Great video, Dean. Hope you have a great day on Saturday and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Keep up the great work. And, I too, am looking forward to seeing your video series on the lathe. Been considering the purchase of one myself and I've always enjoyed your videos.

The moment he finally starts the engine is going to be so cathartic for all of us who have watched him build this bike.

Agree on laying the engine on its side and then drop the frame over it. Get the the engine bolts in, then lift the frame up along with the engine. I did that to my 1981 gs550 and it was a snap. One man job!

Wierdly entertaining for me who knows nothing about machines like this. I've been watching all of these Honda videos and you present stuff in a great way! I think I've learned a lot and I can't wait for you next video! Thanks!!

off all the restoration videos available, I found yours to be more detailed, more educational and more fun to watch. You have really been an inspiration. I own bike, I enjoy fixing it as and when time comes, so much so I love watching your videos. Though I don't have those special tools, nor have expertise in fixing some of those complicated stuff but still. Thank you

first congrats to you and your future wife. im doing a frame off resto on my 73 750. the way i put my engine in was i propped the engine on its side and placed the frame over it. i powdered coated the frame and didnt want to scar it up. it worked perfect. the frame never touched the engine. i put the engine bolts on and a friend helped me lift the bike right side up. you can just slide the front forks out and remove the rear wheel so you can lift the frame with ease. enjoying your vids as usual. :)

Great find with the lathe. I've turn many parts on the same model as yours. Lots of parts out there for them so you should have a nice setup when its all done. Good luck and great job.

Easiest way to fit the engine is to lay the frame over but I would love to see a crazy engine hoist jig to fit it. I have dreamed of one for many years. Do it Dean!

How about you put something on the floor to protect the engine, lay it on its right hand side and drop the frame over the top of it. Bolt it in place on its side, then put the bike up right and make any adjustments.

Another option to get engine in frame. Lay engine on its side, strip bike to frame. Put frame on its side over engine. Chalk with wood under frame to align engine mounts. Bolt up. Put wheels back on frame and tilt up bike with engine attached.

I think that sprocket cover is to just catch chain lube and bring it back to the other side without making a mess of the axle area.
@robertbawden1702

can the sprocket go on either way? what is the optimum cog sprocket teeth size for city work against country touring please ?

Not sure but if it's a used one it should go back on the same way it came off. The stock setup works fine.

here in Western Australia, we have a speed limit of 110kph about 65mph and we have some wide-open spaces out here. you can ride all day without seeing anybody only emu's n kangaroos n tiger snakes. on my last ride, my mate riding in front of me ran over a tiger snake and it flicked up onto my lap. shit myself got a bit of a wobble up but didn't come off. out of the 10 most venomous snakes in the world 8 are here in Australia. i do digress sir country riding on my k7 four I have a 14 x 45 setup but in the city, I prefer a 13 x 46 setup. you might say GIDDAY to all your Australian followers especially us from down under Ravensthorpe. if they ever let you out of the US of A then let us know beforehand and we will look up you. Dino,your videos on this build are the best! I am doing a 75 750K. And your videos are greatly helping my build and learning process. Thank you so much,and congratulations on your wedding. I have a quick question,is the rear tire offset to the right(clutch side of bike) in relation to the frame? Mine is,and I wasn't sure about it. The frame is straight,and I have the spacer in on that side. Thanks in advance Dino.
