My issue is that I'm a fast eater; I don't take long enough to just take my time and enjoy the food I'm eating. Also, I tend to snack when I'm not hungry and having problems maintaining intermittent fasting. I went away for a week on a trip and my friends showed me how to just slow down and enjoy everything. I was able to tell when I was actually hungry or when I just needed water. I came back and the fast paced-ness I came back to threw me off. I have to get my mindset back to how it was on my trip

I am the exact same way. I'm 5'5" 238 lbs. I have been well over 200 lb for the last almost 20 years and have never had luck with losing weight. I have been walking 45 minutes to an hour for the last month or most days but I am still overeating. I need a breakthrough
@couleenwhite52393 жыл бұрын
@@yolandam611 I've been doing the same. I was walking 3 miles every day for about two months. My stamina improved but I saw no other change since my eating habits were still bad and I have trouble sleeping. However, we're putting in the starting blocks into the perfect buildings we'll become eventually (possibly a bad analogy 😉).

Therapy came first for me. I understand that to get the outside together I had to get the inside together! I am on The Warrior Diet right now and I still struggle with binging occasionally and yes depression, sadness over a relationship, and boredom play a huge part in that for me. But since I I understand and know what's going on, to me that's half the battle. I also put inspirational messages up all over my home. And on my laptop where the webcam is it says "everything you put it in your mouth counts" just as a constant reminder to slow down and really think before I make that final decision to put something in my mouth that I should not. Good luck to all of you ladies and thank you so much brown bb you are amazing!

I’ve overeaten under the following circumstances: stress, sadness, boredom, for fun, & also unknowingly… when I didn’t understand calories. I am finally overcoming my undiagnosed eating disorder that I struggled with for so long. I feel more comfortable with my body & myself when I eat mindfully. Occasionally treating myself to foods that aren’t that healthy helps me stay on track.😊

@@KarolineThePriestess My parent’s we’re not right. What they did gave me food issues that l still struggle with to this day! Because of that, I never learned to stop eating when l was full and food became an addiction that l’m still trying to overcome!
@x.pretty.x.music.x3 жыл бұрын
@@KarolineThePriestess NO! they were not right. Forcing kids to eat everything off the plate creates problem later in life. If a child doesn't want anymore food, then they should not be pressured to eat it all. Most parents fill up their kids plate with a lot of food expecting them to eat it all instead of putting the right amount just for them to eat or less. This is a struggle I had. My mom soon stop filling our plates and start putting less.
@x.pretty.x.music.x3 жыл бұрын
What do you think us adults do when we are full or don't want anymore? We either put it up for leftovers or throw it away. I don't understand why it is a issue to pressure them to eat eat eat till it's gone. When in reality, it's causing them to overeat and have stomach problems. Smh

Developing a passion for fragrance, art, and self care has been the game changer I needed! I started investing my time into things to take my mind off the stress and that was truly key for my situation. When I went through changes in my life that I couldn't handle I'd just crawl somewhere and eat. I've always focused on taking care of everything and everyone and never myself. Being a mother of four, homeschooling for the last 5 years, having a husband who's on the road, and taking care of my father who's legally blind is a beautiful thing but I never took time to properly care or think of what I need or like. I've been overeating for about 10 years and last year I sat down with myself and broke it down and started making small changes. Definitely eating more nutrient dense and whole, fresh foods makes all the difference. I am happier, more vibrant, less aggressive, more calm and I'm so glad I'm working everyday on myself. I didn't cut out eating everything I like or loved, I ate it when I wanted and it did help with not pigging out on it from depriving myself of it. Surround yourself with like minded individuals was another big factor and help. Taking the time out to explore and exercise gives me that feeling I loved in my younger days of being wild and free. Going to the department stores and smelling and buying fragrances and candles helps me not want to overeat, it's actually the best thing for me and has been surprisingly very effectively. They naturally boost your mood and we all know that but I does something to me mentally and I love it! I think I will implement waiting a while during the meal to let my brain and belly make there connections will be another great way to make a difference. Thank you for being open and honest with your community so we can all make a healthier life for ourselves 💜

Dr. Nina, I have struggled with this for decades!!! I recently had Bariatric Surgery and prior to this from people who had it before me, learned a lot. This includes your videos. The yo-yo diets, been through all of them-if not most! I am journaling more, logging more, following Intuitive Eating and Dr. Matt Weiner's book, "A Pound of Cure". What hasn't helped is my husband and my Step-Son's eating habits. I cook most meals and meal prep more these days than ever. I will make a huge skillet of hash browns (example) to make breakfast tacos/bowls for the week. I come back and everything is GONE!! I have literally had to put things in the Fridge shortly after making them and label them with my name, just to keep our son out of it. It does not always work. It is a learn as you go process and I am down 70 lbs., I just need to incorporate more exercise. Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks. I surely appreciate them all.

This video. I’m trying to cut back my eating. Recognizing yes it’s bad habits from childhood, also the fact that it’s there and I can. But knowing it is emotional reasons as well. Meal prep or things quickly to make is good for me. When you get your metabolism to speed up, those hunger attacks are real. One thing you said that was very relatable , people judging your meal being so unhealthy, and their opinion about my plate, when they have a very poor diet themselves. The comment I now know has nothing to to with me and everything with them. 💕
