You do not truly need to flee the scene of the crime, you can walk a short distance away drop the items on the ground or in a chest/crate you have there and return to allow the npc to search you setting them back to happy go lucky mode.

Another tip I have from my play through, other than that about couch coop with controllers and dual screens I wrote below, is there's no need to spend points in Loremaster. At least I haven't found the need, there's always a merchant that's very near the start of each act who can identify any items. Unless Loremaster has another feature, it's safe to skip that skilltree. Great series of videos, I wish I had watched them before I was so deep in to the game :P

It doesn't matter if you don't have an elf in your party (for eating body parts). Just use Fane's Maks of the Shapeshifter (or a crafted one), transform into an elf and eat the body parts. Works with all races. Place a teleporter pyramid near a Source Jar, then never worry about your source points ever again.

When trying to pick pocket, use the other member of your group to lock surrounding NPC's in conversation to stop them wandering and looking in your direction. Give you a lot more time to 'peruse' the wares :D

Use the mirror on Lady Vengeance to adjust your parties stats. You can basically re-roll your character and everyone in your party once you leave Ft. Joy. Create a save point where you can try out different builds if you like to too! Save all the skill books you find and use to mirror to adjust your skill points so you can learn those skill books. You can pretty much learn all the skills in game on just one character if you wanted to.

On the topic of Teleportation, you can pass around the Gloves of Teleportation you get from the Crocs.. the crazy thing is that you can be on the other side of the map and still pass things around in your inventory! Good for teleporting someone up a ledge, passing the gloves on, and then teleporting the other.

My main tip after playing 46 hours with my friend, is controller couch coop is damn fun. You can split your party in to two characters each, on two screens each have their own. And when it comes to a fight, if the screen becomes one and it bugs you, simply hit "start" when it's not your turn, and it makes the active player's display one single display. With controllers, you move the analogue stick to move your character and that can make it feel even more interactive than clicking to have them walk. Also don't feel too worried about the UX because there's a discrete controller based UX that is surprisingly well done and very effective. So 2 screen couch coop, use controllers, use that start button, and get your fun on.

You can fast travel to way points from anywhere on your map Summons only get stronger with higher summoning, they don't scale with intelligence In general take it slower in this game than you would in other rpg's if ur knew to turn based like me clicking the scale in the middle of the bartering window instantly puts the right amount of gold from each party into the transaction box

've used this one before in the marketplace. Just make sure you get everyone out of dodge as soon as you finish the deed. I usually have the thief run off with everyone but the distractor. Then the distractor disengages and pyramids away before the mark can A: realize they've been robbed and B: realize they've been assaulted.

That works!? Every time I teleport one of my allies, they seem to take fall damage. I assumed this would damage any NPC, not to mention forcefully teleporting an unwilling NPC would be interpreted as a hostile act and engage combat anyway. I'll have to experiment with this...

This is a dirty tactic, but you can have one character talk to an enemy NPC, then use your other characters to take out the competition before completing the dialogue with the main baddy. Think of this as a permanent crowd control ability. Warning, sometimes if you start taking out the mini-bosses' buddies, the guy aggros and it's a full on war; however, while talking, you can cast your buff abilities and speed through the chat wheel. Abuse this ability. It's not a bug. I call this, "Misdirection". Do this when pickpocketing as well >:)

I've been playing a Lone Wolf campaign with a friend and there's one thing I did notice there - Enemies LOVE to focus target the person with the lowest HP. I'm playing an undead tanky geo/necromancer/summoner with a shield and he's playing a rogue. To get enemies to target me, I keep my Constitution lower than his (we both have pretty high con, so it ain't a problem of too few HP). Enemies will focus me a ton and I've got all manner of armor restoration. Geomancy also gives a lot of wonderful oil fields and combined with a minor splash into Aero for teleport, you can port particularly annoying units far far away and hit them with an oil field for some soft CC. The spider summon from Necromancy also makes a fine tank that they like to target as well, especially enemy casters, to take some heat off you while giving very high physical damage. Setting up oil fields before a battle is also really handy. Things like a rogue might use their own teleports to get over them - which means you can teleport them *right* back into the oil afterwards.

Summoning an incarnate on an element gives it different damage types and resistances along with special skills. The summoning 10 incarnate is really powerful, especially early on.

If you know you're about to get into a fight with someone you're talking with, keep in mind that if you use buffs on that character, such as Fortify and Armor of Frost, they will stay on that character indefinitely until you start the fight. Normally, when you use buffs in real-time they will tick down in real-time, but here you can buff the talking character and let your cooldowns reset before starting the fight. It works even better in multiplayer, where you can also buff the players listening in on the conversation and they will stay on them until you start fighting.

