TIPS! 1. Drink PLENTY of water. water will make you feel more full and you don't gain weight from it 2. Try to distract yourself. Try not to give into cravings for food or you might break your fast. 3. Remember it can reduce risk of chronic diseases. 4. Try to sleep longer. (if you can) I'm gonna start a 5 day fast! If you're starting your fast, good luck and happy fasting!

@@ugochukwu3548 It was a challenge but I felt amazing I went 4 full days of fasting! Day 3 was hard. I woke up nauseous and felt sick on and off throughout the day and I really wanted to give up at that point but I stuck it out and by the evening of day 3 I felt a lot better. I was on the toilet a lot on day 4 and I felt so much lighter and clear minded afterwards. My body loved the feeling of being cleaned out. I tried to go another day but temptation got the best of me and I ate some yogurt and oats when I woke up the next morning on day 5 lol. It was my first time fasting and I’m surprised and happy I actually went that long. 10/10 recommend, I’m gonna try to do this once a month. I learned and gained a lot just in those 4 days. Better self discipline and accountability, I got better sleep, I felt more energized while working out, I meditated more so I wouldn’t think about food, I spent less time on social media to avoid temptation, and it motivated me to eat cleaner and be more conscious of what I put into my body. Hope that helps thanks for asking!

Day 1: ✅ Tuesday Last ate: Monday, 9 pm Start weight: 70.8 kg / 156.1 lbs Morning went by smooth, the evening was very hard and I was really struggling. I only drink water from sunset until sunrise. Day 2: ✅ Wednesday Weight: 70,5 kg/ 155,4 lbs I slept great, but the morning was awful, I had shakes, my heart kept racing and I had the strong urge to quit. In the evening when I could drink water I felt much better but I was still very tired. Day 3: ✅ Thursday Weight: 68,9 kg /151,9 lbs I slept great, felt energized and awake in the morning. At 9 pm I finished the 72 hours fast. I lost a total of 2,1 kg / 4.6 lbs. I feel my body has reset and I feel healthy. I broke my fast with water when the sunset, and had a bowl of soup and a simple salad at 9 pm. Tips: The first two days were were difficult so I do recommend everybody trying this to sleep as long as you can and to use a sprinkle of salt in your water (for electrolytes and decrease the feeling of nausea and dizziness. For me, 3 days fasts is in the cross section of "too much effort" and "too little return". For extended water fasts, the first 3 days are always the hardest. Once you fast past 3 days, you can easily go on for another 4 days to stretch it to a week or even two. By doing the extension, you're not only benefitting more from the autophagy process but you're getting more benefits of the fast while suffering the same hard 3 days. ( most cravings and keto flu happen in the first 3 days). I think shorter fasts are ideal for most people. But if you're going to do an extended fast might as well go a little longer.

There are three ways to deal with acid reflux or gerd on a fast: 1. A little bit of baking soda in a cup of water. 2. High PH water(will turn off some of your peptins). Essentia is my preferred one. 3. And then obviously perscription acid reflux medicines. Since you usually drink alot of water on a fast anyways, number 2 is my method. Even before I did fasting my acid reflux had been so bad that I'd literally be unable to sleep because I would uncontrollably burp for hours. High PH water basically saved me.

I'm 71yrs old and Obese. 2weeks ago I did a 3day fasting and praying. After 3 days I felt I could go longer, but ended up giving in . Then , last week ,I did a 2day fast. This week I'm 3days in on a 5 day fast ,with prayer. I have been drinking plenty of water but also 3 black coffees per day.I intend to last out the 5days then move on to some fruit and vege.... Although I'm fat, I'm not doing this for weight loss but for self discipline and religious reasons.

Even with this video being posted 4 years ago, I’m glad to see it, get educated and read all the success stories through the comments. It’s motivating for sure! Currently at 43 hours of initially a 24 hours fast but kept going. I’ve squeezed lemon to my water so I’m not sure if that breaks the fast or reduces benefit at all. I do have the flu symptoms but I still feel great and not hungry. The cravings are kicking into high gear though!

This is really cool. I didnt know it had this many benefits. Im muslim, we fast for one month every year during a holy month ( mandatory) , and two days per week ( recommended ) i found that for some reason doing a religious fast is 10x easier than doing it for health 😅 i guess its the meditation aspect and the feeling of doing it for a greater goal. 3 day waterfasts are hard even tho ive been practicing fasting since i was a child!
@abhishekkj96643 жыл бұрын
Ramadan is at best intermittent fasting , not fasting . But, as you may already know, intermittent fasting is a sustainable method towards health . What's interesting is that, every religion in the world recommend fasting . They do so for health purposes , and more importantly, for spiritual purposes . The jains (Jainism) are probably the people to follow most extreme fasting . .I have heard some of them die after doing over 3 months fasting (deliberate ) They are of the opinion that natural way to die is by fasting ( some animals do this )

My standard fast breaking meal is, steak -organic, grass fed, brown rice and asparagus with a little bit of red wine (like 3oz). If it’s breakfast, it’s 3 organic eggs on top of a corn tortilla that’s been spread out with salsa and topped with some spinach, and milk -organic, grass fed- coffee with a teaspoon of raw honey

Whenever I am hungry while fasting, I would go drink 2 cups of water. If I am still hungry, I would take a power nap and after waking up, the hunger goes away. So long as you still have fat on your body, the feeling of starvation is just an illusion.

A massage sounds like a great idea during the fast. Lymphatic drainage and relaxation. The first 2 days are the hardest, easier when you slowly transition from solids to fruit and veggie liquids, then water. Doing it over a calm weekend is awesome. I did find that keeping myself busy helped keep my mind off the hunger, but it also quickly uses up the little energy you might have. Day 3 is the best! Regulated body cycles and lots of energy. Love the electrolyte water tip! I love the reset feeling, how much excess water and toxins are eliminated. I always feel like my body expels everything and it’s such a good feeling to remove all the toxins and reset my palate.

What were your before and after weight?
@sittingindetroit92043 жыл бұрын
I have a long term low dose chemo regiment every two weeks. I began fasting for 3 days after each treatment (so 3 out of each 14 day period) and had about 20% excess body weight when I began. During the first 3 months I found I lost roughly 3-4% of the body weight each time but would gain back about half during the feeding periods. Starting in month 4, I noticed the fasting weight loss dropped to closer to 2-2.5%. After 5 months I was at a total loss of 14.4%. Chemo treatments have just been upped to every week so I decided to shift my fasting to every week also. The only other difference I am making is to do the fasting the 3 days before the treatment instead of after. Hopefully this will reduce the "side effects" of the chemo treatments. I figure once I hit the 20% loss I will reduce to 2 days. Side note: Be careful on not only how fast you ramp up your eating after the fast but what you eat. I learned the hard way not to consume a lot of roughage after a 3 day fast.

We got into ketosis the first day and we accidentally did 4 days (93h) of fasting instead of 3 because of how good we were feeling the whole time lol (we calculated 3 day as 3 whole days instead of 3x 24h=72h . you got this!!
