Another very informative video Alex. I had no idea that there were still snakes in Jamaica. Thought that Mongoose killed them all. I am fascinated by snakes and have held many and have pictures taken in Las Vegas with 2 very large Albino Boas wrapped around me in. One of my favourite places to visit here in Canada is a place called Reptilia. It's a fascinating place. I have only 1 fear and snakes is not it. Although I am fascinated by snakes I am TERRIFIED of Inch Worms and Caterpillars. Irritional fear 🤣. I don't take selfies so....

So what if you lived in Trinidad and had to contend with some very venomous snakes like the Bothrops atroz (Bushmaster) and the Fer de Lance ( also found in Martinique). These are found in South America and Costa Rica. These venomous snakes are to be found mainly in the forested areas of Northern Trinidad and some other areas. As long as you leave them alone they won't bother you. If they feel threatened they'll defend themselves with their lethal bite and very potent venom.

Fun fact: animal population of inguanas and Snakes were higher before the Mongoose came, they were shipped to Jamaica by Indian settlers because the rats were getting out of control, eating sugar cane plantations and causing diseases,so they needed something to eat the rats, but they are destroying native plants and animals to Jamaica, it used to be common find snakes in Jamaica but it’s now rare to find one in Urban Urban areas and live in rainforests or the mountains, hope you learned something today, bye guys
