As long as your doing ok and home, Bailey and the truck are good then whenever you bring us along for a drive is just perfect. Thank you for all the content you show us :) Cheers from Oz

The last time I crossed that was about 1985 or so and it was only a single span. Every expansion joint and I mean every expansion joint stuck up about 2 inches above the pavement. I swore I would never cross it again. I thought it was going to beat that old 359 all to pieces. Since then they built the northbound span and seperated the lanes. I know it was a lot better even being in Louisiana. And the speed limit was 45. Thanks Dan, from another retired trucker

My uncle Jim Hutchinson was one of the contractors that built part of the original bridge back in the 50s. I also got my seaman's papers in NOLA, and shipped out of there in the late 60s & early 70s. Love that part of the world!

average lake depth is around 14 feet. During hurricanes, most damage to boats is from them hitting the bottom during swells. Used to do the commute every bloody day, way back when. South into the city in the A of M and north in the evening

Look forward to you posts whenever they pop up. Thanks for doing them and taking us along. Question- I know Bailey is great company for you but do you recognize or sense that she enjoys being out on the trips? I guess whether she does or not her purpose is to be with you. I think I answered my own question so nevermind.

So many times crossing that road picking up raw rubber in New Orleans and back. Watched many drivers following gps in New Orleans and getting stuck on side streets with low tree limbs I did use the scale at that truck stop and found I was 3000 lbs over 80000 and had to turn back and get load made right

Good Saturday morning Dan and Bailey. Use to take that bridge from 2006-2008 after Katrina. It was a floating bridge! If you went over 45 mph you could feel the bridge start to roll! Took the bridge from Slidell to new Orleans everyday. Was NOT fun with a lowboy and a cat 319 excavator. Thanks for bringing back some memories! Hi Bailey!

@JustDave_au10 ай бұрын
It’s the longest in the USA. And while not the longest in the world, it is the longest continuous road bridge over water in the world. Longest bridge in the world is over 100miles in China on their high speed rail network.

Here is one for your bucket list. Maybe you have already done this one. The Mobile Bay Bridge system. I have driven on both these bridge systems as well as to Key West when I was driving for Mayflower. And the Chesapeake Bridge system. What moving company did you use to haul for?
@waynesworld208610 ай бұрын
Both ways use to be toll now it's only south bound, I forget amount of toll cause I take the other bridge the twin spans it's only 6 to 8 miles I believe, it goes into new orleans east and into new orleans, I live in Slidell, I believe the causeway is 24.2 miles long lol
