Last summer, we posted a video pitting a stock 702-hp RAM TRX (35-inch tires) against the 1012-hp Hennessey MAMMOTH 1000 RAM TRX with a Stage 2 kit (37-inch tires). The Hennessey truck walked away from the stock TRX.
To answer questions about the real-world effect of tire diameter and weight on acceleration and to show how well the Hennessey MAMMOTH 1000 RAM TRX performs against a stock RAM TRX, we staged the race again - but with both of our MAMMOTH variants.
In the first race, we run a 1012-hp MAMMOTH 1000 RAM TRX fully optioned out with Hennessey's Off-Road Stage 2 Kit (featuring 37-inch tires on custom 20-inch wheels, 2-inch level kit, LED lights, electronic side steps, and custom front and rear bumpers) against a factory-stock 702-hp RAM TRX. In the second race, we run a 1012-hp MAMMOTH 1000 RAM TRX with Hennessey's Off-Road Stage 1 Kit (featuring 35-inch wheels, LED lights, and custom front and rear bumpers) against the factory-stock 702-hp RAM TRX.
This "real-world scenario" comparison was conducted on an unprepped surface on a hot and humid summer day in sunny Sealy, Texas, at the Pennzoil Proving Ground. All trucks have a full tank of Shell V-Power Nitro+ Premium Gasoline (93 octane). We set the trucks to "Sport" mode (and turned traction control back on), held the brake, brought the engines to 1500 rpm, and then launched on the signal of a third person.

I would much rather prefer just an engine upgrade and the rest of the truck kept stock. Because the aftermarket bullbars add extra weight and plus the stock wheels just looks way better. Seems counterproductive to add more power and also add on more weight

Tfl truck raced the mammoth vs a stock Trx with different results. They were at a mile above sea level though.

@@S8ER 93 is what most Mammoth owners ask to tune. Some E85, a few higher depending upon their availability of that fuel. But 91? That's a waste of money and performance.

@@maxwellthepig4419 we can’t barely get E85 where I am so I get skipping E50/E85 but 93 seems to be available nearly everywhere and you can certainly get your hands on 100+ octane to mix with 91 if necessary. 91 must have been pinging like crazy.

Wow, I really like the TRX trucks, but the 1012 hp vs the stock TRX race was NOT impressive. The stock truck was ALOT closer than I imagined. The stage 1 was a little faster, but still not super impressive compared to the stock considering the price of the upgraded trucks are like 2x more $$$. Seems like a AMW 1000 Jeep Gladiator would put these trucks to shame… and it’s on 40s

@@john_barnettNo, he has 95 RON, which is equivalent to our(the United States) 91 AKI. The 98 RON which he has would be equivalent to our 93 AKI.

Off-road Baja Trucks should be tested in that environment .. though in reality most people will never take these off-road.. I loved taking mine rock-climbing and Baja'ing in Utah .. the truck stock is gonna beat everything on the market in pickup trucks..

Amazing truck but the Raptor is definitely the better truck if your really gonna use them as intended -off road- and a factory five f-150 kit truck is better then both of them!!!

Really a shame on Hennessy here basically zero engineering!Just a bunch of parts slapped on and not even a good job at that. Lighter rims shoulda been a priority, picking the right tires with the right amount of weight ( the stock 35s are some of the lightest 35s with that speed rating) maybe some two piece rotors the bumpers could be aluminum etc. and slapping the big Whipple on there with adding 37s was just stupid even porting a stock blower outside the snout loses a ton of tg down low ( like 50 lbs and that’s on a 2.4 ) the list goes on and on!

@@HennesseyPerformanceF5 yes I’ve seen it on their channel. I’m serious about the break upgrade needed in the UK. It all came about with boy racers putting V6 engines in their 4 pot cars and not upgrading the brakes. The police scrap them. Glad to see you are upgrading yours with the extra power. ✅
