L4 Yeah I would’ve expected him to have a bigger reaction and maybe jump for joy a little, especially since he wasn’t expecting to be able to do more than 500kg and then he easily surpasses it by 250kg. I’m guessing that the reason he couldn’t actually lift 750kg off the floor, even though he can produce 750kg of force is because of how the weight reacts and impacts the body when you actually lifting it and it weighs down and pulls on you as opposed to a static that doesn’t move or weigh you down and just measures force production. That’s my best guess since they didn’t really explain it in the video. Maybe there will be proper explanation in a future video, but it’s no big deal I suppose.
@EpicVideoPerson4 жыл бұрын
It's because he wasn't satisfied with the pulls, as they werent able to be pulled up, therefore a smaller reaction.
@jakubhoranek30074 жыл бұрын
@@blankslate7315 the reason why he can pull 750kg here but can't deadlift 750 is not some magical static vs dynamic reaction. It's all biomechanics. The strongest part of the deadlift is at the top because of the joint angles and other stuff. Eddie couldn't pick up 750 kg off the floor. He however could hold 750 kg in that stretched position for a few seconds.

I guess the difference between actual lifts and the machine is that; 1) The machine is fixed in position 2) doesn't require any form from you So with the weights shifting your weight by default and the lifter having to compensate for that when doing a deadlift while maintaining form and such that nullifies how much weight an individual can lift by 25%? Interesting. Makes me think that if the potential exists then it can be reached. I do worry however that with tech moving forward would the support adapt to support "tech" on human bodies (i.e disabled people and such or people who have had ligaments & appendages removed) or would it stay strictly nature and such, because at some point we will reach a point where we will say "we cant go further" before we evolve our strength naturally in any tangible way so would it be necessary to allow tech I wonder? idk where im going with this just musing on the future. I think the next step is to get all strongmen to take this form of test so we can actually see full data across the board per person not to say "haha you're weaker" or something like that but to pool the data and come up with a consensus for the current lifting potential of all strongmen and women. This way we can see if everyone is generally improving or if there inconsistencies and such. Would be a great scientific experiment and good to know as these guys and gals are at the pinnacle of strength in the world. My unsubstantiated theory is that all "strong" people are basically one step ahead in strength for the rest of the species its my belief we'll actually evolve in this direction naturally (millennias of evolution but then evolution can be unpredictable at times to)

the only thing im not too sure about was the whole pulling the floor test. Biomechanical disadvantages from the free weights are different from a static isometric pull, especially at the rack pull position. 760kg is a lot harder off the bottom of the floor would it not be?
