Great episode Luke! That one with Mark Steel was fantastic too! As a learner of english I get 90% what people are saying but when it comes to answer, oh God! One day my colleague asked me: 'what time is it?'. And in my head:' should I say seven fifteen, or fifteen past seven?' and said nothing. Same with 'How are you?' it creates a loop in my head, 'I'm fine, and you?' , 'I'm good', 'Not bad', 'No complaints'. After a while I said to myself 'oh there's no best answer just say something'.

Thank you very much Stephen and Luke, The episode is really enjoyable. Luke mentioned that he's got many English listeners from the USA. So, imagine that Americans start speaking in the British accent. Would be great. British English sounds beautiful and musical. It is surely one of the main reasons people choose to learn and love it. Cheers

Your English podcast is the best I have see, so far, tthere ara thousands of them, but no e of them is as good as yours, belive me, I spent many hours listening to you, as I lovevEnglish, and it has became and addition to me that i hasn,t happened to me, before, I just usef to get tired of all of them after I have see them one or twice, they are like bussiness, not English class. Some, thank you very much, you are really , really good, I promise, so far, you are the best English teacher, you make it . easy, time passes really fast and for me has became an addition that doesn't let me sleep at night for more than a year , so I have to sleep in the morning, as I don't have to work outside anylonger because I' 68 years old. I know today that you have got a boy at this time I' m listening this podcastyou' ll have it maybe i less than a year. Congratulations. I had a grand-son the same age your little son, mine was born 15/09/2023🌠🆙💜♾️. ' from the north of Spain, In Spain people don't usually learn English very well at school, children can spent 10 years or more and can' t speak English more than one two words, not verbs, sentences well done, people just speak one word, as fakenews, set up, crowfding, mainstream, run away, and so on, they do mainly on tv and stuff like that, or young people use it a lot when it comes to speak about computing and stuff like that. But they only say an English word among the other ones in Spanish. Even some of the people don't know the meaning, they just hear it a lot, and they are used to it, or something like that. 🆙🔝♾️📚✅💜

You're a very hardworking man and, I like listening people like you very much, that make me easy to learn a bit, I think I am also a very curious woman, that like learning very much, but I haven't got time enough to do it, and I am rather old yet (68). I mainly enjoy listening people who knows much more than I" d be able to do, in 100 years time . I like reading and listening clever people, like RDarwing, Noam Chomsky, the BBC fivelive , the young politics from the left wing, I LOVE politics, science, literatura, English, diy at home, computing, internet readins or KZbin stresmings , podcasts, tutoriales,my contry house, and learning to growing up vegetables in our vegetable garden, I Take the Seeds and keep them until the following year, I wish you to see my vegetables, tomates peppers...and so on.), but I'm m not good enough at any thing. Hi Luke, I finished listening this pod cast, which was very good as usual. It's cool to watch you being interviewed and it's also good to hear your ideas about things in general. Anyway, I really enjoyed it, but I have a question about grammar: the meaning of English learners or Learners of English is really the same? I mean, from my point of view, the meaning are different, as you mention when you talked about the misunderstanding.
