Maybe you got my old jinxed 1971 Johnson that was knocked off my transom in a car accident on a trailer and went spinning sideways on the road for about 25 ft,LOL! in the 1990S. I also lost it going up on plane on a boat and fell off. It spent three days in saltwater before I got it back from three kids snorkling in wetsuits closeby .The only things that broke was the gearcase that I remember and I replaced it and sold it sometime after ran great.Maybe it went to Florida years back ,LMAO ... ..... Oh flip the tapered aluminum ring probably upside down mag plate common issue you know the the story,HA!..

Reminds me of the motor you had before when the plastic ring on the outside of the brass plate had to much play in it. I may be wrong. Watch many of your videos. I could be thinking of another motor

I'm having trouble removing the power head from my 2005 Yamaha 115 v4 2 stroke. Got every bolt and nut off as directed by service manual. This power head seems to be glued tight. Any ideas on separating power head from lower would be appreciated.

Hey. Thanks for tuning in. I would probably put a torch on it with some pb blaster, just heat and soak. Normally I would say "heat and beat" but I'm not very familiar with that motor so I did a quick search. Seems to be a problem with these things. You've probably done the same search already so I'm not much help but here's what came up. www.google.com/search?q=2005+yamaha+115+v4+2+stroke+powerhead+removal&sca_esv=76e9a7c290e4c885&sca_upv=1&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS994US994&ei=2j5UZvzGA8vkkvQP9q6t8AM&oq=2005+yamaha+115+v4+2+stroke+powerhead+r&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiJzIwMDUgeWFtYWhhIDExNSB2NCAyIHN0cm9rZSBwb3dlcmhlYWQgcioCCAIyBRAhGKABMgUQIRigATIFECEYoAEyBRAhGKABMgUQIRigAUjDLVCeE1jcGnABeAGQAQCYAW-gAdwBqgEDMC4yuAEByAEA-AEBmAIDoAL1AcICChAAGLADGNYEGEfCAgUQIRifBZgDAIgGAZAGCJIHAzEuMqAH2g0&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#ip=1

Have a question I have a 1969 Johnson outboard 25 horsepower. I got my parts in that I ordered they work awesome recoil works good. Well have another issue Wich I didn't think I would have I put j8C spark plugs in my motor and I don't think I over tightened them. Now the top cylinder spark plug came out with the metal threads on the spark plug. I am not sure what really happened I have never in all my 30 years on the water and many 1960 motors I have had ever had my spark plugs come out like that. I was very surprised by that. I took J8C out of it. I put the J8C in it and this happened. Now the J8C were copper champion spark plugs little more money. I pulled out champion J6C is there a different in more threads on the spark plugs there might be in your experience. Thanks again Kyle also the thread inside the spark plug hole is chewed up but the bottom of those threads are good. I know you could use a tap and tie. Just was wondering what you might suggest. Thanks again Kyle

Hey. It happens, old motors, metal fatigue. Especially if you're swapping them out on a hot motor. They should both be 14 mm I think. Get the insert kit, comes with everything you need, use the red locktite. Just follow the instructions and take your time.

I'm thinking that the cranky shaft is bent I could be wrong find out when you get it apart that might be why it's so hard to pull. I would not try to start it with the starter in till you have all the bolts in the bracket or you will break the bracket and damage the gear ⚙️ on the starter

Hey B-O-B. Thanks for tuning in. $800 is cheap compared to here. Although a long shaft tiller is rare in these parts. Sounds more like a custom job. You should be able to pull that off. Keep the faith! Thanks again & Stay tuned !