This is also handy for when dialogue goes to a skill check and you have a buff that will better your chance of success. See sill check, switch to other character, cast clear mind/bedroll/encourage/whatever, then continue the conversation.

the thing I love about turn based games like this, is that I remember every fight. It's like an epic event that I can retell. It's very tactical and crazy stuff happens that you had no idea would go the way they do. Like my mage Fane, sacrificing himself in a wonderful explosion while surrounded by voidwoken. This isn't a tip exactly and the situations where you can utilize it are quite niche. Enemies more often than not don't unlock doors that are already locked. So if you can figure out a way to sneak/teleport into locked rooms or barred gates for instance you can teleport enemies inside one at a time to make things loads easier. An example would be in Fort Joy where the main gate in is heavily guarded and barred by a locked gate obviously. However if you find another way into the Fort you can actually be on the other side of that gate and teleport the mobs in 1 by 1 for some extra XP and the other enemies have never made a move to open the gate and help their helpless comrades. Kind of a cheesy strat but it helped me and my friend get out of what was a pretty hard fight.

put opportunist talent to your melee character teleport enemy next to your melee character if the enemy trying move away from your melee character, you melee character would automatically attack him. learn executioner talent for melee character if that character killed an enemy during fight, it will gain free 2AP. if you having trouble with big bad werewolf fight since he's got several minions that continually buffing him, multiplying his damage physical attack damage, just wear off his magic armor then cast dominate mind to him. He will be charmed and joins your side for one turn and watch in awe as he one shot some of his minions. ultimate ninja builds ~weapons : dual wield knife ~attributes: finesse and wits (wits increase critical chance 1% for every point) ~talent : executioner (gain 2 ap for killing an enemy), hothead (crit and accuraccy +10% when hp is full), mnemonic (free 3 memory slots), parry master (dodge +10% for dual wield), opportunist (if enemy standing next to you move, you'll automatically attack him) turturer (status effect you inflict to enemy last longer) what a rush (gain 1 ap when your hp below 50%) ~learns all instant teleportation skill : teleportation, nether swap, phoenix dive, tactical retreat and cloack and dagger ~learn polymorph skill : invisibility (turn invisible) and maybe chicken claw (turn enemy to be a chicken) ~learn some scoundrel skill, most important is : backslash(teleport behind enemy and attack them), throwing knife (just imagine as ninja shuriken or kunai), rapture tendon (awesome skill that make enemy take damage as they move, good combo with chicken claw) sleeping arm (render enemy unable to use non magical skill) terrifying cruelty (bleed enemy and terrify him, terrified enemy will trying to move away from you and wont attack, great combo with opportunist talent and rapture tendon), fan of knife (just like throwing knife but it target all enemy in range at once), adrenaline (gain 2 ap for one turn, next turn lost 2 ap, combo with elf's flesh sacrifice skill for more ap in one turn) ~learn warfare skill : battle stomp (knocking enemy down always a good choice) ~some additional skill : vampiric hunger (life steal for 2 turns), ice fan (ice shuriken than freeze enemy) vampiric hunger aura (give life steal benefit for ally around you), evasive aura (raise dodge chance 90% for you and ally around you). there you got a most badass go anywhere, backstabber and the most ninja-like class you ever get in this game.

If you don’t mind crafting and buying potions, a medium magic armor potion is like 120 something. With the five star diner talent that makes it 240. A 50% fire resistance potion becomes 100 and you’re fireproof. The talents I like are executioner, savage sortilege, torturer, five star diner. Delay turn can be very handy.

Want to do some extra poison damage to your enemies free of charge? Try combining your weapon with an ooze barrel, it'll add some poison damage to your hits, allowing your melee attacks to damage magical shields as well. Just keep in mind you can't undo this and attacking undead with poisoned weapons actually heals them! Keep a spare weapon if you're going to do that.

My tip...Don't worry about sneaking to set up your characters in a fight that has dialogue before hand. Simply separate the character chain, then initiate the dialogue with your melee character or whomever you want in that position. Switch to different characters to move around with impunity. The dialogue will stay paused.

As a rule of thumb races talk best to people of the same type. Not always, but generally. A couple of quests have no satisfactory endings. Just like life Sneak one will get you past light red "vision cones' if they don't move. You'll need better if they move or combine. Some skills, like sucker punch don't check against physical or magical armour. Use them on a dangerous foe early in fights and then Teleport them far away so that the chaff can be dealt with. If an enemy is using summoned creatures or other skill based abilities to increase numbers go all out on that controller first using Teleport or some other 'bring or fetch' spell.

Teleport also does physical dmg. Anything that you teleport will also dmg anything that is touching its targeting circle. the bigger the targets targeting circle, the more area is effected. Useful for ripping through enemy armor. :)

You can craft lockpicks by combining any hammer and nails. Crafting in general can give you a huge advantage in this game. Hybrid skillbooks are another good example.

