I’d love a companion guide to the 72-hour fast, please! My fasting tip: before the start of your fast, make a list of household products you’ve been meaning to get to-closet organization, basement, garage…these things keep you busy and you’d mind off eating. Decluttering your life is as healthy for you as the fast.

Tonight at 8pm I will have successfully completed my 72 hour fast. I will go to bed at 8:30pm on an empty stomach still. Wake up fasted at 3:30am to work from 5am-1pm still fasted, drinking only lemon water and coffee. At 2pm I will do my fasted training and break my fast at around 4-4:30. I. AM. PUMPED. I've been dreaming about having bone broth and 2 hard boiled eggs to break my fast then by 6pm I will have grass fed/sweet potato tacos and Greek yogurt with honey and berries for dessert. I am so excited. Last Saturday I purchased local farm eggs and grass fed ground beef. I am so excited!!! I felt great all 3 days. I felt strong. I trained all 3 days and felt great. Going to bed and I am excited. Your videos are very informative and motivating. Have a great day. Happy fasting to all my fellow fasters.

This is a dream come true! Cancer and diabetes have deeply impacted many of his family members. I was so scared he would surely suffer from an unavoidable illness in his later years. But now I have hope that I'll be able to live a happy and healthy life with my best friend for years to come! Thank you so much for your inspiring mission!

Amazing Dr Mindy, Im a Samoan woman, born in NZ and grew up in Australia. I turned 48 years old in Aug and struggled with my weight and lifestyle all my life. Im not an emotional eater, I just love food. My weight has juggled between 100kg to my heaviest 144kg as an adult. I decided a few months ago that I dont want to be on this cycle when I reach 50 and its not good enough to settle on my usual 'I deserve this treat or its all good I'll start tomorrow". So I started looking into intermittent fasting and i came across your work so I've been been following you this past 8 weeks and between 18/6, 36hr, 42hr and a couple of 50 hour and 64 hour fasting, 6 out of 7 days of 1 hour walking with 2- 3 days of weight training for muscle toning per week, I've gone from 118kg and currently weighing in at 104.9kg as of Yesturday. Ive been working up to 72 hour fasting which I officially started Yesturday at 7pm. This morning I weighed in 105.6 as I upped my protein intake yesterday. My guideline is coffee with 20ml milk keeping under 20% protein so i dont break fast and drinking water with ACV. I'll update you with my progress when I'm done and update with my weight situation. Thank you for your inspiration ❤ With Love Sonia 18th December Update Hi Guys, Happy to say, 1st time in 25 years , I'm weighing in the double digits and 98.2 Kg. Hi there! It’s May 21, 2024 and I have just finished my first 72-hour fast. Yesterday, after 48 hours my BG was 69 (it was usually between 90 and 111), and my ketones were 2.9 (I measured once before and it was 0.4 😅) I cannot believe how much energy I had the whole time and how well I slept. I drank 16oz (500ml) with 1/2 lemon juice and some rock salt twice a day plus a cup of black coffee once a day. The rest of the day I was just having plain water. I dropped only 2 pounds (about 1kg) that may return but I’m sure my body is very happy! My goal is to drop 27 pounds by December 2024 and get back into my favorite dresses that have been hanging on my closet since I moved to the USA in 2021. In two years I went up 36 pounds. Since Jan 01st I’ve shredded 9 pounds. Thanks for your videos!!!

I highly recommend these longer fasts just for the sense of well-being that comes with it. Even 72 hour fasts are effortless if you're already in ketosis when you begin, and cooking for family and watching cooking videos aren't even tempting - it's no different from being Keto and just not seeing processed junk as food anymore. I would think fasting would be much harder for people who ingest a lot of carbs, but it's still certainly doable and of course recommended. I just plain feel better afterward, and once I get back to eating I realize how salty or sweet food tastes naturally. I'm still not hungry after the 72 hours are up, but I make myself eat. Be sure to do this!
@sorbak5050 Жыл бұрын

Then tmrw I'm going to start 72 hr fast. I'm going to be smart about it. Thank you! ❤❤❤😊🎉🎉🎉 Leafy Greens. Gonna do Glucose checks am, noon, 8pm. Stop if goes to 7 or above. I’ve just completed my first 72 hour fast as before I could only manage 48-55 hours, the difference this time was I included electrolytes into my water and that made a massive difference in terms of having no dizzy spells or light headiness so I will probably do this type of fast every 2 months

I love that were doing this altogether with you ,that makes it nice that we have support....? Is it ok to exercise while on a 3 day water fast ?

