@@omarcarnegie7614 I was looking at a Kia Soul to buy (2nd gen) like a 2019, they use either a 1.6L GDI or 2.0L GDI. I don't want either, I do want the 6 speed automatic transmission. On the 2020 Kia Soul you can get either a 1.6L turbo GDI engine or a 2.0L MPI (multi-port/multi-point injection) engine, I guess their GDI 2.0L was so crappy they threw out the GDI version and went back in time to MPI/MPFI injection. I like the 2020 but I'm not going to buy it with their new "IVT" CVT transmission. They're already having all sorts of problems. So the Kia Soul is out of consideration all together for me. Too bad, it's perfect for what I needed and very comfortable, I have a bad back but he Soul has plenty of room for 6 footers like me. I'm not going to buy a car with a CVT unless it's a Toyota, and #2 stay away from GDI (self-destruct) engines, unless the fuel injection is a hybrid style where they have direct injectors + MPI injectors as a backup system to keep the intake valves clean. That's the new style of GDI.

I had the first year Titan (bought used about 1 year old, end of lease), and other then warped brake rotors, which were eventually replaced under warranty with a newer design, and a leaking front differential, which was also warranty replaced, that Titan was trouble free and my favorite truck I've ever had (and I've bought/driven LOTS of trucks) . I only sold it because of high gas prices and it's low fuel economy (about 14 mpg). Other than the fuel costs, I would love to have that truck back again.

All my older vehicle were made to last. No computer chips ,really made well and you can work on them yourself. I've had a 61 ford Ranchero lasted over 300,000 miles nothing wrong sold it just to move. Had a 1966 Ford Mustang same thing. Had a 1988 Nissan S.E. truck manual is went over 300k before it blew the head gasket. Sold it to a friend who fixed it and still drives it . My 88 Jeep Cherokee was very reliable. I'm keeping my 2001 Toyota Tacoma trd has a 3.4 supercharger and it's hopefully the last vehicle for the next 15 years top was rebuilt everything while installing the TRD supercharger. They don't make the trucks like they did. I definitely think they know about transmission issues ect to make money after paying up to 50k for a new one or more. No way.

@_ZAVALA, Unfortunately because of CAFE standards for mpg efficiency, many automakers including my own employer (Ford) has had to place smaller engines into all vehicles as to comply with government regulations. No one knew that Trump would become President and freeze those regulations. The automakers make these decisions a few years in advance to try and get and meet a lower fleet mpg standard average. The mpg standards are the average of all the vehicles an automaker sells. Personally, the V8 Coyote 5.0 litre engine that is solely made at Essex Engine Plant in Windsor Ontario Canada is the best and should be the ONLY engine to enter the engine bay of a F-150 pickup truck.......and a Mustang too. Sadly, to meet the government requirements means that Ford doesn't advertise much when it comes to the V8 Coyote engine. They push the ecoboost 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engines. Ugh. I hope this clears up some things. Have a great day.

@@harorider96 True to an extent. I only have the previous and current vehicles that I own and driven to compare to. There is usually some romance in the air in the first year. Most people want crew cabs for more space for people etc. Most people who buy trucks want an open functional space to store things. Most people who buy trucks may want to tow things. The severity of what you think you are going to need is why people buy F-250s in my opinion. Our crew trucks are Chevy 2500HDs and I would not see the reason to drive that daily for what I do. I am speaking to the utility to the Ridgeline to accommodate to my and most people's needs. I could be eating my words in a year, but I doubt it.

For what it's worth. I've been lurking the Ram 1500 forums for a while now. The 5.7 Hemi is riddled with Cam failures due to seizing up of the cam followers. That Pentastar, had the problems in the past that Scotty was talking about, but that seems to be a problem that has been resolved a number of years ago. Most people are getting very good reliability out of that pentastar these days.

Thank you for your honesty Scotty, your a rear breed altogether. Mechanics these days, are not entirely always honest! If more mechanics told customers the truth, people would stick to reliable cars, and it would be the tide that lifts all boats. Eventually the car companies who make poor reliable cars would start making more reliable cars like toyota, instead of just selling them to make a buck!

I purchased my first ever Chevy truck in 2016, and it will definitely be my last. Only 4 years old and started to have transmission pulling/jerking on its own at random red lights and engine ticking for about 2 minutes after a long trip... traded it in today for a new 2020 Tacoma trd off road and I have nothing but high expectations. We will see what the future holds

Actually the titan isn't a bad choice. My cousin got one almost 9 grand below MSRP. 10 year bumper to bumper warranty.

Even if the titan is soooo bad, they provide a 5yr/100k mile bumper to bumper warranty as standard. This is best in the market and seems fairly low risk with a warranty so damn good. not to mention, if these were plagued with so many issues, a warranty like this would put them out business. Not everything can be a 94 celica.

@@leechburglights Nissan is stupid for getting rid of it. Bought a new 23 p4x non xd a few months ago and its the best truck I've owned. I don't see ever getting rid of it. It has the most comfortable seats of any vehicle I've sat in, is quiet, smooth ride, good mpg, good power, and has a naturally aspirated v8 and no stupid dial to select which gear you want. It's probably one of the last real trucks being sold.

I guess Scotty forgot about the recalls on the Ford pickups. 🤔🤔🤔 Good video. By the way don't forget to mention the recalls on the Toyotas either.

I have a titan use it everyday pull 20' goose neck utility trailer no problems in three years with it. And it is a v8 gas. It replaced a GMC sierra and that replaced a Ford.

I must have because as soon as he brought up titan I stopped the video. And went to the comments. However the new 19 and up are still using the same basic 5.6 I have in mine.

he said leaks and electrical problems with the v8 gas trucks. Which is what I have. My son also has a 5.6 v8 and no issues. He does not use his as a work truck like I do but he is hard on it using it as a offroad mud truck. I have not heard of any of these issues on the forums but I have not really been searching for these issues either.

240 thousand on my 98 Dakota, it would take a half of page to list the parts that are still original on the truck. He's nuts on the price comparison between a 4wd Nissan Frontier and a 4wd Toyota Tacoma. There is at least 8 thousand higher difference for the same equipment.

Don't idle it a lot and don't just drive it around town at low speeds, that is when the Hemi's camshaft oiling design issue will ruin the camshaft and/or cam followers. Known major defect.