I was a huge Baldurs Gate nerd, you can imagine how this game feels for us somewhat older gamers. Its like they fused the new tech with age old experience. Oh man I pity the players of today with their dumbed down bs games. All are an insult to our neurones. Divinitys greatest achievement lies in the fact that opens an former almost hermetic game-play system and makes it digestible also for new "Gen" average minds. No morons are allowed in this game and this is good so. RPG at its best. 9/10 (for the simple reason that perfection should be unattainable)

If stealing isn't for you you can always level up lucky charm and check every single crate to check if there is juicy loot inside. That is particularly handy if you are playing as lone wolves because of the lack of civil points and allows to not go to the ship every time you need respec.

Note about pickpocketing - get another ally to chat to them, whilst doing this, switch to your thief then pickpocket, separatefrom the party and run away. This will prevent the NPC from moving around and give you chance to run off without being caught! If you have other NPCs walking around and ruins your sneak, get another ally yo split off and chat to them (facing away from your target).

If you take the Lone Wolf talent and prioritize the Summoning skill above all else, you can have Summoning 10 by level 3 and gain access to a frankly overpowered for your level Champion Incarnate. You can respec out of summoning once you get out of Act 1 by using a magic mirror on a boat later, if you want!

Decided to grab this game on my Series X, as an avid RPG lover. Tried all these years later to get into Baldur's Gate 2 again, and I guess modern controllers have got to me (or its the fact I wasn't playing it on PC, unsure), and just did not like the controls. Weirdly, I'm over here hoping that either BG3 has keyboard/mouse support (as I game via the Series X after a long day of work- pairs great with our C1 and controller usage is just convenient to swap between games and video apps), or an ability to fully map out what keys do what so I can fully immerse myself in it. Anyhow, after some research after a random review, I decided that even though the full price was a bit steep on an older game, to give it a shot as A. it has rave reviews and B. you get two games with it with hybrid mod support (giftbags). Now I am going down the rabbit hole of researching all I need to know here/there when its time for me to enjoy KZbin. I am only a few hours in game, but not disappointed in the least. If later game only gets better post Fort Joy, (as reviews state), I think this game is fast becoming my top 3 RPGs of all time. Which is odd to say about a game I never heard of, but is assuredly not early-experience-puppy love, but solid words backed by over 20 years experience with gaming at 39. More so, it is cool my wife finds me playing mild enjoyable (something that hasn't happened with any game since Eve Online circa 2009 era), so that's a cool bonus too. Plus I have been on a hunt to get her to game with me again. (she is no gamer, but did used to play a few DnD games on OG Xbox with me, and enjoyed hogging the 360 during the Fable Era. A game which she lauds/laments about the new one still in being development anytime a game looks similar/or Fable is mentioned in passing. Hoping I can get her on board with this game and we could do a fresh run together!). Anyhow, thanks Game Spot: for the videos on this game, I am enjoying them! Lady of vengeance bottom most ship has a magic mirror that you can freely change stats,civil /combat abilities.

Increase the maximum number of quicksaves from 5 (default) to at least 10. Also, manual save once in a while just in case and use a descriptive save game title. These saves can come in handy. If you just completed a big quest and all the rewards aren't useful, you can load a recent save to try and get a better reward. Go a step further and save games with something to remind you of the rewards (for example "+3 strength axe"), reload, check rewards, save, reload and repeat. Then browse through your savegames and select the best one. This can be tedious, but it's an option when loot is randomized.

You can stop patrolling guards by sending one of your party to speak with them. Especially useful when sneaking a certain tinkerer out of dodge. Just make sure to start the chat so the guard's vision cone is away from the action.

You can teleport items as well. Instead of teleporting someone to a chest n having take a small amount of damage teleport the chest to you. You can also use base spell attacks to blast open doors especially fire spells n the spells, unlike weapons, never break.

Playing a "Death Knight" is easy, necromancer skils have a great synergy with Warfare, since the later enhances the damage of the former, and you can self sustain you're self longer with the hard hiting melee hits healing you. Eh, just something I quickly noticed while considering what to focus my main on, and I bet most skills have similar synergy, like Geo to plastereverything with oil and then igniting that with pyro skills.

i really like playing this game as lone wolf. i just have difficulting on all the side stuff. unlocking chests for amazing equipment or spells. high persuasion. lore for those enchanted items. thievery for free skill books or coin. lone wolf doubles stats and skills but not the ones you use for the open world. i really wish they would double everything since there is only half the available options for ppl wanting a larger challenge.

there is actually a way around this but its rather tedious. Simply utilize 4 party members as per normal, but when you explore only take the other party member with lone wolf. Then when you come back from exploring, pick up your other 2 party members and go to the shop. Make your two lone wolf characters specialize in thievery and persuasion, and make your two "shopping characters" bartering and loremaster. This works because lone wolf is simply disabled when you have 3+ party members, youre not actually forbidden from having more than 2. And there arent any fights on the shopping trip! (hopefully)

just started this or started it some days ago, but that is genious to take with you a whole chest if you cant lockpick it. Hmm only used custom maker once so far, but yeah i will def keep that in mind... i remember i used it to mark where some enemies types was.

