Well thinking of Newton's 3rd law, if you throw 12lb of gold bar upwards, you apply same amount of force down to bridge. And im pretty sure there will be a timing when that force applies and when catching another gold bar at least once during crossing the bridge so falling is quite inevitable when you juggle them.

With the juggling one: In the act of throwing a gold bar into the air, you have to push it up. In doing so, your feet push down harder onto the bridge. If you want to throw it up high enough and fast enough, and then catch it again fast enough to be able to juggle two bars, then at some point you'd have to push it up so hard that your feet would be pushing down with more force than the equivalent of just holding two gold bars.
