Amy one of my FAVORITE things I do is I have a printed inventory list. This is a list of all household items and pantry staples that I keep regularly stocked in my home. At the end of every month I Print the list out and I take 10 minutes to walk through my home and see what I need to restock for the month. This saves me both time and energy as I can make one trip on one day during the month and I have everything I need!

My organizing tip that was a game changer for me: Store items together according to the LOCATION/PURPOSE they're used in, NOT according to the kind of item it is. Example: Sneakers are shoes, but if they are your gym sneakers, they DO NOT belong in your closet with your other shoes! They belong alongside your gym bag. Likewise, if you play tennis regularly, your tennis racket does not belong stashed with all your other sports equipment in the garage or mudroom. It belongs with your tennis bag (where you should also have your tennis sneakers). I keep coupons in my car (not in some cryptic envelope in my files), because my car is with me 100% of the time when I go to the store (any store). Same thing goes for any documents or receipts that are needed for taxes. Don't file them according to their individual categories (i.e., office supplies, medical expenses, car repair, W-2 income, 1009 income, etc.). Put ALL of those docs in one folder called TAX PREP or ACCOUNTANT. When it comes tax time, you won't be running around like a lunatic trying to mine all of these disparate docs from their hiding places! Do this with everything, and you'll never be frazzled, pulling yourself together again.

Quick little tip for the text situation... not perfect, but it helps me ... I screenshot the text I want to give a quality answer to then email it to myself to deal with later or paste it into a calendar appointment. Works for my work flow! I get back and address it later. I might even respond, “I just saw this, but I’ll get back to you ___ when I can give this proper attention.”

Not giving enough mic care to the mic huh? I know, it's a dumb joke: That's why I told it. 😱 A workaround for the apple mark unread issue would be to have a specific "get back too" email account that you can forward those messages too. Then you schedule a time to check that email address for those messages you want to get back too.

I'm doing my master degree in engineering and physics and the one thing that keeps me sane is my bullet journal. It is dedicated exclusively to my studies and contains all the important information about the courses, deadlines and credits. It also includes a calendar for the 3 years of my degree and a page per week for planning my work. I also track which lectures I have attended and reviewed. This way I always have all the necessary information on hand and stay on track.

I suck at doing things immediately, so I've organized my life around it. When ever I see something which should get done, I look at my calendar and which is the next day that chore fits in. I write it on that day. The night before, I detailed calendar-block my next day, and include the chore. My boyfriend says he has a mini heart attack when he sees the 50 things I have to do, but it's often small tasks that takes 5 min. By giving it a timeslot, even though it would only take 5 min when i discovered it, through this system I GET IT DONE

The thing that helps me stick to my morning routine (and not get sidetracked by Pinterest and the like) is having an alarm go off every 30 minutes in the morning: 4am get up, 4:30am I should be in the middle of my workout, 5am get into the shower, 5:30am I should be putting on my face, 6am be done and check emails, 6:30am have breakfast and so on. I get sidetracked easily and forget to get things done. This greatly helps me

It can be a struggle to keep up, suffering from chronic migraines, but I do love this. Healthy positive routines are definitely key, especially when having a child too. I have to say, I found this app Tody, that has helped me keep a general house management routine...even after not being able to keep up for a few days and sometimes a week. I can jump right back in where I left off. This app does not rely solely on setting up a to-do list based on day, date, and times. It only rely's on how often something should be completed. This has changed so much for me! While this doesn't work for everything, it's a life changer for managing a household...along with all of our date/time specific appointments on the calendar. I'm managing things, instead of needing to do something when I am unable to physically. Sharing here, in case this could help someone who also struggles with chronic pain.

My partner is so unorganized while I am super organized, living together has been such a trial and error trying to figure out the best way to work for him. We have psychical a "you, me and us" calendar in our joint office. It is SUPER handy. We also have a meal plan board which when used is also handy. We also merged our schedule for some stuff (we always shop on the same day/same place/around about the same time for example). And we have now started to do Sunday morning bulk cooking which paired with the meal planner makes "cooking" (because it is usually microwaving food) SO much easier and quicker. We've noticed our bills have decreased dramatically too. I introduced having a "home" for stuff to him (I find it super helpful) and he has since found it valuable, especially when it comes down to his mad rush mornings and he needs to grab his work tag/keys/wallet and go. When I lived with my housemates (5 of us) we had a shared weekly whiteboard calendar which we would use. Highly recommend doing something similar if you're in the same position. The air kiss at the end broke me a little bit! Hope you're doing okay.

I feel this list on a spiritual level. 😂 The biggest thing that helps me stay organized is to *constantly* consolidate my notes. I have a habit of just grabbing the nearest thing and jotting stuff down, but if I don’t pick a designated notebook or digital platform to throw all of those impromptu scribbles into, they just get lost. Gotta localize! 😝

Agree! Before I started putting everything in my bullet journal I had too many places to write things down. I lost things all the time. I have Fibromyalgia which messes with you in so many ways. Send the txt messages you want to remember, but can't mark unread, back to yourself. Then you know that messages from ypurself you need to check again but can leave unread, until you routinely check them at some point(s) of the day. It's like note taking, your brain will remember making a note. Now your brain has the routine to forget to check txt messages again because you don't routinely check them again. You could have a routine for that of course. That might be better, because some new thoughts and ideas might pop up when you go back to things later again allowing you to be more creative. Thanks for th inspiring video!