For Lone Wolf or solo or dual fight go with undead (you and fane) if the fight is hard yust kill 1 enemy then use play dead and you can kill enemies one by one with this tatic soem fight can be easier but need a lot of time :D yust use play dead out of the enemy sight / dwelling place (so you dont dropped out so far) or paly dead and waypont travel

with teleport you can teleport people above other people. that person then falls doing damage to both them and the person they fall on

If your playing a skeleton character and you're low on poison potions and you have a characher with posion wands/staffs. Attack you skeleton character and they will regain health equal to the damage you've delt to them.

Lock a npc in conversation with one character, then you can easily sneak behind them and pickpocket/empty their shelves with another character.

Hey, I got my undead thievery tip! Not as OP as a whole undead geomancer party though. I tried it and it's stupid, you just play contamination and every one of your characters becomes poisoned. If you casted rain before, you just set your enemy in a poison pool. 1 AP. funny

Don't have high enough thievery to open that locked chest? Don't want NPCs getting annoyed at you for 'violence?' Try a summon. They can break open doors and chests without damaging equipment or angering NPCs (so long as that door or chest has a health bar). Personally, I only ever use lockpicks if I feel I have no other, and I mean, NO other option.

Because in the light-red you only get detected if you're standing i think, or have too low sneaking. You can see darker red areas at some places too.

Just finished game tonight for 3rd time, lone wolf air/water magic duo. My Lohse was a total beast! My elf character was a glass canon and kept getting one- or two-shotted, so Lohse was left to take care of some tough battles on her own, and boy did she rise to the challenge! 59 intelligence, massive critical damage, 70% critical chance with magical skills, always had initiative, could regenerate armour like crazy. When water resistance was a problem, she could diversify her damage type with summons and totems. And had a bunch of useful skills from various other branches. She was never out of options, always in control. Hydrosophist rocks!

steal, steal a lot... once you steal something, drop it to the ground and wait for the npc to search your pockets... they will not find the stolen items and leave you alone... this doesnt work on some npcs, usually important ones... they will say you look suspicious and you will need persuation to get out without a fight. however you can still get away with this if you teleport the character that is locked in conversation and the npc wont bother him again

You can poison food and drink... And reverse pickpocket... Not sure it's of its usefulness yet. And at least on character has started a proto relationship, not sure if they all can. edit: derp, just realised that these are for healing undead party members and thar npc's can't be reversed pickpocketed. My mistake.

You can drop red dye in a bottle of poison and it appears to be a healing potion when you look at it and read it. It's still definitely poison though. Enjoy, co-oppers!

If a party member dies in a place that is hard to get to, they can still quick travel to a waypoint and be revived there.

lol in one playthrough i would stack all the locked chests i had in the crew quarters of the boat and when i felt like it, respec my skeleton for thievery to unlock them all, then respec him back and then leave all the chests stacked there cuz i thought it looked funny

Yep, read and find the hints in the journal logs. Also make your own markers like the video said

Pay attention to the quests and keywords in it, plus explore and read. There will also be characters that can give you hints, like a crab makes an offhand comment if your a lizard about how he thought all lizards smelt like a particular item.

If you are destroying chests, doors or other things in the environment, do not use melee characters since their weapons will lose durability. Spells, wands and bow/x-bow won't lose durability.

Stuck on a difficult fight? Simple break off one character and get them to talk to the bad guy, whilst they're talking to the enemy teleport them along the road to someone who can actually fight. Boom take down that pesky level 15 witch at level 10 and get some decent loot

I'm playing on a laptop with an Intel i5-6300HQ, 8GB of RAM and a GTX 950m. Good for Original Sin 2 at 1080p/30fps on mostly high settings, although I've played it safe and dropped anti-aliasing down to FXAA. Those specs won't do much to future-proof your laptop for new games though - games like The Witcher 3 will run, but 1080p/30 is a stretch - so I'd say look for one with a GTX 1060, if you can, just for that extra oomph. I'm always GPU-limited, rather than CPU limited, so I'd recommend spending for the best GPU you can get.

Tip #8: Cheese the game with the Jedi build. Nothing is funnier than one shotting a boss with a chest. It is also a way to carry around all those chests you cant unpick at the time you find it.

A pro tip: telekinesis is not only the skill to lvl up but also allows you to one shot any enemies at any levels at any difficulty.. (of course depending on lvl of evasion of your opponents)
