Papal Audience rocks. I myself had Audience with Pope John Paul. The man spoke in Polish, English, Italian, and Perhaps French. Then, all of a sudden a small group from China are there...The Pope sits back for a moment then starts speaking in Mandarin. BLEW ME AWAY! God Bless!

My favourite catholic spot in Rome is San Luigi dei Fracesi. There you can find 3 canvas of Caravaggio about Saint. Mattew. Everytime I go to Rome I MUST go there and watch the Calling of Saint Mattew, it really speaks to me and my faith. Of course I love the tomb of JPII too. I'd also suggest going to the Lateran Basilica and to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Altar of Heaven.

Visited Rome in 1972, attended Mass at St. Peters on Easter Sunday and was in the Square when Pope Paul VI gave the Blessing. The Quo Vadis Domini Chapel on La Via Apia was a moving point for me along with Saint Peter in Chains.

Being from Germany it is easier for me visiting Rome than for the people in US. I have been there several times also for the last audience of Pope Benedikt XVI ❤️ Scala Sancta definitly was one of my favorite places to visit and to pray. Another thing which isn't in the tourist guides and for me was very important to visit as a student of theology was the Milvian Bridge on which Konstantin had the battle of the Milvian Bridge. It was the beginning of the christian era of the Roman Empire. Nobody was there, it wasn't easy to find. But when I stoud on that bridge and prayed the Credo I felt so relieved! Very meaningful to me.

Hi guys, I've been curious to know more about the extraordinary form of the Mass and its movement across the U.S. lately. I understand that it's mostly 2 factions involved in its resurgence. I think this topic would be an interesting one for you to talk about. P.S. I've been learning prayers in Latin and am now in the process of looking for a church near by that offers the Extraordinary form on a regular basis. Thanks!

I'm always amazed (or not, rather) that Protestants could care less about the first 1,500 years of Christianity (the Catholic Church), nor the History of St Peter and St Paul in Rome, the stairs Christ walked, etc. Nor for relics. I think that may be why the Protestants I know don't know History (even the 400 year blip of their version of the Old Testament).

I think John 1:1 should be included in each mass again. Such a beautiful reminder of the wonder of the trinity ❤️

Great talk show. I love Rome the holy sites are real evangelisers for visitors. Travelling as a Pilgrim group to Medjugorje and hearing all the Stories of Miracles, we experienced the smell of roses at night. I heard many tales of healing miracles and conversion to faith. Prayers were answered.

St. Tarcisius is my Confirmation saint. With him being a less popular saint, I always get soooo excited when he is mentioned!

I have been to Medjugorge four times. This modern kind of worship etc istn't my taste anymore. But I have definitly made great experiences there and grew a lot in my faith. I have been on many different kinds of pilgrimages since my childhood. My biggest one was the pilgrimage by feet (!) 100 km from the Vienna Woods to Mariazell which is the biggest place of pilgramage of Austria. It took me 5 days. Uphill downhill. In the middle of august. Heat, not enogh water and food. But seeing the statue of holy Mary in the church and going to confession was worth it!

Nel Museo Nazionale Romano è esposta la prima statua che rappresenta Gesù. È conosciuta come CHRISTUS DOCENS. È interessantissima. (Museo di Palazzo Massimo, vicino alla stazione Termini)

When visiting the Holy Stairs, you can also buy a ticket to enter the Sancta Sanctorum (the private chapel of the early Popes) at the top of the stairs. Well worth it. I'd also advise visiting the tomb of Father Candido Amantini, who was the chief exorcist of Rome, and used to carry out his exorcisms in the building of the Holy Stairs. It's in one of the rooms adjacent to the Sancta Sanctorum. Another amazing place to visit is the house of St Cecilia in the Trastevere district of Rome. Under the Church, they've excavated her house where the early Believers worshipped in the 3rd century. For me, it was a very sacred place! And, of course, the catacombs! My favourites are Domitilla and Priscilla.

I got to spend some time in the Mamertine prison by myself (got there early enough that there were no other people), and it brought home a very human facet of Paul's letter to Timothy, where he asks Timothy to come quickly and bring his cloak. It's cold in that place, and Paul desperately needed his cloak. I know it sounds like a small detail... but that one small detail made the whole epistle come alive to me in that prison!

I was fortunate enough to have been there at the Scavia and St Peters. The pilgrims way, is a Camiño to every location worldwide, a transit to all holy places throughout the world. If you can, go in the peace of Christ, see what you can see, hear what you can hear, rejoice and be glad!

Just pondering: so laity are not supposed to spread their ashes when they die, but bury them together , but why are just the hearts of popes take out or other pieces of Saints spread around the world? Just pondering.

I went last year and missed all these. Thanks for sharing. Want to see Mamertine Prison (where St Peter and St Paul were imprisoned and baptised with a miraculous spring while awaiting trial) , Tre Fontane Abbey (where St Paul's head bounced three times), Santi Vincenzo e Anastasio a Trevi (where 'Counter Reformed' Papal hearts are embalmed) , Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem (housing the Sign on the 'Cross of Jesus', & thorns & large relic of Cross), and Santa Scala (the stairs Jesus scaled for his sentencing by Pontius Pilate in Jerusalem- Jesus' 33yrs and 33 stairs and Dante's 33 libri of tears). Thanks.
