It's a phase French people enter when learning English. Once your vocabulary is good enough, you're too confident and you speak without emphasizing anything... Then after a few months, you emphasize, enunciate, and speak real English. This guy is making me cringe, he's litteraly making no effort in speaking proper English. As a Frenchman I couldn't understand his English withtout the subtitles.

Same.. I kind of expect all the time the expensive item will be including caviar or truffles.. I always hoped they go with sth unique..but always either cheap or medium priced food r the unique ones
@jacobhogan3806 жыл бұрын
I feel that the last one is never the best. The only one that I thought was worth it was the sushi one in japan. It was a cheep price and the chef was really cool. But the middle and cheap always are the best because usually the last is always a few hundred. It isn’t worth it. A good example is the pizza one in New York. I would way rather have 1000 of the pizzas from joes than the 24k pizza.

I don’t like the idea that when chef wants to make an ultra good dish they just throw more caviar and Truffle on top of it. I feel that’s a lack of Creativity. Even if you throw Caviar or truffle or even gold on top of an average pasta, it’s still an average pasta.
@omgsomeonesomewhereonearth74326 жыл бұрын
The only chefs who did this who I do respect are the Tokyo Dog lads. The only reason they made that hot dog was to break the record, they sell it for cheaper than it was to make it,and they give the money to charity.

But if truffle and caviar compliments the dish, why not? Where have you heard of an aged quail egg soufflé before? It took them a month and a half to nail the creative process behind it so it wasn’t like they were lazy about it. But I get you. Sometimes you see people who makes “fancy food” just throws expensive stuff together without really understanding the quality of the ingredients. If you look at worth it’s evolution, you can see the newer the season, the less the “expensive” food was about it’s ingredients and more about the process.
@Thoumil_Cooks6 жыл бұрын
"I'm not doing this soufflé to be expensive, I'm making it to be good" 3 minutes later: "We're using the most expensive caviar on earth" Also, gold leaves, because everybody just can't get over the taste of the f*cking gold leaf! This chef is a hack.
@DarkComatose156 жыл бұрын
Thomas Portaneri maybe the caviar is so expensive because of how good it tastes? And i also don’t think gold leaf is all that expensive, i think i found it online for pretty cheap (because its so thin and such a small amount) but i could be wrong.
@zenldh6 жыл бұрын
@Thomas : agreed! a lot of worth it videos just showed it how a lot of 'specially expensive' menu is just a basic menu + gold leaves + truffles + caviar + lobster 😂 one that I like is Worth it! Fish. The expensive fish dish really didn't use any of the expensive menu cheats. The old man chef is quite passionate too.
@lady8jane6 жыл бұрын
The gold is not what makes it expensive tbh. You can get 30 small sheets of 24 karat gold leaf for less than 10 bucks on amazon. Chefs just use that as an excuse to ask for ridiculous prices.
