Yessss! Thank you for another great video! Please keep them coming!! I agree with you about not putting undue stress on the locs. I had to stop going to my Consultant because she was re-tightening my hair toooooo fast! I could literally hear my hair popping as she pulled it through the base. When I re-tighten my hair I am very cognizant of the damage that can be done during that process so I am very careful. As a result, my locs are congruent, strong and healthy. I just wish they would grow faster lol. I am looking forward to your natural spritz recipe because I only oil my hair and scalp once a week with one oil.

Girl yes. I'm doing a video on the hazards of retightening. I think I'm gonna speak to my loctician about going much slower on the front. I find myself cringing or I'll just be doing that area myself. I really think over time the cumulative impact is SERIOUS! Soooo nice to hear from you!!! Much love!!

As usual, you tips are great. One of the main reasons I am considering getting sisterlocks is because they don't require a lot, if any, handling and styling. I am not one who needs to have 5 different hairstyles in a week, so the less I have to style and play with my hair, the better. Also, I have struggled trying to maintain length for years, and I think sisterlocks will help correct this. I have a question: I work out daily, and I tend to sweat a lot from my head. Will this cause new sisterlocks to slip? I remember the old days of the relaxer, and how, if you sweat afterwards, the relaxer would revert. As a result, I would wait several days before resuming my workouts for fear of sweating. The initial investment for sisterlocks is substantial for me, and I don't want to do anything that is going to mess them up at the crucial stage of development. Thank you, as always!

Hi! I understand your concern. I am a sauna girl at times. Most of the times when I would get in early on, I would have my hair covered. This was mostly due to me not wanted to expose my hair to the dry environmental heat of a sauna. But it also absorbed some of the sweat. I dont recall music slippage due to workouts. I had more due to the softer hair at my crown. I think to help keep it under control especially during the critical 1st year, you can limit excessive workouts and variety (some types cause less sweat). But who wants to give up health. Alternatively, you can pin or used something to hold the 'potential slippers' in place. You cna even consider a scarf or a head band that absorbs moisture, as long as you quickly remove it when finished working out. Especially avoid any other offenders in that area, like oil, excessive manipulation etc. I think depending on your hair and sweat levels, you may want to be as preventive as possible, but expect a little at the same time. I know my hair was so much shorter at the front, that there were just 3 to 4 that continued to slip well Into year 3...

I have never been able to go more than a week without washing my hair. My locs are two years old. Band it and rinse away. I love an apple cider vinegar rinse best. I blow dry on the cool setting of an ionic blow drier. I shampoo once every 5 weeks or so. I hope that helps.

What natural oils are best to use for a sweaty/smelly scalp, so that I don't over wash.
@TunisiaAli6 жыл бұрын
Hey sis! Clove oil is good and pleasant smelling. Lavendar is as well and both smell great with a touch of orange or tangerine oil. It is antibacterial and antifungal. You can spritz your scalp with this a water and massage in. Be sure to let dry. Also, I'm adding a link to my shampoo mix. You can use the oils mentioned in a spritz or add a light carrier oil like jojoba. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZvSnGCtZtebrpo

@TunisiaAli3 жыл бұрын
Hmmmmmm not sure why your locs feel hard. Could be the dye, especially if it's not a rinse and is semi or permanent. Keep on the oil. Water can stiffen it sometimes if it's not alkaline enough.

Hi Sis ... Thanks for sharing .. I also use 100% natural products. You mention dyeing .. do you have a natural dye in mind .. I use henna but its extremely drying and looking for an alternative. Thanks a bunch
@TunisiaAli6 жыл бұрын
I wish I did have a natural dye in mind. I've heard of folks using beer juice, as it stains and lemons. I've never tried them though. I agree, many bvb years ago I did henna and it seemed somewhat harsh. I tried it years later and made the mistake of putting it on color treated hair and it caused a LOT of breakage. It was then that I made the huge chop, went natural and eventually got sisterlocks. Best wishes in the new year!

Yes girl! Get you a LOVELY water bottle that motivates you to drink and serves as a reminder. Never leave the house without it. Matter of fact, since you live in GA, consider going to Flovila GA to Indian Springs State Park (if not too far) to get many gallons of healing water. Its amazing and healing..research it. Its worth it!

Thank you for your videos! I have a question; is there a method for keeping your ends coiled or curly? I have the understanding that the hair locs from the end upwards and part of the locing process is a blunting of the ends but your ends are still curly and appears loose coiled, I think I have also heard you say that you have done that intentionally. How do you do that? Thank you in advance!

Hi there. Many of mine would naturally remain open. I know this happens with many people. When I would see the other start to close, I would take a push pin and VERY gently just u range the hair on the very ends. This worked for me easily. Hope it helps! Thanks for stopping by.
