My mom took me to see The Wiz after I begged her. It was the only movie I remember as a kid where we walked out of the theater before the end because it was SO bad. Fun to see an MG midget commercial too!

1:38 Some things NEVER change over time; like pretensious perfume commercials. I never knew the 70s were so 80s. I think I would have liked it back then. Kinda makes me withs I was born in the early 70s so I could have fully enjoyed the mid-70s-mid 90s.
@timothysprengeler40714 жыл бұрын
I was born in 1971, so I remember the 1980's commercials a little better, but there are quite a few that I remember from the 70's also. When watching these 1970's volumes, I find that there are quite a few commercials from that decade that I'd kind of forgotten about but had suppressed in my subconscious memory.
@timothysprengeler40714 жыл бұрын
I'll add that when I see a volume of kid-oriented commercials, I remember them better if they are from the 1970's or early 80's, because by the late 80's I was old enough that I wasn't really watching those types of shows anymore.

07:28 - this is the kind of advertising that I can really get behind. No over-paid celebrities telling me about a product they don't use, as if ,like a child, I'll do it because they do; No swimsuit models, as if using the product will make interacting with them more likely. No comedian trying to be funny, as if a chuckle is a fair trade in the end cost of the product for paying him No scare tactics, as if not using the product will result in you failing miserably in front the world. Just some guy that says" we've got a good product, here's why and thanks for buying our stuff"

That having been said: 08:15- it must have been something to say you pound bungholes for a living. I had no idea they still used that method to seal a keg in the 70s

It was always funny to see at the end of a movie trailer the theaters that were showing it. We only had 3 in my city at this time so it wasnt hard to determine which had the movies. Cinema North always had the best movies.

All I remember about "The Wiz" was the Rifftrax of the Star Wars Holiday Special that featured this commercial: The Wiz is "destined to age poorly!" "forgettable" "certified rotten on the Tomatometer" "Written by the director of Batman & Robin!" See it here at kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJKbYZhvhL6qrq8m13s Other than that, between out of tune music, bad dubbing, and shirt knockoffs, this is undoubtedly a product of the 70s!
@80sCommercialVault8 жыл бұрын
+DanZero77 LOL I posted those ads from the Holiday special in 70's Vol. 14 and made the exact same comment about "The Wiz" in the description there. Guess I need to review my past videos more before writing these up!

To the best of my knowledge there is no station ID or information provided as to what affiliate these came from. It's safe to infer these came from the NBC affiliate in Kansas City based on the local ads.
