+Derp Derpson tbh, i never used the fast travel option. i mean, once i did, but then i did some experiments with time (sounds less dangerous than it was, since im a professional :) ) and found out that u dont actually fast travel, your character just takes the fastest way to the goal and u skip the whole journey n stuff. and before people start writing things like "we already knew" or "obviously" better stick to "wow thanks, what a nice comment. i gonna subscribe to your channel and help u find an animator for your super awesome steampunk adventure video series i heard so much great stuff about" unless, u know, thats too long for u :) also, when traveling through the video game world, good games have the habit of letting random stuff run into u. bandits, wizards, undead, undead wizard bandits, u know what im talking about. and killing these things not only gives u some experience (and lets be honest, better earn small ammounts of exp. several times without effort than working really damn hard, getting killed twice and get one big ammount of exp.), but also some loot. maybe. so yeah, for new players fast travel isnt reccomended since they sort of need the experience (and maybe some help learning where what is n stuff), and more experienced players dont need it anymore since they already know the way. also, if i wouldnt have walked around so much (took me a month before i found out that there was an actual stair up to High Hrothgar, if i wrote that correctly), i wouldnt have had so many plants which turned into potions and poisons. now i got some nice poisons, always carry a longbow and iron arrows and just let my "screw teammates im gonna kill everything i see, except the guy who sits right next to the fireplace" poison do the trick. btw, it increases the target´ health regeneration and causes severe poison damage over time as well. the latter 2 abbilities cancel each other out, but the damage abbility lasts twice as long, so eventually, he will die as well. then, in case any of his companions are still alive, they will stop to check the dead corpse (seriously, about 5 guys r dead there, and u go from one to another and look at them, except for checking if anyone is there or just, oh i dont know, alarming the others. dammit, its as if they were suicidal but couldnt figure out how to do it properly) and be an easy target for my Dragonbone Bow and my Dragonbone Arrows.

+Hemlock Fury Thing is, in case of wolves for example, they maybe ate the stuff or something. thats also why u almost never get a (large) weapon out of a creature. and about the ammo: they found a camp of soldiers or something, killed them and ate the unused ammo as well. i for one find it weird however, that in Skyrim, it is obviously common knowledge withing the game world that Giants are somewhat intelligent, since, u know, stuff. Skyrim players most likely know what i mean. so how come that u can sell Mammoth Tusks and Giant Toes? i mean, to get either of them, u eventually will need to kill a Giant. and if this isnt a problem at all to the merchands, then why the heck do they give u so little money for it? i mean, did they ever try to kill one of them, let alone 3? obviously not, because then, they would most likely be dead.

About the 'being able to carry everything in your pants' thing. I like to imagine that th characters actually have an off-screen case that they keep all of their things in, but aren't necessarily on their person. We even SEE the case on the inventory screen in Resident Evil games. So perhaps between areas, the hero is actually touting around a big gun case while they progress through the game and stash it in places, only running back to it whenever you go to the inventory screen to reequip.

Fast travel never actually saves you time in-game. From the game's perspective you did walk all the way there, which is why it's now late in the evening when you left at dawn. You just did it on autopilot and so they decided not to show it to you.

I know that regen health was mentioned but I also think healing potions could also be on the list. Doesn't matter if you got a massive stab wound or are suffering from a deadly disease/ poison. You take a quick sip of a health potion and you completely healed in a instant.

Well actually when you have an extreme adrenaline rush your eyes see everything in slow motion and you can react a lot faster, however you have no control over how long it will last or how well you'll use it. Usually it takes something like 1-2 seconds and makes you feel see and think like it was 6-8 seconds

Uhmm, my body has auto heal. If I cut my finger it will automatically heal itself after some time. And I also have fast travel. I just get in my car or get on a train and then I'm way faster than walking. But instant travel would be nice. Like if you had a Portal gun and also a bookmarks menu. So you could just create a portal at home and another one at work and another one at your friends house and another one at the grocery store and another one on that Mediterranean island ...

To be fair, fast travel in skyrim and the witcher does take into account the passage of time. For example if it's morning and you wanna go pretty far even using fast travel it'll be night by the time you get there so they are saving the player time but it accounts for the time it'd have taken you to get there. Not saying the fast travel you mentioned doesn't happen, just saying skyrim isn't really an example of that.

In skyrim though, Fast Travel works by skipping DISPLAYING your journey. It still happens, and all the time you take getting from place to place still goes by, you just black out for the trip. Kinda like intentional sleepwalking.

Fast travel systems usually have time pass in game, only allowing the player to skip travel time while your character is forced to sprint towards their destination while dodging all possible enemies for a few hours without rest.

One of my favorite is what I like to call the "Magical pocket" and yes like you said in MGS Snake can carry so much stuff that you start wondering where the hell does he put all this stuff ?! But later on I learned that if video games make some things exactly like they are in real life we won't be able to play properly, imagine if one shot or maybe two shots would kill you in Uncharted or any other game or when you get shot you'll start bleeding in the middle of the battle, it will be impossible to continue playing, bottom line is that games get ride of realism in some parts so that the player won't loose interest in the game, so we can feel the joy and the adrenaline rush after laying waste to an entire area full of enemies just with our gun or sword, so we can do things a normal person won't be able to do... Anyway guys great video !

fun science fact, when we get adrenaline rushes in life threatening situations and the like, our perception of time is altered, we don't actually slow down time, but we speed up and perceive things at a a faster rate, which makes everything seem to slow down. So yeah, bullet time is a thing, dodging bullets because of bullet time however is not

Fast Travel is just the game skipping the characters actually walking. It’s not teleportation, at least usually.

Well... time does slow down for you, but usually only for that brief moment before you actually feel a fist connect with your nose. I remember climbing a tree, the branch snapped, time slowed down for me (not really, just primal senses kicking in) and somehow I managed to react in time to grab the branch above me before I even registered what really happened. Games just let you have a little more control over that moment than life gives you.
