I just left a massage tonight where the massage therapist used this over my spine, neck bones, hips, and tail bone. I thought she knew what she was doing until I got home and started looking up the manuals after being in worse pain than I was before I get there....

Sorry to hear that. Give it a couple days. You may feel better after the pain settles.

Dr. Fields - your videos are so helpful to me! I would like to get one of these guns. I am a petite female and noticed they offer a "mini". Would you say it is better to get the big one with the different attachments? The size of the mini looks nice to me. I hope you are an affiliate and get credit for these purchases.

Hi Roberta, The new 3.0 full size that just came out is smaller than the one i use in the video and it may be perfect for you. I like the mini for travel/the car/golfing/etc.. All that being said, i think you'll be happy with either. No person should be without them. ; )

Dr. Fields, I am 70 with general leg lymphodema. Would the massge gun be helpful? Any other self help treatment suggestions? Love your helpful and upbeat videos!

Hi Catherine, I highly recommend a massage gun. Vibration platforms, rocking chairs, walking, etc. Move your body and move your lymph! Also, drink lots of water and healthy diuretics like cucumbers and watermelon to keep fluids flowing in and out of your body. move...move...move!

I love the forced smile that basically says "I can't believe I got to explain these things, this stuff should be taught in elementary!" In which case I'd better go back to elementary. As even I learned a new thing here.

Is it bad to use around your temples? I've done it a few times and it feels great but I don't want to hurt my eyes.
@dradamfields2 жыл бұрын
You have to be VERY careful to just vibrate the muscle and not your skull. I use it almost parallel to the bone and the tool is skimming over the muscle rather than pounding it. check out how I use it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqTZhXWVf6qhsJI

As you mention, there are organs and potential fragile spots...like floating ribs...that need to be taken into consideration. You mention the use of a lacrosse ball for Psoas and related areas. Do you have any opinions on more aggressive options like the Psoa-rite and Thrival meat grinder. People seem to get impressive results but they are pretty extreme compared to a ball with regard to the penetration and pressure achievable? thanks Joe
@dradamfields3 жыл бұрын
Hey Joe! Start with the ball and see how it goes. Make sure you "palm" the ball to ensure a deeper massage. I like the tools you mentioned and releasing the tension in your psoas will give your structure and even your emotional state some wonderful gifts.

What about quadratum lomborum area is some dangerous for kidney's?
@dradamfields3 жыл бұрын
I think you're okay if you go light. Be careful of the floating rib and, if your kidney is talking to you, hold back.

Seems like it would be somewhat unrealistic for a lay -person using a massage gun on themselves to avoid the trouble spots when trying to release deep Psoas issues as you have to get very close to vulnerable organs/nerves/atertery. Perhaps a person in the trades..ie you or a massage therapist could have sufficient experience....but a lay person like myself is going to run right over all the areas you mentioned. Even a trained therapist managed to snap your rib.

I think there's some truth to what you are saying. A lot of people who use this channel don't have money or a lot of access to healthcare. I try to empower them (and everyone else) to take control of their own healing. Another option for the psoas would be a lacrosse ball in your palm while laying face down and the ball is up in the area. No RPM to deal with and very effective. Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Flyboard ; )
