Jesus really is helping me with my faith and understanding Catholicism and my life through Father Casey. It bothers me because I got recommended a video by someone else calling him a heretic and a "first born of satan" and it's so bothersome because bringing people closer to Jesus and doing Jesus' will is the fruit of Jesus, not satan. I had a LOT of Christians in my personal life who initially pushed me away from Christianity because of their hate and their attitude, as well as not liking certain things about me and letting me know that loud and clear, and I wanted nothing to do with Christianity. Father Casey, as well as some other Catholic and Christian KZbinrs, are really helping me understand and find Jesus' love and presence in my life, getting me to read my Bible which I hadn't touched in years, and to do as best I can to do as Jesus would in my personal life.

I think that is a borrowed idea from Cardinal Sheen who said, "There are not over a hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church" But it works, and it is true of most people. When I was a teacher, I quickly realized this about my students. Getting to know some of the toughest kids was a pleasure and so revealing.

The world needs more priests like Fr Casey. The focus on mercy over persecution is what drew me to religion and seeing how many were quicker to persecute when I got older disillusioned me. Along with The Chosen, coming across Breaking In The Habit and Upon Friar Review is definitely reigniting something in me; though I still admittedly find it hard to commit back to the faith

I realized after watching this that I'd like to see more of what daily life is like for you/school/church. 12:44 for example. Do you kneel down before the cross every time you enter the room? And what do you call this room anyway? The altar room? [I noticed after posting this that there is a sign that says "chapel" so I'm assuming its called the chapel. Lol]. What are all the things that take place there? 12:20 what is that cup (or chalice?) and why do you handle it with great care as if its something special, and yet stow it away in a closet while other objects are on display? What are all the objects/icons/symbols and their meanings? What are some differences between this school and secular schools? Do you have any sort of rituals (for lack of a better term) and/or prayers, mandatory or otherwise, that you perform individually or as a group? Do you have any classes/subjects that aren't taught in seculars schools? Do secular schools have classes/subjects that aren't taught here? What religious events and activities do you do that doesn't usually happen at secular schools? Thank you for making these videos Fr. Casey.

At 12:44 Fr. was kneeling before Jesus because He is present in the Tabernacle, and yes that’s a chapel where Mass takes place. People can also go to the chapel to pray and spend time with Jesus.The chalice is special because its blessed and holds the Blood of Christ. Hope this helped!

As someone married with kids, how Fr say the religious life is freeing really resonates me because I find myself wanting to love God (spend time with Him) but not free because of my marriage, my possessions (that hold me), my work and SO many other distractions. Of course I can love God in all areas of my life but sometimes, I just want to pray longer but my time is limited or when I have time I'm already too tired.

I must comment that I am highly impressed with this video for multiple reasons. As someone who works in the film industry, I recognize the skill and talent it takes to film something like this in one take. The person asking the questions, the videographer, and yourself--you all work together seamlessly. Your talent for public speaking is admirable. Considering the way everything timed out and there weren't any blunders... it's just incredibly well done! I am here after searching St. Vincent de Paul because I was assisted by Vincentians today. I went to Catholic school for two years, grade 7 and 8. I am not religious because I noticed too many exclusionary rules. I was even excluded from partaking in communion while the rest my classmates did so. This was because I had not been baptized. I was humiliated and alienated. I am in my 30s now and hopefully things have changed but, what are your thoughts on excluding people in the way that I was back then?

Quite a refreshing session, loved it. And may the Lord continually bless you and keep you in His perfect peace. Amen. By the way, Faroe islands and Iceland were spot on. As a Sailor who's fortunate to be well travelled. I had the rare opportunity to have visited Faroe islands during one of my voyages last year. And without a doubt, it is by far one of the most scenic and amazing places I've ever been to. Stationed in the middle of the N. Atlantic, I was in awe by its beauty, the relatively high mountain ranges, the architecture, people. It's simply breathtaking. Although, weather could be really harsh particularly in Autumn and Winter. Because I experienced it first-hand. And living in Northern Germany, I thought no Autumn weather would surprise me anymore, but Faroe islands did, in a "pleasant" way I guess :) I look forward to a solo trip back there again, and of course Iceland as well. And you should do same. Strongly recommend :) Stay safe and healthy, Fr. Casey. God's blessings! 🙏❤️

One thing I’d love to ask you is how you balance people of different faiths. If a student isn’t catholic but asks for guidance from you are you as comfortable talking to them, do you have to do anything differently etc? I ask because I’m not a catholic but I love your channel so much and if ever I needed someone to talk to and I was lucky enough to have “access” to your counsel I’d hate for you to say you couldn’t listen to me. Does that make sense?

When my partner was asked if he could have dinner with any historical figure, he said "Jesus obviously. Think about it he visited us once two thousand years ago and people still hold weekly book club meetings to talk about how great it was". Hes a Christian (Episcopal) I'm an athiest, but I have to agree with him and if given the option to have dinner with a historical figure, I'd probably pick Jesus too. Though I'd probably want to learn some aramaic first.

I am uh, not exactly a religious person, I guess I'm agnostic? I don't not think there's something out there but I don't really think I can say who or what that is. I grew up in the Southern Baptist church and they were never very interested in questions so I do appreciate how thoughtful this content and most of the people who enjoy it seem to be. There is something I've been wondering recently though, hopefully someone sees this and can help me understand. In some videos, he's mentioned sins in action or in thought. As someone with ADHD which results in some pretty frequent impulsive and intrusive thoughts, all across the board, does that mean in this Faith's understanding I was specifically designed to be more vulnerable to sins in thought?
@St0rmcrash Жыл бұрын
Not a priest but a quick search shows that intrusive or impulsive thoughts are not sin. Entertaining those thoughts is where they can become sinful. Also the church recognizes mental illnesses or conditions exist and those can reduce or remove culpability of a potential sin if they remove or reduce your consent. Try not to be too scrupulous as that itself can become a destructive compulsion or thought. The church takes a view that physical or mental conditions should be treated as such and be seen by experts in those fields, they are not a purely spiritual problem. Just remember that we all are sinners, we all face our own challenges, but neither does the devil lurk around every corner of every moment trying to get us
