Institutes do have a big role . But no one should base their life on an exam or an institute. The culture inside the colleges is very nice but ruining mental health for the sake of getting inside a college is extremely worthless. They will end in two different kinds of roles. From MTech (CSE) you will always stay in the IT sector (or maybe finances). That means metropolitan living, WFH, lesser stress and public dealing. But the learning curve is steep (DSA, AI and other tech) and learning is perpetual. Career growth is massive in the early stage and imminent stagnation in later stages, unless you pick IT managerial roles or else you do a PHD and enter RnD or pick a startup. In MBA, things are non-tech, constant stress and competition. A lot of politics. Performance based evaluation. MBA is really rewarding in the later stages, in the director / executive roles but until then...
