Hi there, I'm wondering wether the displacement still is 2.0 or not? If so, why didn't you upgrade to a B234R? Thanks!

I take it this helps out with oil pressure problems when balance shafts are deleted! I hear of problems with oil pressure when these are deleted and blanked off ! I’ve never heard of oil restriction been put into the cylinder head so I want to know if it works and cures pressure problems! Every day is a school day ! Videos are excellent mate content is brilliant cheers

Not sure I agree with the execution here. Obviously you need good Oil pressure, but many good engine builders will always attest that a good ''Oil flow'' is as important as Oil pressure. I.e.- 4 bar Oil pressure with very good flow to all feeds, at max rpm, is much better than 6 bar pressure and poor flow due to flow path restrictions. If you delete the Oil feeds to the 'balance shaft bearings correctly' when removing them, so there is no 'bleed' off in pressure then removing the balance shafts when done correctly should increase pressure and also flow. Purely on the basis that you have reduced oil outlets and therefore the pumping flow rates and oil pressure will be the same at the pump as before, but the flow and pressure will increase slightly due to there now being less outlets. Personally I would have gone the other route, and deleted any oil pressure relief valve and opened out the feeds furthest from the 'pumping source' being cam feeds and allowed any excess pressure to feed the top end where pressure and flow is most needed, especially on long radius bends etc. Most engine seals are good to 6 / 7 bar +, so by deleting the balance shaft feeds, correctly, and then slightly opening up the top end feeds, getting much above 5/6 bar at full chat will be almost impossible, and you have very good flow rates with more than enough oil pressure. And if going for big numbers then 'line boring' the mains would be advantageous and would also take a little more oil flow and pressure, when deleting the Oil pressure relief valve.

You have ignored the issue of return flow, if you feed oil into the head at a high enough rate you can effectively lower the oil level in the sump and blow the motor. You dont want "more" pressure or flow, you want adequate pressure and flow.

Hands down mate, I've never seen anyone to rev SAAB B204 engine above 8k at this power levels. Could you please share some details about the cylinder head and main caps bolts? Are you using standard bolts or studs? Cheers

What size drill bit did you use on the feed to the head as I got you used a 1/16 tap for it, just I'm about to assemble my bottom end this week. 🍻 cheers

Why did you go with stock pistons instead of forged? I know stock t5 pistons can handle power but wouldn’t a lighter forged piston benefit for high rpm?
@RHBTurbochargers11 ай бұрын
Because stock pistons don't cost anything, the spares don't cost anything, and they work. Available forged pistons aren't much lighter.

Whats the reason for restricting the oil to the head?
@RHBTurbochargers2 жыл бұрын
To reduce oil flow to the head back to normal levels because of the raised oil pressure
