Perimenopause is 10 years or less prior to menopause. Menopause is one day of your life: the day you have not a had a period after 12 consecutive months. Post menopause is every day after the day you reach “menopause” I learned this from Dr. Sara Gottfried. Her book is the Hormone Cure.

@@HH-gv8mx you can make your own magnesium liquid with pure magnesium flakes (the one I use is by a company called Life-flo a salt from the ancient Zechstein seabed). I mix a half water half salt solution and rub it on the soles of my feet every night. Also, Dr. Mist makes a deodorant spray which is magnesium based. I remembered my Mother using all those herbs 🌿 like thymes,sage, oreganos etc to cook. Also she brewed teas specially chamomile and peppermint to helping the digestion and to drink cold if we were thirsty. Still today we used all them in our daily lives. @pilatesyogataichifit6 жыл бұрын
1) Actually, every woman (or human) is aging... 2) Flaxseed has been shown to increase intestinal inflammation (also true in my experience). 3) Bone Broth is not suitable for anyone with a histamine issue, which is related to liver inflammation/toxification and most perimenopausal women have liver detox issues too. 4) Fermented foods are not suitable for people with SIBO... probiotics may be better. 5) Cruciferous veggies are good, but if your oestrogen is low... how is that going to help? 6) Soy depresses thyroid function and many perimenopausal women have some measure of hypothyroidism 7) Sprouts... not sure if red clover is a good idea when you are perimenopausal and/or estrogen dominant? 8) "Everyone has PMS"? Really? Some women never have any PMS at any time in their lives and some only start noticing some PMS-like symptoms when they hit their my mid-40s... 9) Bone health depends on progesterone too, not just estrogen! 10) Any menopausal and perimenopausal women will have low progesterone... and if your doctor confirms this, even after the measures mentioned above (particularly vitex), why not have some progesterone cream to reduce those bothersome acute problems ... of course, on a cyclic pattern, and not too much. I appreciate these two doctors' help and information but I really think it is easy for them to talk, they are men after all! :-) I mean... saying "just use the right food"... of course, that is very important, but some of us are already doing all the right things, yet we still have unwanted symptoms, our doctors are not helping, saying "it is a natural phase, get on with it!"

Warning! This is a long one. It seems if you created this video just to tease me. Ha-ha. I am a food scientist and technologist and qualified chef and I love cooking (or should I say loved, my depression makes it less enjoyable these days). I am good at creating new recipes and just created an “estro-inspired” by you (too bad you hate cooking so it’s no gift to you). But I am a real mess when it comes to managing my menopause my way. Although, I have to admit to making some progress lately by just learning a lot about it. However, it’s not near enough. Healthcare in Canada does not help it either, I had to wait for 6 months just to get to see a gynecologist when I was suffering pain in my low tummy. Waiting 6 months for an appointment? It’s a drag. And then you are given a 10-minute consultation, forget the attention to your “menopausal needs”. I have a better luck with my ND now and, hopefully, together with her, we will straighten my journey (loved your comment about the journey). She is an aspiring ND in her late 30s, gorgeous, as we all are at that age, and she certainly doesn’t want to lose it. So, we are learning together, I guess. She is learning from her patients in a way too. I am, just like yourself a learning nerd, one degree after another. Need lots of vitality to continue doing that. So glad I've discovered your University. And there is a project looming inspired by you which makes an outlook on menopausal years so much brighter. One problem though. You know, Barbie, I am tired of you. I go to bed with you, I wake up to you. Meno this, Meno that. Barbie this, Barbie that. It is like going for a walk along a rushing mountain river, the air is so fresh it makes you feel tired. But I cannot stop walking. Your videos are also addicting like chocolate candies. I’d have one and think, it’s enough for today, but then I keep going for more until I feel overexcited from all that chocolate. Yes, I am tired. But I am learning a lot and learning is always tiresome. Thank you, thank you, and thank you. And to all participants in the discussion, it's like a classroom each time you come here.

sylvia Briggs there are plenty of other options for use no dairy people. Be sure to find organic grass fed beef if you choose to use beef. And organic chickens.

Hey, I just absolutely love you guys I'm always there, just a little bit of advice if I could about the video and you're chalk board. You guys are all to the left of the screen, a lot of space on the right, and if you were to center the chalkboard and then both of you stand on both sides of the chalkboard then we can see what you're writing. As it is, you've been standing in front of what your writing and it's hard to follow, see and write down. I love following you and I love writing down the information that you provide. Also a little bigger and legible not to be too picky lol. I really like to take the information with me and put it in my study.

Hi I don't normally comment on KZbin content, but before taking any herbal remedies please check with your Dr. Particularly if you have any underlying health conditions or are taking any other medications. Herbal remedies are seen as safer alternatives but like any other medication they can come with side effects too, can affect the efficacy of other medicines you might be prescribed. I have been treated for breast cancer this year, it is oestrogen fed , so I have been advised not to take black cohosh, red clover, high dose tumeric supplements because interfere with how the tamoxifen works! Treat herbal supplementation like you would any other medical treatment. Do your research thoroughly first

Yes, Crystal Star’s Women’s Best Friend and Fibro Defense; I have been taking these for years, plus plenty, dozens, other supplements, have no symptoms whatsoever which women experience. Still sleep like a baby, no flashes, no sweats, no mood swings, still work 10-12 hours a day, stable as ever.

I disagree regarding dairy..... it should not be eaten if a women is hormonally imbalanced. Animals that are excreting milk have too much estrogen that is passed on in the milk. I have improved a lot since I have deleted dairy.

I read that Irish sea moss is good for collagen.
@anastasiae.53386 жыл бұрын
Collagen is likely derived from bones or cartilage of animals, so it's not likely okay for vegans. I don't know what they get it from, but that's logically how it's produced given what it is. Glucosamine supposedly achieves the same thing. Since this doctor is full of it, I doubt collagen really does anything, either. Except take money out of your pocket, which is what most supplements do.
