Build muscle. All you need is a few exercises and a table and chairs at home, and a backpack and some books. You can get in shape.

Last year in April I was like “I’m going to get jacked this summer” lol. Now almost a year later I’m actually looking jacked. It just takes about a year longer than you think it will. Keep at it!

Workouts made me happy in my 20s...even just the thought. No matter what day I had at work, I couldn't wait to change into my workout clothes and leave the house in the evening! Now, in my mid-30s, just the thought of going on a walk, forget a run, makes me stressed and unhappy. I don't know what happened. Have been trying to find that joy and motivation again...can't seem to find it.

You probably got burned out and lost the ability to do a workout without it needing some headspace etc. Take yoyr time and do little steps. I was an avid gymgoer for 15 years, last 3 years were weird and not so good. Now i changed to kettlebemm training at home and im back on the good rail.

One big thing so many people need to do….stop SNACKING. I don’t know about other cultures, but I can sure as hell speak for fellow Americans. Snacking is a HUGE reason why so many can’t lose weight or stay lean. They eat their first meal at let’s say 7 am. Breakfast. Ok, fine. 3rd meal is lunch at 11. Mind you, these meals are likely PACKED with calories and sugar and carbs. Then sometime after lunch, usually 1-3 hours later, so many people will snack on something. Chips, a packaged bar of some kind, maybe some candy, SOMETHING. They get home, they SNACK on something again. Leftovers, or maybe straight up dinner. Another likely high caloric meal. If dinner is a 6 pm, guess what? Tons of people end up SNACKING again later in the night, and A LOT will do this closer to bed. If dinner is at 8 pm, they’re snacking on SOMETHING between 4-8. High caloric meals, plus multiple instances of snacking. Even if it’s “healthy” snacks, it’s still snacking. People need to realize our ancestors never “snacked”. They ate their food (usually alot in one sitting) and saved the rest for much later. Food was scarce, and there’s multiple people in the group. Can’t be eating the food all at once or snacking it away as the day goes on. In other words, they spend TIME in between eating. This is key. More people need to eat a meal, and go LONGER hours until your next meal. No snacking in between. You snack too much, your body (that is currently working on the meal you just ate shortly before) now has to deal with the snack you just consumed, and has to store that extra stuff somewhere. Going long hours between meals and no snacking means your body can deal with storing that energy and not having to work overtime in dealing with excess calories spread out at multiple points through the day. Obviously, if one is exercising pretty moderately, consistently, you can get away with snacking once during the day, because your body is burning up energy after exercise and on days off. But most American don’t exercise moderately consistently. And most Americans eat highly processed and high caloric meals….and then snack multiple times during the day. Just eat 2-3 meals per day (relatively healthy meals), and go at least 4 or 5 hours in between those meals. That’s it. If one of those meals is high calories, go LONG until your next meal, like 8 hours. And only eat two meals in your day. Throw in moderate exercise a few times a week and you’re guaranteed to lose weight and be much leaner.

This generation of old people has fully earned the disrespect especially in America. Living their entire lives on easy mode and having the audacity to generalize the entire youth when there are less than half the avenues and opportunities to be successful. Let them stand, losers.

I'd be leaner if I stopped drinking beer. I go to the gym, I run/walk lots, I eat clean food 2 meals per day. I get enough sleep. I don't smoke, do drugs, or eat junk food. But beer is my vice.
