Your body can handle morbid obesity if you're young but as you get older your joints will go believe me I know firsthand. The ingestion of high quantities of sugar/carbohydrates causes inflammation in the joints and brings on early osteoarthritis that eats the joints away. An emotional trauma is usually the culprit in most of these cases when they were young many sexual abuse victims that substitutes food for feelings and that's the bottom line for all of this. It's hard to imagine someone being able to feel good while they eat but that's only a short-term good feeling because afterwards the guilt comes and the depression which only causes a person to run to their food pacifier again the endless cycle of gaining weight being able to do less and doing less speeding up the weight gain.

Is he really , pretty damnsure the father feels guilt for enabling his son to eat himself to death . Putting feelings over facts is how he got that big , let's not feed into feelings but look at the choices and facts . If he'd grown up in a solid home then he wouldn't have ended up thay big . All I hear is a whiney man who sought attention so much he was will9ng to eat himself to death

This is a good reminder that when you see someone who is obese to try to hold back on the judgement, as you never know which way they’re heading. If I saw this guy at the supermarket, I’d think “Damn, he’s huge”, but I’d be missing that he’s 200+ lbs less than he once was and in the process of losing more. You don’t get slim in a day, so we should never expect obese people to just suddenly turn up healthy.

The father/son relationship in this episode was wholesome. The father went to his house to take short walks with him, took his time, allowed him to take breaks, didn't push more than needed, and was always supportive and understanding. The best part of the episode was when the father asked him to water his plants and he said it was nice to do things with his father other than just being helped by him. Then the father brought some vegetable for him to eat raw and he said "go there, stir fry it and then bring it back" lol

Good on Wess. He doesn't make excuses, he doesn't feel sorry for himself, or blame others for his situation like other stories I've seen on this show. He made an honest effort to change and it paid off.

I had a drug problem when I was younger and addiction is a strange thing. You don’t realize how bad your problem is until it completely f**ks You up . Once you hate it and what it is doing to you and you to yourself it gets easier. Still a fight but much easier.

I saw his transformation and I am so proud of him! He looks absolutely fantastic and I love seeing all these wonderful people that do take the seriously and do take their health in account and lose all the weight. The transformations are incredible and I am so proud that they took the initiative and did the hard work to lose all that weight! It takes a lot of willpower, motivation, hard work, and perseverance in order to accomplish this and when I see the people from the show that really take the seriously and lose like three four 500 lb, it's truly inspiring and it really makes me happy to see that they are finally living their happiest and healthiest life! ❤️ ❤️. I always thought the show was trying to expose people and make them look worse and exploiting them. However, after seeing the results of a lot of people's body and seeing the journey they went through in order to become the person they've always wanted is truly wonderful and it makes me very happy for them!

I love how Dr. Now is so happy and supportive of people who take it seriously and lose the weight. He wants to be proud of all these people, but he cant do the work for them. He is truly a caring doctor, one that actually cares about the lives and wellbeing of his patients.
