Thanks for sharing these videos, I have been learning a lot about gen/shovels from you. I am building a 67 FLH and going to install an S&S E also. In this video, I see you have changed the solid wire throttle cable out to a braided wire cable but still going through the headlebar. I have heard of this but this is the first I have seen. Could you give me some tips and insight on doing this? Thanks

It’s not difficult at all. I recently had to change this wire as it broke a few months ago. Cutting the braided wire is the toughest part. Try to stay away from snips and pliers, rather, use a cutting wheel to provide a nice clear cut on the braided cable. I pushed it up from the carb and up to the handlebar.

You will need to use an added spring

I'm curious about your set up. Can you say what size jets main and intermediate your running? And your mixture setting how many turns out? Also how many turns out is your accelerator pump? Thanks

Not exactly sure. I’m going to be doing a rebuild and put in new intake seals this week. So I’ll be back with some info

Looking to add an S&S to my 67 FLH. I was going to swap the throttle out for dual cable system. Looks like you have single only. Does that operate okay?

It operates great. You need to add a spring though. It makes it a dead man’s throttle. Since it’s wire braided cable, you would need a spring if you wanted a single internal wire.

Never seen any one use bearing grease on the spacer before. Helping to seal ?

Yea I usually put some in there to keep the seal “lubricated”. I know it gets hot in the manifold and rubber can get brittle. Just me...
