In this channel I will only recommend products that I can confidently use myself and which I feel that are built to last. This AVLT dual monitor arm fit my use case like a glove, and will definitely not be the last one I get from your store!👍

Yo, thank you Jasmo!!! Appreciated my friend!! I know it's just my first (very pragmatic) take on the whole "desk setup" trend, but I hope it was a good first video on this topic... Gaming/Work-From-Home setups is definitely an area of interest to me, which I intend to cover more (and hopefully better :) here in this channel going forward!

Hehe... Thank you!!! While I know non-keyboard videos will not get as many views here in the channel (at least in this early stage), it is refreshing to cover some different gear from time to time. But at least my viewers should know that the care and effort I put on any video here, regardless of topic, will always be the same (very high 😆)!

@@IOSam Imo keyboards and all other "below the surface" gear is much more connected then we often think. For example audiophile and keyboard communities have a huge crossover in terms of ppl interested. And also your approach to videos is very unique and high quality, keep it up man!

Love the video! What pegboard do you use? Is it the ikea skadis, something from a specific company, or just a generic set?
@IOSam
@IOSam Жыл бұрын
Thanks Kanoan!!! This pegboard is called "Wall Control" ( amzn.to/41LmVD6 ) and it was cheaper at the time I bought it than the Ikea skadis one. But it is a very high quality metal board and has been working extremely well for me for almost 3 years now. I have a full list of almost everything I showed on this video (including the pegboard and its accessories) over at my website on this page if you want to check it out 👉 www.iosamfranco.com/post/upgrading-my-home-setups

Well... my setup is completely scuffed compared to this.... I have to start completely over by burning my house down.
@IOSam
@IOSam Жыл бұрын
Don't do that... 😂 Go piecemeal and work things out one at a time, in the order of your priorities (be them comfort, ergonomics, performance, aesthetics, etc.), and ALWAYS within your budget of course, and then build it from there.

@@IOSam I'm fortunate in that my first career was in fabrication and I own a 8' x 4' CNC router so I can make any furniture I want. My major priority is comfort / ergonomics due to my physical disability, followed by seperation of my work spaces. I have mirrored setups for my WFH setup and my office setup. I also do not like packing stuff back and forth so I leave everything but my laptop, and my notebook in each of these spaces. It's always interesting seeing how different people set up and prioritize things.This probably goes without saying though, my home setup is way nicer than my work setup, it is supremely comfortable meanwhile my office setup is basically what my company will buy for that space so its pretty much "built to a price point." Also I got all my switches in and have started the process of hand lubing over 700 of them. Which led me down a different rabbit hole. Krytox is expensive, I bought it cause it was recommended but coming from an industrial background I am familiar with other products. For instance Loctite 36781 is a damned good grease that if you mixed 7030 with a light oil with PFTE in it. Or tSuperlube 51004,51010 and Superlubelub 21030 , mixed how you already home brew your own krytox mix, you probably have a lube that is more than good enough for a mechanical keyboard. Being blunt here I think given the spec sheets on Krytox it is massive overkill for what we are doing and its price is inflated by everyone buying it. I would love to see a keyboard built with switches and stabs half lubed with traditional Krytox and the other half with Super lube and see how after 6 months they compare.

@@BType13X2 My situation is quite similar to yours when comparing my home setup with my workplace’s… I’ll be glad the day I can work from home 5 days a week! :) As for your comments on switch lubricants, you are spot on about the inflated prices of Krytox and Tribosys… These things were already expensive before keyboard enthusiasts started gobbling them up and now they’re even more of a rip-off (which is why I prefer to buy some variants in bulk and mix them myself to try to save a bit). But I do use other lubricants such as NyoGel 767 (mixed with OKS 477 for Alps switches) and the truth is: any industrial lubricant that does not degrade plastics can be used to lube keyboard switches as long as they have the right viscosity (not too light to run down to the bottom of the switch and not too heavy to make the switch sluggish). While I have never used the cheaper Super Lube on keyboards (I have used for other mechanical parts such as bicycle gears and other tools) I’m pretty sure they’ll work just fine with the only potential caveat being the durability of the application (possibly requiring touch ups more frequently).
