Restoring an old boat is grueling, ass-busting work. It really needs a vision of what the boat can be when it is restored. These people have what it takes and don't mind the fact that hard work is required. I find it so inspiring. I hope that one day they can just enjoy the fruits of their labor and follow their dreams to sailing adventures. KUDOS to this family!

The builders of my aluminium hull Koopmans used a similar insulation. Various slabs of closed cell foam and spayed in the gaps. Built in 1982, it's still in good condition :)

I have a suggestion for dust management. Get a cheap square floor fan and five A/C filters about the same size as the fan. Construct a box, five surfaces of filters and one with the fan exhausting outward. Suspend the box under a hatch. You can even sit it on the floor just to cleanse the interior. It works well and better - its cheap.

Stick the shop vac hose on the outlet of the vacuum, and point it out the hole in jack’s cabin. This creates a small negative in the space that is cordoned off and will (hopefully) eliminate the dust getting everywhere. Try that.
