£76m EuroMillions winner Andrew Clark buys new house and cars

Andrew Clark 51, (inset) won £76m before Christmas and has bought a four-bedroom family home (right) close to his old £220,000 house (left) in Boston, Lincolnshire. The new home comes with an indoor pool, gym and a triple garage. The property is set on two acres of grounds and also has a spacious workshop. Mr Clark, a self employed builder, also treated himself to an £80,000 Mercedes-Benz AMG C 63 and a Nissan Qashqai with his winnings but said at a press conference with partner Trisha Fairhurst: 'The best thing about the win is how we can help all our family.'

I imagine still potentially messy especially if you have kids theres changing public school to private and struggling parents from public school hounding for handouts etc. Going public or not many people would still find out so I reckon it wouldnt be quite the perfect easy care free lifestyle.

I would never go public if I won the lottery. It would be me and my family. If it was as high as 76 million, every family member would be well off and comfortable. But it would never make news, I'd never accept any interviews etc. But despite that, it wasnt me who won, it was this nice man. So power to you. Well done. You go public for a few reasons. You want to stay local in the area. You have a lot of friends/family etc. When you tell people about the win, there is the risk that they let slip or if you fall out..they do it deliberately. At which point you will be besieged with begging letters, media attention & possibly worse. If you get out ahead of it straight away, Camelot have people to help manage anything that comes up, media get their scoop & you are quickly forgotten about.
