Motorcycles start conversations! No matter where I am, people want to talk to me. Other riders will mosey over and discuss riding conditions, good ol’ days; general biker stuff. Non-riders will make comments like, “Nice day for a ride!” or, “Aren’t you cold?” Youngsters want to know how fast it’ll go. Part of me wishes that everyone could experience the joy of motorcycling, but another part of me is secretly pleased to be a part of an exclusive breed.✌🏻

People all around me tell me to be careful or you are stupid or have some story of their friend crashing, but those people just don't understand. I've been riding a little over a month now and that ride to work and home is the best part of my day other than going home and seeing my kids. My 2 children are the number one joy by far in my life but riding is an experience that sets me free for a brief moment of everyday life and stress. I wish everyone could experience this joy we all feel when we ride and they might have a different outlook on their life altogether. Anyway, I just want to thank you is all....

I had that happen the other day but in reverse. Was turning right and all the cars were turning left as I was approaching the turn the this one guy goes straight causing me to hit my brakes which I hit the rear harder than the front and got squirrelly. I almost lost it but saved it. Adrenaline rush for sure. Only other time I had that happen was when I test rode a bike and was going to fast for the turn and I ended up in somebody's yard doing unintentional doughnuts trying to keep from dumping it. That one was a ass clencher for sure.

I've seen this mentioned by many others in the comments.. but going to the store down the road in the morning for some stuff but ending up home several hours later. Whenever I go out for a short ride I end up driving for hours just enjoying the feeling. 1 week ago I just needed to ride down to the gas station to feel up my tank for the next day and at the end of my day I had ridden 500 km and fueld up 2 times having some fun on the twisty roads with rev counts up far beyond what I had planned that day. And the feeling if relief when the rain starts pouring on a hot summer day. As much as I love riding my bike there is the downside of thick protective clothes one must use even if it is 25-30+ Celsius outside. And when you need to go to work and have to put on the gear fir safe riding.. yes I dont need to be stuck in traffic, but I now have to wake up an half an hour earlier to have time to get ready and then have to arrive earlier to work so I have time to get it off again. But it all is acceptable when I can have fun on my way to work and skip the traffic 😅

C'MON MAN!! BIKER SENSES PART #2: The feeling of rain drops to the face (different sizes at different speeds. The feeling of the change in temperature when going down in a valley or going up a mountain. Viewing the shadow of you on your bike, as your blasting down a straight stretch. The sun on your back. The wind in your face. The feeling of sharing the low slung two finger fellow biker wave. The camaraderie of partying with other bikers old friends AND new ones. The smell of your exhaust as it changes gasoline to vapor. Eyeballs tearing up in high winds. Out running your own farts, cops, and guys who THINK they can ride but just CANNOT BEGIN to keep up! All of the different smells, familiar with the seasons that never reach your nose in a cage. Knowing a road like the back of your hand (every bump, every pothole, every deer crossing, every gravel patch, then flying around ALL OF IT at breakneck speed! Feeling the twisties. Bringing the front wheel straight towards the sun. Stoppies. Showing off. The looks you get from beautiful women if your on your beautiful bike! The awe inspired looks on kids faces as they think to themselves and their friends, WOW, THAT dude is the COOLEST and I hope to grow up TO BE JUST LIKE HIM. When your rear fender starts to pass you! Freshly oiled roads after a new burst of rain (and the colors of the rainbow in the contaminated spots). Watching wildlife, ESPECIALLY when it is running it's ASS OFF, trying to get away from those loud ass pipes. Scaring inattentive drivers with a serious rev spike to let them know they got too close, better than just about ANY style of horn. ALL forms of the feeling of going against gravitational pull, depending on the speed and the hill, that can actually make you wanna vomit because your heart is in your throat! ALL FORMS OF ADRENALINE RUSHS from close calls, etc. So many more, that was just from the top of my head, as fast as I could type it. You could do a whole SERIES of this stuff! (And probably should!) Stay safe out there, shiny side up and rubber side down. Almost forgot about taking big juicy bugs smack to the face at speed and then feeling the wetness bounce off, shooting sparks off the pegs and pipes from leaning it to the BRINK of destruction also!
