Thank you Dr. Nina!! I'm a single seasoned lady who knows that the older we get, the more difficult it is to lose weight. You are absolutely correct about balance in all areas of our lives being important. I've had to reevaluate, realizing it's not only what I'm eating but, what's eating at me. Being consistent is key with me. I have learned the hard way that motion IS the lotion. Any consistent movement helps relieve my (knees) joint pain. Because I watch too much TV, I've committed to stretching & chair exercising during every commercial. At least 3 times a week I incorporate dancing & I really enjoy that. I'm currently working on losing Covid (19 lbs) & holiday weight. If I lose 1lb a week, next year this time I will be 50lbs lighter, IF I maintain consistency.👌🏽💖😊

I've been watching you for so long, since you were doing hair videos in your apartment, before you had a real channel. You are a real inspiration. I'm not doing well on my weightloss journey. However, one thing I do that helps kill cravings is to drink cold water from my thermos (32 oz), and slowly eat a tablespoon or two of natural peanut butter. It's kind of expensive for my budget, but... I'm worth that little extra.

My problem is recovering from past major failures. In 2013, I was riding high after successfully dropping 60 pounds after a previous attempt. I truly thought I was in it for the long haul. But in 2019... something changed. I just couldn't stomach the long-term restriction anymore (mostly dietary, exercise never bothered me, I always loved it). I just started to rebel against the fact that I had to constantly micromanage myself after doing it for years, day in and day out. Then 2020 and C19 happened on top of it, and fast forward to now, where I'm up 85 pounds from that prior low... yep, all the weight I lost, PLUS extra. I don't like where I'm at but the journey doesn't feel worth it if I go and lose the weight all over again, only to be 5-6 years down the line and sick of the restriction again. It feels like a vicious cycle.

Key word sis is Grown. The good Lord allows us to make our own choices and anything you clearly cant control, change or make means u can only give to God. Im constantly practicing over mine. They dont lose sleep and if u left this earth they will continue to live their life. Dont allow of all ppl, your kids to send u in the grave or mental hospital cause what they choose to do. They had a clean slate and one day they will reflect n go back on what u taught but they must learn the consequences of their decisions. Step way back and pray for their safety and live your life. We not suppose to guide folks who choose to pay life the cost to be the boss and not u. Remember worrying and prayg dont mix. The bible says each day has its own set of anxieties and worrying keeps u from seeing the positives assigned for that day. We can assume n control if we live another day so why waste it on a child who has his own life to live?

Hi Dr. Nina, I really enjoyed your video. This is my first time listening to you and I love your energy. As for me I’m struggling with my weight loss as well. In 2019 I had the Sleeve Gastric surgery. I went in at 221 lost and lost 60 pounds. My lowest weight after the surgery was 166. I was doing very well. I’ve started taking my vitamins, going to the gym and eating right and taking in lots of water but when COVID 19 hit…My life changed. It took me into a junk yard of stress. Bad habits stepped in, weight gained 40-50 pounds now and it’s been a struggle every since. I’m two years in from having my surgery and I’m at 191 but it’s been a roller coaster for me. I’m not happy of my out come. I’m just a mess. I’m eating small portions as always but I’m exercising like I should. I can’t drink as much water like I did before. Also I just had my gallbladder removed in May 2021. I’m healthy but that was supposed to have been removed when I had my weight loss surgery but my doctor said no because I needed it to break down my foods. I recently found out that my doctor could have made my stomach pouch a bit smaller so therefore I was able to take more in more foods than Becky with the good hair. Just saying… I need some serious help. Now I’m asking my second primary doctor what can I do and they want to put me on diet pills. To be honest I rather redo my Sleeve surgery again because it wasn’t fair to me in the first place that my pouch wasn’t cut smaller. So how can I fix this matter? Once again I’m just a mess!

I have just done some exercise this morning after slipping fro 6 days. Thanks for this, I'm so inconsistent in my journey and push myself too hard. Need to pace it and do a plan that will work for me.

I lost 30 lbs and then a year later got pregnant with my first child. She’s now 9 months and I have put on all of the weight I lost and then some. It’s been so hard to get back to it. I just don’t know how to find the motivation or drive for life like I use to.

How did you lose the 30lbs?

Take your time. Ease into what works best for your current life. Work your way up. Congrats on your little one sis!
@whyask98643 жыл бұрын
I agree! Take baby steps. For example if its cutting out all sugary drinks and replacing with water. Our if you say I'm going to slowly cut down on carbs. Baby steps sis you are in full control. I know it's not easy with a little one but you can do it!

@@sandracorley3944 I got a personal trainer and a gym membership on the side. I worked out 4 days a week at the least. Having my Apple Watch on everyday helped me stay on track with walking and calories. I made it a mission to walk no less than 7000 steps per day and would try to beat it the next day. Diet wise I avoided juice/pop and opted for water and flavored tea. I also cut the food I ate in half.

I gained weight due to a medication I’m on. I want to lose 60 pounds but I lack the motivation and discipline. I’m trying to work on that but it’s hard. I lost weight before but this time seems so hard.

@@sandracorley3944 I would walk a lot and do at home workouts. I changed my way of eating and I drank lots of green tea. I was really disciplined.

Thanks for the boost. I had lost 10lbs and I have gain it back during the pandemic. I watch what I eat but getting motivated to exercise has been very hard. My doctor reminds me each visit that I need to do some type of exercise. I might workout for a week and then I slack off. I was walking my dog every now and then but he got sick and had to put him to sleep. Even at 13 he was very active and could get me to go for a walk once a week. Thought about getting a puppy but have not been able to find the right one.

I needed this message so much.... my issue is that circle of support that you talked about I don't have and it's hard being a single mom (widowed) most of my time goes into my children.

LMAO it's so true taking on too many new things at one time is frustrating 🙃. I have to work on eating more vegetables because I don't like vegetables so I have to get veggies protein to get the nutrients. I've been eating some vegetables without thinking about taste.

Keep it up 🔥💯Life style changes is key to weight loss with both mental and physical health improvements. Now having lost 50kg/ 100lbs in 5 months I am starting to feel a lot more like myself. Still on my journey and happy about it. Water fasting played a big part in my weight loss