I’m curious about 2 things: - You said water fast only, so no vitamins and supplements at all? What about ACV? - Can we break this fast and maintain autophagy by keeping our protein intake under 20g?
@terrifictomm3 жыл бұрын
Regarding supplements during fasting, because that was ones of my questions. One health KZbinr, forget his name, pointed out the fact that the whole point of a fast is to STRESS your system in a lot of different ways and if you are supplementing with vitamins that reduce inflammation by taking antioxidants likes vitamin C, you're likely not going to trigger an antioxidant response in your body! So basically your Supplementation are defeating the purpose of your fast. Makes perfect sense and I completely missed it! Something to consider.

I’d been doing keto and IF and some Omad for about 11 weeks then did an 84 hour fast (went longer due to bad timing..lol) in August…water only with electrolytes. Found it surprisingly easy, slept better and lost 4# …my glucose did drop to 66 just before I broke my fast but now steady in the 80 and my ketones were at 3.8….I felt great ….the downside is that the first week I did put back on 3# 😥 even though I was still doing strict keto….then started losing my steady 1.5# per week again. Then during the next 3 weeks I lost a Lot of hair 🥴…Now 3 weeks later I think my hair has stopped falling out……I’d like to do a 72 hour again but wonder if I should wait for a while???……I certainly do not want to lose any more hair……thanks for your great enthusiasm and support

HI Mindy. Thanks forthe great vids. I love your channel. I have question which has been with me for a while. Here goes. You say in this video the switch goes on at different times for different benefits. For example here 72 hours the switch goes on for many amazing benefits. How much longer do we need to go passed the 72 to take advantage? If i break my fast at 72 hours am i simply flicking the switch back off before ive had time to abosrb the benefits? Wpuld really appreciate your feedback. Kind regards Martin

Just finished my longest fast to date, 60 hours, this morning! Started fasting with your fast training weeks in April! I am wondering though, I have felt great, never any weakness or severe headaches for any of the fasts but when I woke up at 59 hours this morning, was feeling fairly sick by an hour later, not dizzy, just weak. Not sure what to tweak to be able to make it to 72 next time?

Around day 2 and after, I take a binder... Activated Charcoal for me absorbs the yuck from the gut from bacteria die-off etc. Some people take clay based products. You'll notice it makes fasting easier but it also absorbs any supplements, electrolytes, or meds that you take so has got to be timed!

I've done a few 3 day water fasts and love the way I feel - energetic and clear headed - but when I started measuring glucose I discovered that at 48 hours my blood glucose is about 2.7 mmol/l (48.6 mg/dl). I feel ok at that, but knowing that hypoglycemia can be very dangerous I always break my fast. What can I do so that I can get the benefit of longer fasts? Companion Guide please.

Don't test your levels if you feel fine. Trust your body. Test at the end when you are ready to break the fast anyway.

@@lawdogwales5921 Agreed. Our bodies are all different & this 50 cut off is not really a one size fits all & also depends on other factors within our bodies as it is all a balance, but perhaps just covering themselves in case ppl take it too far & have some kind of issues.
@grahamedwards68242 жыл бұрын
I think that once that you are able to achieve a Glucose/Ketone index of 1, ie Glucose of 2.7mmol/L and Ketones about the same, that is a major achievement. I think that it's then the time to break the fast. Anything more than that, it becomes likely that you are not staying within the guidelines, and could easily become hazardous. Some people might wish to try and maintain those levels for a while, if they can...(In relation to the effect that it is likely to have on cancer cells.) Early on I read Anyway You Can, by Dr Annette Bosworth.

2:52 the last switch that gets turned on in a 72 hour water only fast is an inmune system reset switch. 3:35 White blood cells that were tired get rebooted and refreshed. The body gets a surge of new stem cells which helps to repair various things, like musco-skeletal injuries, brain neurons, etc.

My fiesrt 72, I got so constipated, I almoot went to the hospital. In my 3 subsequent 72's, I did a fast mimicking hack. Not Dr Longo's, but stuck to 700cals a day (or less) by having 2 leafy green salads, with a Tbsp of good quality cold pressed olive oil on each. Also ate 6 black olives with each. This made fasting so much easier for me.
