Great video once again! Thanks for making it with so much love. I have a P-Line and I'm not very happy with the 4 speed 11-13-15-18T with 54T chainring. The truth is that I want to go fast and the 11T is not enough. With my wife's classic 6-speed brompton I go faster. I'm thinking of putting the Minimod X5 and also change the chainring to 56T. What do you think? the X5 would be to go a little more comfortable on the climbs :-) I guess I would also need to change the derailleur, the shifter and the chain, right? By the way, how much does the Lagoon Blue Project bike weigh (I'm just curious).

You’re so kind, thanks dude for appreciating the hard work of creating a better content for our Brompton. If your current setup is not enough and you want to squiz more juice then we recommend you the 56T Chainring with 5 cogs mods same as the Lagoon Blue project, as you will have the speed on the track with 56-11t and a 56-25t for your climbs. You will need a shifter, 11s chain, not a unibody x5 as you are using 4-5 speed hubs for P line, you only need to add a Minimods single cog 25t to your current setup, we can help you out all of this if you dont have a supplier available on your area. We will have the T line 7s project coming soon, we’ll have the video and feedback soon!

Ever thought about trying to create a belt drive system on a Brompton without changing the rear triangle, there are companies that do it but they have to change the rear triangle to accommodate the hub with internal gears , so a far more challenging scenario would be to see if a system could be done with an 8 or 11 speed internal gear hub with belt drive without altering the rear triangle.

Hey there, honestly not yet, we are trying to get away with the internal gearing because of the weight and lack of customization that you can do with it, we know other companies like Strida still use belts but you are right I think its a fun project and you also need to think of the tensioner which is still needed when folding the bike, thanks for watching man, appreciate your interest.

@@781BromptonPremiumParts Have looked at that issue regarding the folding issues when folding easy fix all that is needed is a tensioner within the belt drive system release when folding , people mention the weight issue also but if you took the weight of the cogs and chain away no weight issue.

I think swapping the rear triangle is the most elegant way to convert to a belt. Compromising a triangle that's not meant to be split could be dangerous. Also, replacing the rear triangle might allow for thicker tires and disc brakes.

@@drill_fiend1097 Changing the rear triangle with thicker tyres and disc brakes has already been done by two different companies = one in Scotland and one in Holland, what I would like to do if possible is to get an internal gears on a hub with 8 or 11 gears without changing the rear triangle with a belt drive system and just swap it over as like a kit form = no oil, no chain, no derailleur, the amount of Brompton owners who would buy that kit would be amazing, everyone I’ve talked with around the world who own a Brompton have said they would buy that kit in a heartbeat, the feed back I get is no maintenance, the biggest growth across the bikes be it mountain, touring, electric has been the belt drive system, year on year over the past five years the belts have grown and Brompton have been walking around with their eyes wide shut.

How is the braking power with Ridea caliper? Any better than the stock ones or would you recommend ee Brake from Cane Creek? Thanks

@781BromptonPremiumParts 3 ай бұрын
@@yurivannogani6244 Ridea calipers are better than the original in terms of weight, the power is the same, it can carries different sizes of tires in the other hand eeBrakes are lighter than Ridea but you need an adaptor to fit it and you can only use 1 to 1.25 tires, we have not use eeBrakes with different Tiparts arms so we cant recommend it, hope this answers your question, thanks!
