a sinner! I know these things; I study these things! I’ve been a student of the Bible since 1974. It was horrible. We would always be welcoming to him because of his knowlege. But since then no one wants him to return. He acted as though he was the only authority, we should just listen, and don’t ask questions.

I love this video! These are the insights I need at the moment, especially as an empath. I can feel how the narcissist in my life affects me. I can feel the nervousness and intensity in this person's (narcissist's) voice, as I speak with a polar opposite calm voice. I can sense that everyone else in the room feels that difference of intensity versus calm, and can also sense how the narcissist makes others feel in that same room. I can now look at the narcissist from the outside and am able to interject humour to ease tensions, even getting the narcissist to break down and have a genuine laugh. The narcissist still goes back to scheming more things, but the narcissist has become less of a threat now that others can see what this person is.

Over the past years you have become really important to my life, I have to apologize because in high stress and after a stroke I was very rude to you. Can you believe this there’s actually PTSD based on stroke or stroke PTSD. I want you to know that I’m truly sorry, but I also want to say I am thankful to you and your work. You’ve always been a very beautiful woman strong and intelligent. I tell you this from the bottom of my heart and because I feel I disrespected you and your work. Please forgive me and accept my prayers on your life and your love ones. God bless you woman! I had a chemic stroke and I’ve lost speech and writing and so as half of my body, as it was hemiplegic. You wouldn’t believe the amount of torture I have endured. You are a very important part of my support system, I really want you to know this because you are a blessing itself. Cheers. (I am actually OK I work so hard, on myself and the situation that trust me I am fine)

I think that my sister's Golden Child status has led to many narcissistic tendencies. She was taught that in order to be loved, she had to compete and win. Trophies and achievements and bringing pride to my parents gave her a special status. My brother and I were pitted against her and fell short. We were beaten and neglected. We are both extreme people pleasers. We were only praised when we had no needs, no wants and put others before ourselves. Our sister was praised when she put her wants and her needs above everyone else's needs. Her needs and wants and demands aligned perfectly with our parent's needs and wants. A child who brought them glory. Once she quit her sport, she became a real problem for my parents. They had created a self-absorbed, competitive, entitled, spoiled-rotten, raging, demanding brat. Then, they wringed their hands, "After all we've done for her." Meanwhile, brother and I learned to expect nothing. Sister demands everything and everyone's obedience. These monsters are created at home in their early years. Personally, I believe that most narcissistic people were the Golden Child.

Narcissists are really awkward with or uncomfortable with saying a genuine hello or good bye. They are unable to let go of their constant insidious control issues which might, in turn, make them seem real or even vulnerable…they live constantly in illusion hardly ever able to interact normally with other beings similar and not similar to themselves….🤔 it’s usually some kind of grandiose charade….🤮

Everyone claims they can do a better job. Be my guest. I trained my replacements to be just as good as me. If they don't live up to your expectations, find someone else who will. I never told them they were obligated to stay, the door swings both ways.

Because they are not the center of attention. They know once you get to the birthday party, all of the attention will be on your grandchild, and for a Narcissist this is intolerable, they MUST be the center of attention at all times. By starting a fight, they ensure they have your attention,if only for those few moments.