One, if it can get done in five minutes, do it now and be done with it. Two, if not, schedule it. Three To avoid interruption, let others know when you will become available. Four, do important things rather than urgent ones. Five: Schedule difficult tasks for the morning hours. Six: Batch like tasks together. Seven: Delegate what is best done by someone else. Eight: Plan your work Work your plan Nine: Plan the next thing before you are finished with the current thing. Ten: Constantly improve, learn from mistakes, and The multiplier effect: Sequencing puts the tasks in a beneficial order to reduce getting stuck when one task depends on others. The synergistic effect: Having all the contributors agree on major goals an outcomes promotes collaboration and cooperation. More productive than competition, synergism will bring a team together towards a common goal. The Diamond effect: Works like mapping a travel plan where you reduce driving distance by going to the stops in a geographic order. For example: Do all the task in one location together whether in a computer program or otherwise.

One organising trick that has really helped me is my folder system. How I try to stay organized is to use the "only touch it once rule" for simple tasks. For example, if I someone hands me a document to sign, I sign it and hand it right back. Instead of taking it to my office, setting on my desk, and getting to it later (or worse, having it get sucked into my desk vortex). Little things I know will only take 2 seconds I try to do right then and there and that helps from things piling up. 😊

On organizing* I use a Que I am a diy artist and I have a Row of totes (Small ones) that are projects in order they will be done. They slide forward as I take one away to work on. Then I have a side table. As I am working on projects in a pomodoro method of like 25min solid work 5 min break etc. Its best not to start a new section that i would stop in middle of if i finish early. So the side table is a few stacks of small items I can do in a few seconds. And a bin to stack finished peices in. Those are bonus but also use up whatever color i am working with so i am not wasting time Unspooling a Bobbin or stopping part way on next section to reload. I also have a Bulk loader set up And prep ahead a tad over what i think i need so I am not starting and stopping. However as people do need to start and stop like people working in a Dining room table who dont have a Lot of space (Been there) i have an assortment of hacks for Keeping projects organized with starting and stopping. *I needed help on how to make videos on this and watching you has been a big help.* Thanks for being a positive role model and Hope you someday find some of my hacks as useful as I find having a role modle.

I use Evernote, my outlook calendar and most of all I plan in advance at least within 24hours notice when comes to my private life. This allows me not feel overwhelmed to try and please everyone and allows me to plan time for myself

U can mark a message a message unread after reading it on messages for apple. Just go to messages and that place where u can tap on a bunch of ppls name to message and decide who u want to txt. so if u just swipe from left to right on someones name then u can mark it as unread for urself so u dont forget to look at the message later

Frank one of my goals is to wake up early daily, it’s so hard if I don’t absolutely have to howwwwww help

@@boujieekaylonnii5238 I don't have to either, but after I tried several times, I started to feel it so damn good to wake up and start working/self-caring early. I keep this habit just because I love it. I love it more than watching TV till late at night, that's it. So I guess maybe try more times to see if it really feels good to you? You don't have to be a morning person, everyone is different😊 maybe you are the type that's more productive say after 9AM? Explore more and be patient to yourself😉 oh and trust yourself!

I always think back to a video you made that you talked about showing people that their time is important to you. Respecting their time by showing up for meetings "early" or whatever. I have this sales agent in the office that has a complete lack of respect for everything. He answers b.s. calls during meetings, presentations, when he's with clients, and so on. He puts calls on hold to answer other calls, and sometimes even a third call. Sometimes, he does all of that while the client is sitting in his office with him. He's a complete joke in our office. It's sad, and frustrating. I wish i could send him that video to watch and hope it actually gets through to him. That video and his bad behavior really make me constantly be aware of my time and other peoples time and making sure we are both being respected.

OMG I relate so badly to the request for Apple to leave messages unread lol I need that in my life, I am exactly the same in that I like to deal with text messages as a block!

My husband and I use our Google Home to immediately add things to our shopping list as we use them up in the kitchen/around the house. We can both access the shopping list from our phones, and it's easy to remember what we definitely need to purchase from the grocery store. PRO tip: go in and manually add in the store name before each item to organize which items can be bought from which store. This way, it's even easier to make sure you checked all the things off from Costco before moving on to Walgreens, for example.

I love this idea! 😳How where do I do this?! Just go into Google calendar and go where from there? ☺️ cause I use my note app write down which stores I need to go along with what needs to be baught from those stores.

I stay organized with phone timers. I have a timer that goes off every Tuesday evening to clean the bathrooms. It's a slow night of the week and I make that my only chore for the evening. I usually do a load of laundry midweek, usually Wednesday. It keeps it from being a piled up mess on Saturday.

Lovely video. I will get mezelf more organized by tackling my to do list which also includes decluttering, so I have a place where my backpack goes that I use for work.

I had an idea for your “ dear Apple” issue... this is something that I’ve been doing for a while. On a regular basis I delete my text threads when business is done, but I leave it as a text thread if I have to get back to it. Any unresolved communication or issues or impending appointments I leave in my text messages. I will delete everything else, even friend conversations if we are done talking.

A great organization tool I use is an app called Cozi for my family. It allows us to put in birthdays, set reminders, put in events, etc so that everyone can see & it color codes family members. You could even set up a chores Checklist & for reminders to go to specific members. I love it ... I use Google 📅 for my own personal things
