Thanks. I started digital minimalism 5 days ago. Signed out of social media platform, cleaned subscription on YT. Switched off unwanted notifications. I can see improvement in sleep , mindfulness improved , stared reading the book I kept aside. I think we as human are overloaded with tech. If you are financially sound then we buy more gadget to consume more information that increases anxiety, want to be the one with all answers in the room. I can see good change in me since I started 4 days ago.

I genuinely feel bad when I stay at home during a beautiful day. A voice in the back of my head is telling me to get the hell out there and do SOMETHING. Be it riding the bicycle, running, hiking or just laying at the river and reading a book. I honestly understand your point.

This is a subject I became interested in recently, when I realized the amount of time I've been wasting doom scrolling instead of doing my favorite hobbies: reading, creating music and drawing. The ideas you shared are going to help me wean from the screen. Thank you!

Hey Nick! This is my second comment on your channel overall, my first one was suggesting a phone update video idea. I've discovered your channel about a month ago, and I've been really enjoying everything you produced, old and new videos alike. It's obvious that you put a lot of effort and intention into your cinematography, and I also like the simple format you present your ideas in. And, of course, I do very much enjoy how you speak and little jokes sprinkled throughout the videos. Thank you very much for your work! I hope this channel will grow even more than it does now and I hope you will bless us with a lot more content. You've become one of my favorite channels as of late.

I’m a bit ashamed to think about how much time I’ve wasted in front of a screen. It’s easy to blame it on all the distractions out there, but ultimately, it’s on me to disconnect. Thanks for the motivation, Nick 🖤

I had an I phone SE. Did me fine as I use it for calls (remember when that was an essential feature to using a mobile?) and app usage. I have an I pad for any bigger tasks and a a Mac for anything major. Works for me and with the new 13 I bought, I manage two days of battery life.

I definitely go through phases with my screen time (though i'm not too active on SM, I keep falling into the pattern of reaching for a screen for no reason) and I find myself needing a reset constantly. Ironically I find when I'm travelling (which has been a bit lately!) it "messes up" because I'm out of a normal routine! Not sure if that's just a me thing though... great vid as always!

I only multitask depending on it’s priority. I don’t have 3 screens yet, but I would probably divide them. Desktop would be for work, tablet for entertainment, and phone for outside. The apps on the tablet would have short time limits. The phone would only have the essentials, no entertainment due to being outside. Work computer would have longer time limits. Hitting the limits on the tablet would tell me to go outside or spend time on projects.

I've realized I always find a way to stick around to my phone even during analog activities: I love cooking but I'm always following a recipe or a video with instructions. I frequent the gym but I'm too lazy too memorize my routine so I'm always accessing it on my phone (and of course there's always a notification that will distract me). I'm not a professional chef or bodybuilder and I'm still perfecting my skills on both activities, which is why I feel "safer" with my phone around. The only solution I can think of is writing the recipe(or routine) down in a piece of paper. Any tips?

Hey Nick, cheers from Argentina. I love your videos (the quality, the peace they bring and of course the content itself). I'm a freelancer graphic designer & small business owner (i'm currently doing craft binding) and I use Instagram a lot as well as WS business and other apps. I've disabled all notifications but anyway I find myself check in in all the time. I really don't like social media, but I'm learning community management and social media management 'cause of my SB and another side project which is pro bono (an ice hockey federation here in Argentina, this sport gave me so much that this is my way to give back, to use my skills to reach other people) and I have to spend lots of time inside my phone. I started my way on minimalism few years ago but I find it really difficult to apply in some aspects of my life (tech being one of them). Would you give me some advice on how to deal with social medial when you have to work with it? Thanks in advance

0:04 So you actually started rinsing your coffee filters :) that felt like those games you affect the storyline by making choices :D Gotta disagree with multi-tasking tho; It is ineffective, exhausting and pointless for many people indeed, but for people like me, it is almost a necessity. Without some enjoyable distractions, I immediately lose focus on the task out of boredom, yet multi-tasking does the job well when I like at least one of the tasks. P.S: Letting your hair grow looks great on you, keep it up!

Boredom, this is one's individual perception and choice word. Get off the digital world and get creative with yourself and life. I'm an old school guy and find it pathetic that people live on their phones/lap tops and become their crutch. Your 'real' life is passing you by and one day you will have many regrets. Videos, Tik Tok, etc. are short lived, so you saw a 'funny' 'entertaining' video, etc. two minutes later you couldn't begin to remember it. Get a life people!!!
