I went there with friends in university time in late 80s. (Now I'm 56) There were no tourist no resorts there were nothing but two local families. We brought foods and water from Trad and stayed with a local uncle. He taught us fishing for a meal. What a wonderful memory. (Sorry for my english)

I hope Thailand can do something to preserve some of the islands for calm, low tech tourism. I used to go Ko Samet in the 80s. It was quiet and charming - bamboo huts and kerosene lamps. No hotels, no aircon, bucket showers. Now it’s overbuilt and another bland tourist stop. I wouldn’t go near Phuket or Samui anymore. I’m glad you found this as it is. I may try it next trip. That’s as much development as I want.

Funny to read about Samet :) I have been three times before Covid came around. I enjoyed it so much. But as a random guy i met told me (like you did) that place was a backpacker's paradise in the 80s. Now I am not a backpacker at all, but i do understand when people disagree what tourism makes out of such beautiful almost remote islands. By the way: i stayed on the quiet western side of the island (Ao Prao). I hope i can return at some point as i fell in love with that paradise :)

So finally I`m seeing you to visit our favorite islands! Good relaxing video. Me and my wife have been visiting these islands for 20 years by now- mostly twice a year. Cannot get enough. Koh Kood is our favorite. We visited last in January 2024 and going there again in November this year. Enjoy your exploring holiday! Thank you for making these videos for us so we can show your work to our friends and parents. We only take pictures. And your work is amazing- done with the highest professionality.

hi!! I'm going to visita Koh Kood on December. Can you suggest me the best way from Bangkok to Koh Kood? 🙏🏼
@hellarnirk994 ай бұрын
@@lauradetommaso3620 I don't know what are your criterias but for us is the best way when we get our bags at the same level on your way out is a .eeting point. Somewhere near is the Tourist Information and from there to get a private car for about 5000 THB. After that you just step out and your car is waiting for you. If traffic is OK then in about 5 hours you're gonna be at the pier heading 30-45 min.ferry trip to Koh Kood. Or if you're on a budget then from Airport to BKK Ekamai bus station and from there to the pier which leads you to Koh Kood. You can buy bus tickets and ferry tickets (Lomprayah) together and also open jaw tickets if you don't know when to return.
